How Zoya Akhtar picked the title Dil Dhadakne Do

3 April 2014 3:40 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Here’s something interesting we have just learned about director Zoya Akhtar. Did you know she picks her movie titles from songs and more specifically from Excel’s films’ songs? For example, the title of her 2011 super hit Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is one of the songs from Excel’s film Rock On!! Imagine it could have been called ‘Sinbad the Sailor’ instead of Znmd if she had picked another song from Rock On!! Apparently everyone around her has been saying that taking the title from a song has been extremely lucky for her. So, for her next film she is taking that same road. This time around the director has taken the title for her upcoming film Dil Dhadakne Do from the popular track from Znmd. Apparently about a dysfunctional Punjabi family, the highly anticipated film has a very exciting ensemble cast which includes Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, »

Koffee with Karan Season 4: Zoya Akhtar & Rohit Shetty

30 March 2014 12:04 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

She is undoubtedly one of the most talented filmmakers in the industry today and has given us cinema to think about. What’s more, she gave us Znmd! He is the king of the 100cr club, who not only made us laugh with Golmaal but also gave us the entertaining Chennai Express. K Jo’s couch for this episode had Zoya Akhar and Rohit Shetty who with their distinct kind of cinema enchanted us with tales of the filmy world!

Zoya is the daughter of the legendary Javed Akhtar, which has been an advantage as a woman in the industry. “I have been lucky to just pass by the phase of having the wrong people hit on me. People know who my parents are, so ‘dirty uncle’ couldn’t hit on me. And honestly speaking, when people ask me what it is like to be a woman in a man »

Koffee with Karan Season 4: Kajol and Ayan Mukherjee

21 March 2014 8:07 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

We saw the Kapoor siblings on the couch this season and fell head over heels in love with that episode, but the Mukherjees weren’t left behind when K Jo decided to have another set of cousins on the couch who in their own way cast their spell, be it movies or otherwise. Kajol and Ayan Mukherjee brought to the couch lots of filmy talk, friendship and a lot more!

We love Kajol for exactly who she is, blunt and super funny! She has recently made it to all the fashion pages for her style, which wasn’t quite how K Jo had expected her to turn out. She laughed and said that she wanted to try this aspect of fashion, which is now a very integral part of the industry. “I have always been told what to wear; I never tried things on my own. This was one area »

Dear Kareena Kapoor Khan,

I am known as Desigal, and this identity is synonymous with being a Kareena fan. I’ve been a true blue Kareena fan since year 2000. For 14 years, I’ve idolized you, watched every single film & live performance in awe, and followed your every professional move. My fanaticism didn’t end there.

I eventually took over managing your fansite, your picture gallery, as well as your most active twitter fanclub with over 184K followers.

Koffee With Karan 4 preview – Kajol and Ayan Mukherjee

15 March 2014 7:16 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

It’s all about loving the family on the Koffee couch with Karan this week with cousins’ actor Kajol and filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee. While Kajol does not seem to miss a bean in mentioning Ajay Devgn in response to almost every question Karan posed to her, Ayan was more than candid about his ‘love story’ with friend Ranbir Kapoor (who is practically more like family to him). It is expected that the usually straightforward Kajol will have quite the few quips to make for an interesting episode, what remains to see if the duo can up the Trp of the other Kapoor cousins episode from earlier this season.

All that and more on the upcoming episode of Koffee with Karan Season 4 which airs on Star World on Sunday, 16 March 2014. Powered by Idea

Koffee With Karan Season 4: Abhishek Bachchan & Farah Khan

23 February 2014 5:51 PM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

A lot of people will agree with me when I admit that my first reaction to Abhishek Bachchan and Farah Khan coming together on the show was “how will that be now?” I was unsure if the pairing of guests was right, but this was surprisingly different than what I thought, as these two esteemed celebrities seated themselves comfortably on the couch of Koffee with Karan to chat about films, married life et al.

Abhishek Bachchan is known for his ‘cool dude’ ways, and he was nothing different here. He has been a part of the Dhoom franchise with Uday Chopra right from the beginning, so did he feel overshadowed when Aamir became a part of Dhoom 3? “Aamir is a senior actor and he is brilliant, but when it comes to Dhoom, the film belongs to Jay and Ali,” he said. Talking about his stunning wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he »
