Lonely Are the Brave (1962) is from his novel "The Brave Cowboy". Try out "Desert Solitaire" and "The Monkey Wrench Gang". Inspiration for the non-violent (to humans) direct-action environmental movement. Funny, opinionated, romantic, anti-authoritarian, died too young. A defender of the American West. Kirk Douglas calls Lonely Are the Brave (1962) his favorite of all his films. See more »
