Salmans birthday bash in Panvel cut short

31 December 2013 3:26 AM, PST | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Unlike the 4-day bash that usually occurs on Salman Khan's birthday at the family's farm-house in Panvel, this time the revelry had to be cut short in a day because of the superstar's clogged schedule. Says a friend of the star, "After bringing in his birthday on 26-27 night, Salman had to leave for Lonavala to shoot the Bigg Boss finale. Closeby in Karjat, Salman's buddy Sajid Nadiadwala was ready with his next schedule of Kick with Salman. So there was no time for a stretched-out 4-day bash." According to a prominent invitee, Salman was in no mood to wind up the party at Panvel. "He was most reluctant to let it go, and so were we. But there was no choice. Salman had commitments. His brother Sohail had taken just a few hours off from his post-production work on Jai Ho to be at the party. Even he had to rush back, »

Jai Ho Music Review

29 December 2013 9:15 PM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Jai Ho sees Sohail Khan return to directing after Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002), his debut film as an actor. Jai Ho is yet another remake of a Telugu hit, Stalin, starring Chiranjeevi and Trisha.  Sohali’s version stars Salman Khan, Tabu and Danny Denzongpa in pivotal roles.

Music has been composed by Sajid-Wajid (Dabangg franchise) and Amal Malik with Devi Sri Prasad as guest composer. Vocal talents consist of Wajid, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Palak Mucchal and Himesh Reshammiya amongst others. The album features 9 tracks including 3 remixes.

Baaki Sab First Class is a satirical number sung by Wajid. The lyrics (Sajid, Irfan Kamal, Danish Sabri) are impressive however the repetitive dhol beats gets old quickly and Wajid’s rendition, while decent, suffers from a serious case of been-there-done-that.  The remix of the track is equally unremarkable.

Only O Teri trailer attached with Jai Ho

28 December 2013 3:56 AM, PST | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Contrary to reports, the trailer of David Dhawan's Main Tera Hero has not been attached to Sohail Khan's Jai Ho. At least 12 hotshot filmmakers-producers have requested birthday-boy Salman Khan (who turned 48 on December 27) and his brother Sohail for their respective film's trailers to be attached to Jai Ho. The Khan brothers have said yes to only one trailer. And that's Salman and Sohail's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's production O Teri, which incidentally, stars Salman's protege Pulkit Samrat. As everyone knows there is a lot of bhaichaara in Salman Khan's attitude. And nowhere is this more evident than in his attitude towards his family. For Salman, family always comes first. If he has given priority in 2013 to his brother Sohail Khan's Jai Ho, he has also decided to attach the trailer of his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's production O Teri to Jai Ho. Contrary to reports that »
