Politician Baba Siddiqui's Iftar party is certainly special as it had brought the two warring friends together two years ago. It was at the time of his Iftar party when Bollywood's most sought-after stars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had buried their hatchet. Since then the duo has been back to being great buddies. For the past two years, the twosome came together at Siddiqui's Iftar party and bonded like house on fire.
However, this year, to everyone's surprise, King Khan gave a miss to the Iftar party held at Mumbai's plush hotel. While Salman Khan along with his entire family (parents Salim and Salma Khan, sisters Arpita and Alvira) and friends Sonakshi Sinha, Elie Avram, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kabir Khan, Sangeeta Bijlani attended the star-studded party and had a gala time, Shah Rukh was conspicuous from his absence. Like every year, all eyes were waiting with bated breath to »

Salman Khan's fans from both sides of the Indo-Pak border can rejoice. But with reservations. The new Salman Khan's Eid release Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Bb) has been passed by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (Cbfc) with a 'UA' certificate . This means Salman's younger fans can only see this eagerly-awaited film when accompanied by an adult. According to sources close to Bb the producers had hoped for a 'U' certificate, as a very large part of Salman's fan-following constitutes kids. However, the good news is that very little cuts were ordered by the Cbfc. There was trepidation among director Kabir Khan and the film's team that the film's comments on relations between India and Pakistan may find objection at the Cbfc. But sources at the Cbfc say the Examining Comment "loved" the Indo-Pak peace message. "We found nothing objectionable in the comments on relations between the two countries. In »

Salman Khan might be going strong when it comes to films but it seems he's facing mid-life blues when it comes to his personal life. The actor, who'll turn 50 in December, keeps on changing his statements.
Just a few days ago, the actor in an interview to DNA After Hrs, said that he was open to arranged marriage. "Nobody has sent me a proposal! If somebody does send me one, I will seriously consider it. I am open to arranged marriage. Sometimes, love marriages don't work and arranged marriages do. And sometimes, it's the other way around. It depends on the individuals, how they go about their lives, how compatible they are," stated the actor.
A few days later, at a song launch of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the actor seemed to have second thoughts and said, "Arranged marriage cancel; love is back on."
Maybe Salman is just in a good mood »

Films and filmmakers have always been at the receiving end when it comes to protests and rallies stemming from some unconventional movie titled or stories. The latest to be mired in a similar rut is the much talked about and highly anticipated Salman Khan film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. In fact we hear that a group of right-wing Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Vhp) and Bajrang Dal protested against Salman Khan's upcoming Eid release. Raising slogans, the group demanded that the Salman Khan film's title be changed as it hurts Hindu sentiments. If that wasn't enough, the groups have also threatened to launch a massive protest and stop the screening of the film unless the movie's title is changed. Interestingly, while the makers of the film hosted an event yesterday evening releasing yet another track from the movie, the protests by the political groups comes after a Pil had been filed by a »

According to reports, some 'religious' groups want Bajrangi Bhaijaan's title changed as it 'hurts' religious sentiments.
At a press conference when asked if it bothers him, Salman Khan said, "No. it doesn't. I don't think any religious group would do something like this. If they are from a religious group, they must know that every religion respects the other person's religion. If you see in Mumbai or Maharashtra, you'll see Maulanas sitting at every Ganesh visarjan. Today we are in a different league altogether. Every religious group asks you to follow your religion and respect the other person's religion. Religious groups can't be hurt by this. Please don't malign them. How can they be against peace? Islam means peace."
Ever since Yash Raj Films' new project, Sultan, featuring Salman Khan in the title role (in and as Sultan Ali Khan) has been announced, there are numerous new stories being floated in the media about the film every day.
To confirm this and more we got in touch with the very busy Nawaz and asked him about the leading lady as well as him signing Sultan. The short and polite reply from the man of few words is reproduced: "I don't know anything about Sultan!"
Well, Nawaz's statement is self-explanatory, and one can draw his/her own conclusion(s) from the above. »
Said the actor, "Sanjay Dutt still has some more time till he comes out. If he comes out it will be on furlough or parole only. But when he comes out (for good), he's going to be clean and clear and he's going to be a free man. That's what we want him to be. Once he's out and a free man, obviously I'll party with him. But if he comes bech mein on parole or anything, no way."
Besides the major clash of Salman Khan's Sultan Vs Shah Rukh Khan's Raees (in Eid) that has been hitting the headlines, 2016 will witness yet another box-office war as two of the much-touted projects are set to release on the same day.
Both the projects are significant and look promising. While Mirzya marks the debut of Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher (which is held as the biggest launch pad), actor Emraan Hashmi is doing a biopic for the first time. Mirzya is director Rakeysh Mehra's first love story and his next after the super successful film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. It is a contemporary love story set in Rajasthan. Bollywood star Anushka Sharma is reportedly out of the race in the hunt for the female lead role in the forthcoming Salman Khan starrer Sultan. The action drama, which is being produced by Yash Raj Films, will commence shooting in the autumn and will be wrapped up in time for a Eid 2016 release. Anushka is one of Yrf’s favourite actresses, with whom she made her Bollywood debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Hence, the 27 year old was being strongly considered for the female lead role in Sultan.
However, it appears that Anushka is now out of the race for this much-desired role. This is because of scheduling conflicts, as she has already given dates to Karan Johar for his forthcoming directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. She has already signed a contract and is therefore committed to the project and the dates which Karan »
