Why Daniel Day-Lewis' Retirement Is a Major Loss to the Movies

Daniel Day-Lewis has earned many accolades and awards over the last 35 years, but perhaps no one has more perfectly encapsulated this actor's appeal than comedian Paul F. Tompkins. Cast in a tiny part in 2007's There Will Be Blood opposite Day-Lewis, the stand-up comic later related what their first on-set encounter was like. "Now, I had been told that Daniel Day-Lewis was kind of an intense person," Tompkins says. "And he's really not. He's really … The Most Intense Person that has ever lived on Earth. DuckTales Opening, Poster, & Premiere Dates Revealed!

14 June 2017 1:40 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

For folks like me, DuckTales played a big part in your childhood. Between the comedy and mix of high adventure, it helped to scratch a very specific itch on TV shows that not a lot of animated series did back then. However, as great as iconic I found the series to be, perhaps what it’s best known for is its catchy opening theme. As someone who watched the show, catching that opening them was an integral part of the actual experience of watching the show (very much how the opening of an anime is an integral part of the show itself).

If for some reason, you don’t remember that opening (or if you've never seen it), take a look:

For as long as we’ve known that Disney Xd would be reviving DuckTales for a modern audience, we’ve been wondering how they’d handle the opening theme. »

TLC Has the Perfect Response to a Fan Still Questioning Their Thoughts on Scrubs

Hate to break it to you gentlemen, but the ladies of TLC still don't want no scrub. It's hard to believe that it's been close to 18 years since the girl group released their smash-hit single "No Scrubs." Because so much has changed over the years, one curious fan wondered if their thoughts on a guy that thinks he's fine has changed. "Does anyone know if TLC has relaxed its policy on scrubs?" comedian Paul F. Tompkins asked on Twitter. Lo and behold, the group responded in the best way possible: "Hell no!" For those who don't understand the importance, nostalgia and power of this reply, let us explain. The number-one single climbed the »

‘Bajillion Dollar Propertie$’ Review: Reality TV is No Match for This Real Estate Parody, Which Gets Better as It Gets Weirder

1 June 2017 2:03 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

It’s probably when Paul F. Tompkins (as Dean Rosedragon) sits in a dimly lit office room, backed by blaring thrash metal, that Season 3 of Seeso’s “Bajillion Dollar Propertie$” officially transcends parody.

Like a frog that doesn’t realize it’s being boiled as the water gets warmer, “Bajillion Dollar Propertie$” started as a simple skewering of Bravo and Hgtv reality shows but gradually become its own beast, just by stepping up the absurdity. The result is a show that’s learned enough about its main characters to know when to throw everything out of the window.

Platinum Realty is home to some of the unluckiest and barely-qualified Realtors in the greater Los Angeles area and this season those employees wander even further out into the weird zone. While Season 1 focused on who would be made partner, and Season 2 was about their quest for a “Diamond Dealmaker Award” (culminating »

Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ Bloopers Are the Funniest Recurring Segment on TV

11 May 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

There’s a recurring segment on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” that’s just as good as anything else on TV.

It’s not the Big Furry Hat proclamations, stacked with one-liners about bizarre human behavior and dumb phrases people insist on using. It’s not Midnight Confessions, where Stephen Colbert “admits” to activities and thoughts that aren’t actually sins. And it’s not his nightly monologue, which, misguided phrasing aside, has angled closer and closer to the tightly constructed jabs of Colbert’s Comedy Central days.

All of those are solid, but the best “The Late Show” segment doesn’t have a name and it doesn’t happen on a regular basis.

It happens whenever Colbert stumbles over a joke.
