Pop Renews Eugene Levy Comedy ‘Schitt’s Creek’ for Season 4

“Schitt’s Creek” is still up at Pop. The CBS Corp.-owned network has just ordered a fourth season of the Eugene Levy-led comedy, Variety has learned.

The news comes as “Schitt’s Creek” is midway through its third season, with its finale set for April 5. The series is Pop’s most-watched original show, and has surpassed its previous seasons’ viewership in Nielsen’s Live+7 ratings.

“‘Schitt’s Creek’ has become a brand-defining television series for Pop — a culturally relevant, clever, full of heart comedy that is perfect for these crazy times,” said Brad Schwartz, president of Pop. “Season after season, we are seeing significant audience growth, heightened buzz, critical acclaim and award-season chatter. We expect even more in Season 4.”

Viacom Names Nickelodeon’s Sarah Levy COO of Global Entertainment Group

Viacom CEO Bob Bakish has tapped an 18-year company veteran to lead its domestic and international cable operations with the appointment of Sarah Levy as chief operating officer of Viacom’s Global Entertainment Group.

Levy will oversee operations and strategy for MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Spike, Cmt, TV Land, Logo and Viacom International Media Networks, the latter being the division Bakish headed for a decade before he was elevated to CEO in October. Levy will oversee a broad swath of Viacom’s businesses with the exception of Nickelodeon, Bet and Paramount Pictures. She has a mandate to increase coordination and collaboration across the various networks. She reports to Bakish.

Viacom has named Sarah Levy Chief Operating Officer of its global entertainment group, the company announced Thursday. In the newly created role, the executive will oversee operations and strategy for MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Spike, Cmt, TV Land, Logo and Viacom International Media Networks. Levy will have oversight over Production Management and Operations, Digital, Strategy and Business Development, Research, and Content & Programming Enterprises and also help guide Content Distribution, Finance, Business and Legal Affairs and Human Resources functions across these networks.
