Aquaman Rocks Out in New Justice League Set Photo

12 August 2016 1:12 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

When filming began on Justice League this past April, the production was shrouded in secrecy. Director Zack Snyder and his cast took a break from filming in the U.K. to stop by Warner Bros.' Hall H panel at Comic-Con, where they unveiled the first trailer. Now that this veil of secrecy is starting to be lifted, Zack Snyder decided to share a new photo from the set, featuring Jason Momoa in full costume as Aquaman, along with a surprising prop.

The filmmaker posted the photo on Twitter this morning, revealing that "every day on set is an amazing adventure with this guy." The photo features Aquaman holding an electric guitar, presumably between takes. For those who follow the actor on Instagram, this photo may not come as a big surprise, since he's often posting videos of his musical outings. He even appeared at a Stargate convention in 2008 to play his acoustic guitar, »

The Week in Spandex – Suicide Squad breaks records, DC fans take on Rotten Tomatoes, Avengers: Infinity War update, Spider-Man: Homecoming cameos, Deadpool 2, Gambit and more

6 August 2016 7:10 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

In this edition of The Week in Spandex, we look at Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Batman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman Triumphant, Watchmen, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Marvel’s Most Wanted, Deadpool 2, Gambit, Legion and more…

The fifth superhero – or in this case supervillain – movie of 2016 opened this week as Warner Bros. unleashed the latest chapter of the DC Extended Universe, Suicide Squad. And, much like the previous chapter, it didn’t go down to well with critics, with the David Ayer-directed ensemble sitting on 26% at Rotten Tomatoes (which rather hilariously led to an online petition to close Rt down seeing as critics around the world don’t seem to like DC movies these days). Trailer Trashin’: San Diego Comic-Con Movie Trailer Roundup

5 August 2016 4:04 PM, PDT | CinemaNerdz | See recent CinemaNerdz news »

Hello again, dear readers. This week sees the release of Suicide Squad, the latest DC Comics film adaptation. In the meantime, the latest Trailer Trashin’ is my quick take on some of the major movie trailers to come out of the recent San Diego Comic-Con.

  Doctor Strange

Premise: After Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), the world’s top neurosurgeon, is injured in a car accident that ruins his career, he sets out on a journey of healing, where he encounters the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who becomes Strange’s mentor in the mystic arts.

My take: After the huge superhero brawl of Captain America: Civil War earlier this summer, the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes things in a very different direction. This is an exposition-heavy trailer, laying out the basics of who Doctor Strange is and the nature of his powers to help general audiences get on-board with »

The Dark Knight Looks Unusually Cheerful In New Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Bts Photo

1 August 2016 2:29 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It’s been a strange summer for movies, with a number of high profile flops and several highly anticipated releases failing to meet expectations. As a result, the arguments surrounding Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice feel like a thing of the past, especially as the Ultimate Edition helped to wash away the bad taste the theatrical version left in the mouths of many fans.

We’ve seen a lot of behind the scenes content from the set of the movie in recent weeks, but arguably one of the best sources has been photographer Clay Enos. A longtime collaborator of Zack Snyder’s, his work has set the tone for the DC Films Universe (he was responsible for our first look at Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman).

The Caped Crusader Cracks A Smile In New Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice Behind The Scenes Image

1 August 2016 11:14 AM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Clay Enos' work is incredible, and he's well worth a follow on social media, especially as he's recently been sharing a lot of great images from the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The latest offers up a rare look at a smiling Batman as Ben Affleck poses alongside director Zack Snyder and writer Chris Terrio. Before the release of the movie, it was thought that Batsuit would be 100% CGI. We obviously now know that wasn't the case, and as divisive as Batman v Superman ended up being, most fans seem to agree that Affleck looked awesome in this The Dark Knight Returns inspired costume. Don't forget to check out our look at all the key new moments from the movie's Ultimate Edition by clicking here, while a breakdown of all of the new Easter Eggs can be found right here.    Zack, Ben, and Chris smiling on set. »

Geoff Johns Promoted to President of DC Entertainment

27 July 2016 3:21 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Warner Bros. has promoted Geoff Johns to the post of president of DC Entertainment as it continues to  reorganize the executives handling its DC movies.

Johns retains the chief operating officer title and continues to report to DC Entertainment topper Diane Nelson.

The promotion of Johns to the presidency of DC Entertainment actually took place two months ago but the studio had not confirmed the move until this week.

The studio disclosed on May 17 that it had given oversight of its DC Entertainment movies to Johns and Warner’s Executive VP Jon Berg through a recently created DC Films arm. Since then, Berg has been continuing to report to Greg Silverman, the president of creative development and worldwide production at Warner Bros. Pictures since 2013.

Johns has been a driving creative force along with Greg Berlanti behind DC’s successful television properties “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Supergirl.”

A Teaser Trailer for “Justice League” suggests a really fun blockbuster

26 July 2016 8:30 AM, PDT | Hollywoodnews.com | See recent Hollywoodnews.com news »

A few days ago, Warner Brothers chose to set the tone for their upcoming mega blockbuster Justice League while at Comic-Con. They opted to drop a Teaser Trailer of sorts, more or less setting up the premise for the sequel/follow up to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Obviously, many weren’t pleased with that one earlier this year, so it was imperative for the powers that be to deliver. Going by this Teaser, they certainly seemed to have, as this doesn’t appear overtly grim, but rather kind of fun and more like a comic book. We’re still a year plus away, but it appears like something to now really look forward to. For those unaware, though I’m not sure how you could be, this is the next outing in the DC superhero universe. In the aftermath of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Bruce Wayne »

James Wan's Aquaman Movie Lands One Time Justice League Scribe Will Beall

22 July 2016 12:49 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Aquaman may have a release date (July 27th, 2018), but for some reason, it's become one of those movies many fans refuse to believe is happening until the cameras start rolling. James Wan is going to be at the helm, and now it has a writer in the form of Will Beall. If that name rings a bell, it's because he was hired to pen Justice League before Chris Terrio took over the project for Zack Snyder.  It was revealed way back in 2014 that Warner Bros. were developing Aquaman on dual tracks, meaning they hired Beall and Kurt Johnstad to work on one script while David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) did another. Then, the plan was possibly to merge them, something which worried many fans.  That didn't pan out anyway, and Beall moved on to work on the Training Day TV show. However, he's now been rehired to rewrite the screenplay by himself as, »

Synopsis:

Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.

It’s rare to find a blockbuster movie as popular, polarizing, and perplexing at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since it’s release this past March the film has been met with a maelstrom of opinions. At best the movie was perceived as an interesting mess: a tone deaf work of staggering disconnect that left many fans feeling short changed by the epic promises of seeing two of the most »

J.K. Simmons Gets Insanely Pumped in Justice League Workout Photo

8 June 2016 11:16 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Back in February, it was confirmed that principal photography on Justice League will begin in April, but, nearly two months after shooting has started, we haven't heard much about the movie. Over the weekend, DC Films' Geoff Johns revealed that the first movie title will simply be Justice League, not Justice League Part 1 as previously announced. But we still don't have a confirmed synopsis or cast list quite yet. Today, however, we get our first look at star J.K. Simmons, who is playing Commissioner Gordon, in training mode for this movie.

While we don't know if J.K. Simmons has started shooting his scenes on Justice League quite yet, this photo from fitness professional Aaron Williamson's Instagram teases that the 61-year-old actor is getting into great shape to play Commissioner Gordon. The actor is also seen sporting a rather long beard as he works out, but we don't know for »
