Popular Tamil actor gets married

Actor Ashok Kumar, who is known for acting in films like Muruga, Pidichurukku, Kozhi Koovuthu, Ula, got hitched this morning, March 19.

Ashok tied the knot to Saranya, and the event was graced by Ashok's close friends and actors, Prasanna - Sneha, and others. The pictures from the marriage event have been circulating on social media.

Fahadh Faasil to work with ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ fame director?

MollywoodReports say that the film will be about the history of the Chundan Vallom, the well-known snake boat of Kerala.Digital NativeDigital NativeDirector Jijo Punnoose, who came up with the masterpiece My Dear Kuttichathan way back in the early 1980s, the first ever 3D film in the history of Indian cinema, is all set to make a comeback. The director has an interesting script and is reportedly in talks with Fahadh Faasil to play the lead role. While there is still no clarity on the project, some reports have emerged that it will be about the history of the Chundan Vallom, the well-known snake boat of Kerala. More details about the project are expected to come out soon officially. The makers of the movie are busy with the pre-production work. Jijo Punnoose began his career as an actor with the 1962 release Bharya and went on to star in movies such as Inapraavugal, Thilothama and Pearl View. He had directed two films Padayottam and My Dear Kuttichathan, of which the latter was a cult hit. Jijo is the eldest son of popular producer Navodaya Appachan of Navodaya Studios. My Dear Kuttichathan, a technically brilliant 3D film, was produced by Navodaya Appachan and Jose Punnoose under the banner Navodaya Studios. The film had Dalip Tahil, Sonia, Master Aravind, Master Mukesh, Surya Kiran, Rajan P Dev, Jagathi Sreekumar and Jagadish in the star cast. Maestro Ilayaraja had composed music for this venture with Ashok Kumar cranking the camera and Tr Shekar editing it. While the director’s project is taking shape, Fahadh Faasil is busy with a number of films. His recent release Carbon is a hit and it is confirmed that he has signed on the dotted line to play the lead role in the B Unni Krishnan directorial, which is being scripted by actor Suraj Venjaramoodu. The actor also has the Tamil movie Super Deluxe directed by Thyagarajan Kumararajan, in which he is sharing screen space with Vijay Sethupathi, lined up for release and Anwar Rasheed’s Malayalam movie Trance. Yesteryear Kannada actor Krishna Kumari passes away in Bengaluru

She was suffering from blood cancer; she is survived by her daughter, Dipika. In her more than two-decade-long career, Krishna Kumari starred in more than 200 films, which included films in Tamil, and Telugu. Her Kannada films, where she acted alongside legends such as Nt Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Dr Rajkumar, were immensely popular. She also acted in one Hindi film, opposite Ashok Kumar. She straddled the roles of goddesses and modern women with equal élan. Some of her more popular movies include Pelli Kanuka, Aggi Pidugu, Bandipotu, Bharya Bhartalu (1961), Vagdanam (1961), Kulagothralu (1962) and Gudi Gantalu (1964). Her debut came in 1951 with the film Navvithe Navaratnalu (Telegu). She is also the younger sister of another popular actor, Sowkar Janaki. She had shocked the cinema world when she chose to leave her glamorous life and chose to settle in a farm in greater Bengaluru at the peak of her stardom. Krishna Kumari’s decision to quit her film career came after her marriage with former editor of the Indian Express and founder of Screen Magazine, Ajay Khaitan.
