Today is Josh Charles’ 39th birthday. In a week, it will be exactly 12 years since Sports Night first aired on ABC. I can tell you these things because without Sports Night, I wouldn’t be the same person I am today. That’s how I know that television fandom changes lives.

I’m sure every one of you who comes to this site has heard it from someone at some point in your life: you watch too much television. Television is bad for you. Watching television will never amount to anything. I’ve heard it, my friends have heard it, my colleagues have heard it. That’s just the common belief in the world. Friday Night Lights Season 4 DVD Review

Friday Night Lights has proven to be the Little Engine that Could. The show recently finished airing its fourth season and a fifth is on the way in October.  The upcoming season will be its last, but the fact that the show has pushed on for so long, despite its lack of success with ratings, seems to say something about its quality.  The fourth season was just released on DVD and you can check out my full review of it after the jump:

HollywoodNews.com: The hit series “Friday Night Lights,” which is adapted by Peter Berg, Brian Grazer, and David Nevins from the book and film, has released volume 2 of their television soundtrack.

The soundtrack boasts a wide variety of artists and features some of the biggest breakout bands of the year, including White Rabbits, Band of Skulls, Augustana, Heartless Bastards, A.A. Bondy, Jakob Dylan, John Doe, The Avett Brothers, Am, Sufjan Stevens, Fink and W.G. Snuffy Walden, whose title score is included on the soundtrack for the first time.
