Why we all love a bit of Walford woe at Christmas | Homa Khaleeli

24 December 2014 4:00 AM, PST | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

EastEnders’ festive misery is the perfect antidote to all that turkey and tinsel. Here are my top five Christmas special plots

For anyone looking for tidings of comfort and joy this week, turning on EastEnders makes as much sense as cornering an angry drunk at a Christmas party: they might not actually thump you, but their furious shouting is hardly festive.

On Albert Square the tears in the characters’ eyes shine brighter than tinsel, and anyone caught under the mistletoe is probably sleeping with their brother’s wife. Meanwhile, the Queen Vic has turned the old adage “misery loves company” into a recession-busting business model.

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Bones, Once, Arrow, Grey's, Parks, Nashville, Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow and More

Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Send any/all of the above to askausiello@tvline.com

Question: Now that Bones has decided to incorporate Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy into the show, will we get to see Brennan in the early stages of her pregnancy this time? Or will there be another time jump? —Tiera

Ausiello: Sounds like you’ll get a ringside seat to that elusive first trimester, since exec producer Stephen Nathan tells me that Brennan and Booth will, a least initially, attempt to keep the pregnancy a secret from their co-workers.

An Ode to Zac Efron's New Mustache

22 December 2014 10:38 AM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Alert! Alert! This is not a drill! Zac Efron has a mustache!

This photo from last month, the month November of the year 2014, is how we’re used to our Zac Efron looking: Fairly clean shaven, with perhaps a dash of scruff. Perfect.

Splash News

Earlier this month, Joseph Gordon-Levitt tweeted out this selfie of our Zac Efron filming something for HitRecord On TV and sporting what appeared to be a ‘70s-style porn stache.

But was it real facial hair? Or just a fake mustache for the shoot?

Strictly Come Dancing final live blog: As it happened

20 December 2014 8:46 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

It started at the end of the summer, and now we're just days (you could even count in hours if you're really keen) away from Christmas Day. And like the arrival of Santa down the chimney, we couldn't be much more excited about the Strictly Come Dancing 2014 finale.

Caroline Flack, Simon Webbe, Frankie Bridge and Mark Wright are this year's Final 4 preparing to duke it out on the dancefloor and shake their tailfeathers until they won't shake no more for our votes.

Why Mark Wright should win Strictly

Why Frankie Bridge should win Strictly

Why Simon Webbe should win Strictly

Why Caroline Flack should win Strictly

Only one person can win and although Caroline and Frankie are the clear bookies' favourites, they are by no means home and dry. It will probably come down to those dreaded showdances, which can make or break a celebrities whole Strictly journey.

Why'd SNL Snub Sherlock? Was Once a Bit Sketchy? Did White Collar Call for a Pretty Cameo? And More TV Qs

19 December 2014 10:35 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Once Upon a Time, Hart of Dixie, NCIS and White Collar!

1 | Should we read anything into the fact that Saturday Night Live host Martin Freeman omitted Sherlock from his list of credits during the monologue? Which of Taran Killam’s impressions was more impressive: Alan Rickman or Gollum? And has the show offered up a less funny sketch this season than the inscrutable “Pine River Lodge Tree Lighting” (with Freeman and Kenan Thompson »

‘Arrow 3×08: The Brave and the Bold’ Review

19 December 2014 2:35 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Written by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg | Directed by Jesse Warn

Plot:

As team Arrow finally catches up to the boomerang-wielding Villain, they find that he is more than a match for them. Luckily for Oliver and friends though, they have unexpected help from the Flash, which brings the two heroes into another team-up to stop this dangerous Foe.

Verdict:

I was wondering if this second half of the Flash/Arrow crossover event would be similar or better than it’s first part and after watching The Brave and the Bold I would say that it is just as good but delivered something quite different to what ‘Flash vs. Arrow’ gave us.

Since the first episode gave us the physical superhero vs. superhero brawl (which was excellent, as I said in it‘s review), as well as the Mentor and student relationship between Oliver and Barry (as the speedster is still »

The Flash/Arrow crossover isn’t just fan service – it’s tradition

17 December 2014 4:01 AM, PST | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

This week fans are being treated to an honest-to-goodness TV superhero team-up, the likes of which we haven’t seen since the Green Hornet met Batman in 1967

It’s the superhero equivalent of a Champions League home-and-away tie. In Tuesday’s episode of The Flash, scowling, vengeful bowman Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) turned up in Central City looking to turn a bad guy into a pin cushion. In Thursday’s episode of Arrow, scarlet speedster Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) heads over to Starling City to help Olly run down a villain who throws lethal boomerangs. It’s a genuine, honest-to-goodness superhero TV team-up, and it’s about time.

The 15 Best Music Videos of 2014

1. Perfume Genius, "Queen" Directed by Cody Critcheloe, the video for Perfume Genius's first single off Too Bright is so strange and wonderful that it requires multiple viewings to fully comprehend. Even after all that, you still might end up with nothing, and maybe that's the point. 2. Fka Twigs, "Video Girl" It was nearly impossible to pick just one Fka Twigs video for this list. "Two Weeks" flirts on the line between sexy and scary, a twisted version of Michael Jackson's "Remember the Time." But "Video Girl" is straight-up scary, with Twigs gyrating atop the body of a recently deceased prisoner minutes after watching his death by lethal injection. If you're anything like me, I'll bet you haven't felt uncomfortable like this in quite some time.  3. Sherlock-coaster, EastEnders World: 9 rides for a BBC theme park

10 December 2014 9:31 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

It sounded so surreal, we had to double-check it wasn't April Fools' Day when we first heard the news. A BBC theme park is in the early stages of development, and could arrive as early as 2020.

You could be riding the Only Fools and Horses wurlitzer or bashing against Nick Hewer and Karren Brady on The Apprentice dodgems in only 6 years' time. It may sound ridiculous, but the success of the Harry Potter Studio Tour suggests that cashing on huge entertainment franchises isn't actually a bad idea and might even work.

Here are our 9 best suggestions for possible rides. Any profits resulting from their success can be sent in an envelope to Digital Spy Towers.

1. The Top Gear Escape From Argentina Thrill Ride

Published by DC Comics

It’s time to do the regular ‘Earth 2: World’s End’ analysis again and unfortunately, not much has changed. The series continues to suffer from the overwhelming art team and terribly unengaging storylines. One thing of note is the addition to the art team, Scott McDaniel, who takes on the duty of panel breakdowns. However, what change he was to have brought is nigh invisible, save for some slightly better set up pages.

This week, the story involves the primal forces of the Earth seeking out their new avatars. After nearly deserting Solomon Grundy and Sam Zhao to hold off the falling fragments of the moon, Alan Scott returns »
