[Updated] After officially announcing its return late last year, Arrested Development Season 4 went into production back in August, and things couldn’t be looking better. There’s no doubt that this is going to be one of the best things television has to offer in 2013.
Netflix acquired the rights to the new season last year, and are set to make it available in its entirety on the same day. And now that date has been announced as 4th May.
So if you’re reading this in the Us, you make sure that you go and watch Iron Man 3 on 3rd May, because you’re going to be too busy watching the awesomeness that is Arrested Development that Saturday.
Along with the season’s premiere date, the names of the episodes are reported to have been leaked, though have since officially been taken down. But via the folks at Bleeding Cool, »

From VancouerFilm.Net, Sneak Peek the complete TV pilot of NBC's now cancelled, 2012 dark comedy,"Mockingbird Lane", rebooting "The Munsters" 1960's TV series, with modern VFX.
"...in 'Mockingbird Lane', sweet little 'Eddie Munster' (Mason Cook) is a normal kid about to enter the horrors of puberty. Truth is, he's about to discover that for him becoming a teenager means growing hair in truly unexpected places -- as in all over his body -- every time the moon is full! Eddie's got it pretty good though. His loving, supportive, run-of-the-mill family includes his mom 'Lily' (Portia de Rossi), the daughter of 'Dracula', his dad 'Herman' (Jerry O'Connell), who brings new meaning to 'Frankenstein' and 'Grandpa(Eddie Izzard), who would give Dracula a run for his money if he weren't actually Dracula! Of course then there's creepy cousin 'Marilyn' (Charity Wakefield), who's really the odd one because she's so completely normal. »

Despite 5.4 million viewers tuning in for the pilot turned Halloween special of NBC’s Mockingbird Lane, that is all we will see of Bryan Fuller’s creation. He tweeted what some may term as sad news, but I see as glorious:
“I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.”
First, never tweet with a heavy heart. Second, judging by the gross pilot, I don’t think many are going to miss the project, which had starred Jerry O’Connell, Eddie Izzard, Portia de Rossi, Charity Wakefield, Mason Cook, Beth Grant, Cheyenne Jackson, and company. »

While this should come as no surprise to most readers, we wanted to pass along the word that The Munsters reboot TV series has been officially canceled. Series creator Bryan Fuller made the announcement on Twitter last night: “I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.”
The cancellation was looking likely after NBC decided to air the pilot as a Halloween TV special and not as the first episode of a brand new series. The episode aired on October 26th, and there was a slim chance that ratings or audience reaction would change NBC’s mind, but obviously it didn’t perform well enough to merit additional episodes. It is said that NBC spent around $10 million to develop the project.
For those that missed the pilot, it was directed by Bryan Singer and starred Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, »

Say what? Another NBC series bites the dust before audiences even taste a single episode. There will be no Mockingbird Lane, my friends. Shall we have a moment of silence?
In case you missed it Mockingbird Lane was the buzz worthy Munsters reboot. I thought the cast was shaping up to be pretty cool, as was the promo art. I’m surprised by this turn of events. Had NBC picked up the series, Jerry O’Connell would have played Herman Munster and Portia de Rossi would have acted as his wife, Lily. Charity Wakefield was cast as Marilyn Munster, Lilly’s niece, who is pretty normal, and therefore a black sheep in the family. Mason Cook would have played Eddie Munster, the werewolf, with Eddie Izzard as Grandpa.
The bad news came from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, when creator and executive producer, Mr. Bryan Fuller Tweeted. He said, »

Mockingbird Lane has been officially dropped by NBC. The Munsters reboot starring Jerry O'Connell, Eddie Izzard and Portia de Rossi has been axed after a single pilot episode, creator Bryan Fuller announced on Twitter. Fuller wrote: "I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support." Mockingbird Lane was originally developed by the previous NBC controllers in 2010-11. However, its script was kept by new chief Bob Greenblatt in January 2011. The show was redeveloped and ordered to a pilot in November (more) »

"Mockingbird Lane" will not proceed on NBC. The pilot, which aired as a one-off Halloween special, will be all that's produced of "The Munsters" remake.
Series creator Bryan Fuller tweeted the news to his followers.
Fuller wrote the script for the show that was a modern-day retelling of the Munster clan made up of vampires, werewolves and Frakenstein. Bryan Singer directed the pilot that aired on NBC in October. The show was billed as a Halloween special and had 5.5 million viewers. Jerry O'Connell, Portia de Rossi, Charity Wakefield, Mason Cook and Eddie Izzard starred in the pilot.
Fuller had been developing "The Munsters" reboot since 2010 and the pilot reportedly cost $10 million to produce. While "Mockingbird Lane" isn't going forward, Fuller fans have "Hannibal" to look forward to on NBC. Hugh Dancy, Gillian Anderson and many, many Fuller veterans star in the thriller about serial killer Hannibal Lecter. No premiere date has been announced. »

There was some difference of opinion about the status of NBC's reboot of The Munsters. Some reports claimed that Mockingbird Lane was dead while Bryan Fuller said that there was still chance it would become a regular TV series.
NBC aired the one-hour pilot as a Halloween special and it attracted pretty good ratings for a Friday night. It stars Charity Wakefield, Eddie Izzard, Jerry O'Connell, Mason Cook, and Portia de Rossi as the creepy clan.
Well, Fuller ended speculation about Mockingbird Lane's chances of survival today. He wrote, "I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support."
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Mockingbird Lane won't be a regular series? Would you like to see it return as annual specials or are you »
It’s officially over for NBC’s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane. The project’s creator/executive producer Bryan Fuller made the announcement earlier today on Twitter. “I tweet with a heavy heart,” he wrote. “NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.” This marks the end of Mockingbird Lane‘s two-year journey. The project was originally developed by NBC’s previous regime during the 2010-11 cycle. Fuller’s script was one of very few Bob Greenblatt kept in play when he took over the network in January 2011. It was redeveloped and, in November 2011, it was ordered to pilot, which was subsequently rolled to June because of difficulties with casting. The pilot landed Bryan Singer as director and eventually assembled a cast led by Jerry O’Connell as family patriarch Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife Lily, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. »

"Mockingbird Lane," the troubled reimagining of the 1960s sitcom "The Munsters," will not be resurrected.
"I tweet with a heavy heart," showrunner Bryan Fuller wrote on Twitter Thursday afternoon (Dec. 27). "NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support."
It's not surprising news, especially since the network repurposed the expensive "Mockingbird" pilot to air as a Halloween special, on Friday, Oct. 26. And although it drew respectable ratings in its Friday-night time slot, "Mockingbird" -- starring Portia de Rossi, Jerry O'Connell, and Eddie Izzard -- wasn't enough to persuade the network to suddenly champion it as a series.
Mockingbird Lane proved to be a dead end.
“I tweet with a heavy heart,” Fuller said on Thursday. “NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.
The Mockingbird Lane pilot — which NBC aired as a pre-Halloween special — drew 5.4 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating, giving the network its best demo in the Fridays-at-8 time slot in two years. After its debut, TVLine readers gave the sneak peek an average »

‘Once in the history of time comes a sitcom like Arrested Development’ – A quote ‘Entertainment Weekly’ attributed to a television show that delighted and thrilled for three electric seasons until its cancellation by Fox in 2006.
I first discovered Arrested Development back in 2003. I believe it was around 3am and while I was channel surfing I decided to stop and give the show a chance. I became an instant fan and have been ever since. The show was filled with witty jokes, hilarious scenarios and outlandish characters but with ridiculously low ratings in addition to moronic time slots handed out by Fox, the show eventually drifted away. Since Arrested Development was taken off the air, die hard followers have worked tirelessly for the return of the show. I consider myself to be among that group of committed Bluth lovers, and did my fair share of signing petitions, constantly checking entertainment news, »
