Back in November, when it was reported that the long-awaited sequel Zoolander 2 is finally moving forward, we also found out that Penélope Cruz had joined the cast. The actress was never confirmed until today, when star/co-writer/director Ben Stiller revealed on his Twitter and Instagram pages that Penélope Cruz has in fact joined the cast. Unfortunately, no details were released regarding who she may be playing.
She joins a cast that includes Ben Stiller (Derek Zoolander), Owen Wilson (Hansel), Will Ferrell (Mugatu) and Christine Taylor (Matilda), who are reprising their roles from the original 2001 comedy Zoolander. The news of Penélope Cruz's confirmation comes just a few days after Ben Stiller announced another new cast member, Cyrus Arnold, who is playing Derek and Matilda's son, Derek Jr. The very end of Zoolander showed Derek Jr. as a newborn, with the sequel set 15 years after the original. »

"I thought it was right," he says. "It is what I thought it was. How it happens came later." When you talk to him—as I did at Toronto a year ago when he premiered his ill-fated movie directing debut, "Are You Here," an amiable buddy comedy starring Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis, and again last week at L'Ermitage Hotel—you realize the USC film school grad loves movies. That's where he's coming from, in his references and inspirations. (His question "what's the one movie and song that always makes you cry?" launches a long detour on "Stella Dallas" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow.") Like any good writer, Weiner is curious about people, listens, observes. He's intuitive. He's easy to talk to. I found myself revealing things, which surprised me. He feels safe. Now that the show is done, he's enjoying being relaxed, writing alone, recharging, and hanging with his. »

The middle of Spring actually means a new selection of summer blockbusters to look forward to, and with a ton of big-budget films slated to come out within the next few months and beyond, the summer of 2015 looks like one to remember.
From the new Mad Max (which is already on our end-of -year top ten list event though we haven’t yet seen it) to Avengers, Poltergeists, male strippers, talking teddy bears, and a reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, this summer’s trips to the theaters will be jam-packed with sequels and new tales. From May 1st right through to the end of August, some of the movies on our list could wind up on year-end “best of” lists or even receive some Oscar talk by December.
Grab your calendar, because Wamg has a rundown of this summer’s films we’re most excited about, so check them out below! »

Production is underway for Zoolander 2, the sequel to the 2001 comedy starring Ben Stiller as the titular really, really, really, ridiculously good looking male model. The original film had the unfortunate task of opening in theaters just a couple weeks after the attacks on 9/11, and it's been a long road to get a follow-up off the ground, but it's finally on the way. We've gotten some teases of the film with a big announcement at fashion week in Paris followed by a real photo shoot with Zoolander himself, as well as Owen Wilson has Hansel. And now we have a glimpse at a new character, Zoolander's teenage son, played by Cyrus Arnold. Here's the photo from the set of Zoolander 2 posted on Instagram by Ben Stiller: Meet @cyrusarnold. We reported last month that production is under way on Paramount's long-awaited sequel Zoolander 2, with stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashing the catwalk of Paris' Fashion Week to officially announce the project. With shooting now happening in Rome, Ben Stiller took to his Instagram page today to reveal a new photo from the set, which introduces Cyrus Arnold as his on-screen son, Derek Zoolander Jr. The character was actually revealed at the end of the original Zoolander, when he was just a baby, nearly 14 years ago.
Paramount has not released an official synopsis for Zoolander 2 quite yet, but we know that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are returning as elite male models Derek Zoolander and Hansel, along with Christine Taylor as Derek's wife Matilda Jeffries. Will Ferrell is also expected to return as Mugatu, with Penélope Cruz joining the cast in an unspecified role. Production is »
Filming is currently taking place for Zoolander, and Ben Stiller took some time out to let us known what has changed for the dim witted, really, really good looking male model in the almost fifteen years since the first movie hit the big screen. Most notably, Derek started a family, and the actor shared with Instagram our first look at the son of Zoolander, Cyrus Arnold (from t.v. shows Sam and Cat and About a Boy). Meet @cyrusarnold. Son of Derek. #Zoolander2 A photo posted by Ben Stiller (@benstiller) on Apr 13, 2015 at 3:18am Pdt Next to nothing is known about the sequel, bar Justin Theroux is taking over directing duties from Stiller, and joining Stiller in the returning cast is Christine Taylor, Owen Wilson, and an all but confirmed Will Ferrell. Stiller posted a picture of him as Zoolander alongside young actor Cyrus Arnold (Sam & Cat) in a red sports car as they posed for the snap, but while Derek is still keeping his “magnum” look, Derek Jr. looks decidedly uninterested.
Co-written by Stiller and Justin Theroux (Iron Man 2), who is directing the film, Zoolander 2 stars Stiller alongside the returning Owen Wilson as Hansel, Christine Taylor as Mahtilda and Will Ferrell as the evil Mugatu, although Ferrell’s appearance is rumoured to be only a cameo. Penelope Cruz (Vanilla Sky) and Kristen Wiig (Anchorman 2) also joins the cast, as well as further rumoured cameos from model Cara Delevingne and Oscar Nominee Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street).

We're still a ways away from getting a solid sense of what Zoolander 2 will actually be about, as the sequel isn't slated to hit theaters until February 2016, but a few photos and hints of what is in store have been trickling out over the last few months. There was that rather perfect runway gag that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson played up at Paris's fashion week, and the announcement that the script for the sequel is penned by Stiller's Tropic Thunder collaborator and all-around hilarious heartthrob Justin Theroux. On top of this, we now have a solid glimpse at what Zoolander's progeny might look like, as Stiller posted a photo of newcomer Cyrus Arnold, who will play Zoolander Jr. in the sequel, and himself in Zoolander garb to Instagram earlier today.
