In the wake of Larry Hagman's recent death, TNT's "Dallas" has been working to give the actor -- and his iconic character, J.R. Ewing -- a proper send-off.
According to TV Line, J.R.'s on-screen funeral will take place during the eighth episode of Season 2, to air March 11, and is rumored to feature a number of returning "Dallas" alums, including those who have not yet made appearances on the TNT update. Former stars who were already confirmed to reappear this season include Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark.
Though Hagman had filmed six out of the fifteen episodes ordered for Season 2, producers were reportedly caught off-guard by the actor's passing, and subsequently reworked the season's plot to reflect the situation.

Annie Wersching is on her way to Dallas Season 2.
The veteran actress (24, Rizzoli & Isles, an upcoming role on Body of Proof) will recur on the TNT drama, according to TV Line, as a transportation commissioner.
Look for her (married!) character to possibly get involved with John Ross and/or Christopher.

Annie Wersching, who is perhaps best known as 24‘s plucky FBI agent Renee Walker, next is setting her sights on TNT’s Dallas.

Joan Van Ark and Ted Shackelford will reportedly return to Dallas in the revived series' second season. Shackelford and Van Ark starred in the original Dallas spinoff Knots Landing as Gary Ewing and Val Ewing respectively from 1979 to 1993. The duo will revive their popular characters for a three-episode arc when Dallas returns to TNT early next year, reports TV Guide. Gary and Val last appeared in Southfork during the original Dallas series finale in 1991, where Jr Ewing was shown an alternate version of the world by Satan. Knots Landing proved a solid (more) »

In discussing Interview With the Vampire: Claudia's Story, Anne Rice says about Lestat and Louis "I never thought of it, they were the first vampire same-sex parents." The original headline said they were gay, which Rice never said, and the comments are a furious debate about whether io9.com went too far with that.
After a couple of weeks of discussion about the disparity in sexiness between men's and women's Halloween costumes, Buzzfeed has conceded that gay men like their costumes much like costume manufacturers like their female costumes – sexy. They provide plenty of comparisons.

Gary and Valene Ewing are returning to Southfork. According to TV Guide, Season 2 of "Dallas" will play host to a "Knots Landing" reunion, when Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark guest star on TNT's continuation of the classic series.
They'll reprise their roles for the first time since "Knots Landing" ended in 1993. They last visited "Dallas" for the show's original series finale in 1991, but had been absent from the show since the '80s prior to that episode. TV Guide reports that the show courted the duo last season for cameo appearances, but Shackelford was allegedly holding out for a bigger arc. Apparently, that patience paid off; the pair are currently set for a three-episode storyline.
"Dallas" returns with a two-hour season premiere on January 28, 2013 at 9 p.m. Et on TNT.

Not a word, as such, but Nigellissima is smouldering telly cook Nigella Lawson's love letter to Italy – her "spiritual home", she reckons. It's filmed in a specially constructed replica of her own kitchen, rather than her actual one, a move which seems about as extravagant as some of the recipes she's peddling here. These include a calorific hazelnut chocolate cheesecake, and the "meat-zza". Yes, that's a meat-pizza, which jettisons bread in favour of purest mince. Fans will be pleased to note that lingering camera shots and effusive food descriptions prevail. Ben Arnold

Dallas exec Cynthia Cidre has revealed that she would like to bring more classic characters back to the show. Jr Ewing (Larry Hagman), Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) and Sue Ellen Ewing (Linda Gray) have all reprised their roles in TNT's revamp of the '80s soap. "We're just breaking stories [for season two] now so I don't really know [who we might bring back] yet," Cidre explained to TV Guide. The showrunner named Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford) and Valene Ewing (Joan Van Ark) as two characters she is interested in bringing back. "I just met Joan Van Ark the other day and she was lovely," Cidre admitted. "We tried (more) »

By the 1970s, mankind had finally realized that, as species go, we were pretty much the worst thing to ever happen to the planet – what with treating the natural world as our own personal dumping ground, pumping pollution into the air, and poisoning the waters with chemicals – and so the modern environmental movement was born. Not only was this a hopeful development for the survival of the Earth but it was also terrific news for connoisseurs of B-movies as “eco-horror” became a popular trend and the ‘70s became a decade when – on screen, at least – nature had finally had enough of man’s bullshit.
