NBC’s “Timeless”: Come for the time travel, stay for the ignorance. The coming procedural drama will drag Malcolm Barrett, Matt Lanter and Abigail Spencer back into the past every week. That will be unpleasant at times for the African American Barrett’s character, Rufus. In the pilot, he tackles the unfortunate reality head-on with an epic speech about Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan and Mike Tyson, and how he hopes a bigot from the 1930s lives long enough to appreciate their talents. Of course, that energy (and time-spend) can’t be replicated each hour. “He can’t give a big speech every single episode, »

Andy Samberg will send up the doping scandals of cycling in his new series Tour De Pharmacy...
With writer Murray Miller and director Jake Szymanski, Samberg found a fair bit of success last year with the HBO tennis mockumentary 7 Days In Hell. Now, the network has got the team back together to try and repeat the trick.
Samberg, Miller and Szymanski have been given the green light for Tour De Pharmacy, a comedy series based around blood doping in the world of competitive cycling.
TV Line broke the news, as well as confirming some casting information. Daveed Diggs - who shot to stardom recently in the mega-popular Broadway musical Hamilton - has nabbed a starring role alongside Mr Samberg.
Following on from last year’s 7 Days in Hell, HBO and Andy Samberg are set to reunite for a new sports documentary entitled Tour de Pharmacy, which will tackle the doping scandals in professional cycling.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) is directing from a script by Samberg and Murray Miller (who are also executive producing through their Legends of Sports banner), while Samberg will featuring in the cast alongside Daveed Diggs, Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Will Forte, Dolph Lundgren, John Cena, Mike Tyson, and Nathan Fielder.
- Gary Collinson
This one targets professional cycling, more specifically parodies Lance Armstrong's tainted time on the bike and the prevalence of doping in this world. Like the last film, Jake Szymanski is set to direct while Miller will write and Samberg will star.
Daveed Diggs, Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Will Forte, Dolph Lundgren, John Cena, Mike Tyson and Nathan Fielder are also already attached to co-star. Miller, Samberg, and David Bernad are executive producing the project which has yet to set a production date.
