Britney Spears’ raw vocals for her song “Alien” were leaked on Monday, and many were quick to criticize the singer on her off-key vocals.
"Alien" Producer Defends Spears
The track was rumored to have been the original vocals to the song without auto-tune, but “Alien” producer William Orbit said that the raw vocals that were leaked were just a warm-up.
“I’d like to affirm that Any singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalizations in order to get warmed up. Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warmups. The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners,” Orbit wrote on Facebook, defending Spears.

If you haven't seen this yet, you've got to check it out! It's been on my list of things to watch the last couple of days. I finally got around to watching it, and I wish I would have done it sooner! The video features Rob Cantor impressively singing an original song in 29 different voices. He hits each one of them perfectly, including the female voices such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. It's amazing to hear what this guy can pull off.
Update: This video is actually done by several other voice impersonators that Cantor lip-syncs too. Here's the full list of impersonators. I've also included a making-of video that you can watch.
Gilbert Gauthier: Frank Sinatra
Amanda Gari: Cher, Flipper
Reagan James: Gwen Stefani
Bora Karaca: Whistle

What's one celebrity impression when you can do 29 in less than four minutes - while singing, no less? That's exactly what singer-songwriter Rob Cantor seemed to do in his latest video, but in a newly released behind-the-scenes clip, we learn the truth: Rob had the help of 11 impressionists. As for Rob, he admits, "I cannot do a single celebrity impression." To create the viral video, the impressionists recorded themselves singing Rob's original song called "Perfect," with the group covering everyone from Britney Spears to Adam Sandler to Gwen Stefani. Watch his lip-sync performance in the original video above, then watch the making of the video below. »

Today the internet is up in arms about a leaked vocal track from the Britney Jean recording sessions — an un-Auto-Tuned version of "Alien." Here's what it sounds like:(And, for comparison, here's the actual recording of "Alien.") ... Yeah. In case you were suspicious, it's been confirmed as real by the song's producer, William Orbit, who took to Facebook to defend Spears (who herself has yet to comment): "Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warmups." Yikes. But in case it hasn't been made clear over the past 15 years, pop princess Britney Jean Spears is not the best singer. It's fine! We have our Mariahs, Whitneys, Arethas. Britney is more of a jack of all trades (and master of none) who properly brings »

It's authentic, real, unedited Britney, bitch! The other week, a version of Britney Spears' song "Alien" without auto-tune or editing leaked online, giving fans a chance to hear BritBrit's vocal abilities in the rawest form. However, some aren't so impressed with the 32-year-old pop star's natural singing chops. "I tried but I never figured it out/ Why I always felt like a stranger in a crowd," she sings in the song without any post-recording manipulation. "That was then/ Like an alien/ But the stars in the sky look like home, take me home/ And the light in your eyes lets me know I'm not alone." "Alien" originally appeared on Spears' most recent »
Music producer William Orbit defending the singer's off-key rendition of 'Alien,' insisting that the recording is merely a warm up.
Britney Spears without auto-tune? It’s a peek behind the curtain that fans rarely get a glimpse of – and there’s probably a reason for that.
The singer found herself amid a firestorm of criticism this week as a demo track of her song Alien made its way onto the web. The audio is pretty raw and Spears' vocals are noticeably off-key, but producer William Orbit is jumping to Spears' defense.

A video of Britney Spears singing "Alien" without any Auto-Tune quickly went viral this week, prompting the song's producer to speak out. The video, posted on July 2, features Britney's voice, but producer William Orbit took to Facebook to clarify that the recording was a warmup, writing, "I'd like to affirm that Any singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalisations in order to get warmed up." He added, "The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners." He also gave a shout-out to Britney's talent, saying, "It can in no way detract from the fact that Britney is and always will be beyond stellar! She is magnificent! And that's that." We may be going back to a time when we wore headgear and had acne, but amidst the pubescent awkward phase of our lives, was the glory of pop princesses like Britney Spears and heartthrobs like Nsync totally ruling our worlds.
They’re cheesy, they’re colorful and they’re in many ways completely ridiculous, but only these magazines (that still exist, by the way) truly knew the way to our hearts. They helped us answer questions like: Do I have what it takes to be a Backstreet Boys girl? What do I need to do to have a romance like Britney and Justin’s? Who are the girls the members of New Kids On The Block just can’t live without? Very, very important things. Obviously.

Didn't stay up for Monday night's late night talk shows? Moviefone's got you covered. Here's some of what you might have missed:
"The Tonight Show" was back from a one-week hiatus for the Fourth of July holiday, and host Jimmy Fallon pulled out one of his oldest -- and best -- recurring gags in celebration. Dressed up and singing as Canadian rocker Neil Young, Fallon was backed by none other than Young's former bandmates, Crosby, Stills & Nash, who applied their signature tight harmony sound to Iggy Azalea's "Fancy." Fallon/Young does a fine job reinterpreting the tune on his own, but things really take off around the halfway mark when Csn join in. Just try not to crack a smile.
Also on "Tonight," Kiefer Sutherland discussed the enduring success of "24" -- including its newest iteration, "24: Live Another Day" -- as well as the origins of Jack Bauer's favorite catchphrase, »

The X Factor has been sued by an unsuccessful contestant.
Miller, who first appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2010 as a Britney Spears tribute act, claims that producers urged him to apply for The X Factor and suggested that he could be an act similar to Rylan Clark.
Miller claims that he initially refused to go on The X Factor because he knows he doesn't have a good singing voice, but was persuaded that he "wouldn't be embarrassing" himself by a producer.
He was also reportedly told that this was "an opportunity of a lifetime" and that producers wanted to see him as "an entertainer, someone that can put on a great show", adding that he should wear his Britney Spears outfit.
However, Cowell reportedly mocked his »

It seems like only yesterday the stars of "Jersey Shore" were teaching us the importance of Gtl. But these self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes have moved on from Seaside Heights, NJ. Take Pauly D and the Situation, for instance. Pauly D starred in his own spin-off series, opened for Britney Spears on tour and had a custody war with his baby mama. Meanwhile, the Situation appeared on "Dancing With the Stars," released a workout DVD and got arrested for fighting his brother in a tanning salon. Who are we kidding? They're still the same fist pumpers we met in 2009. To celebrate the Situation's 32nd birthday on July 4 and Pauly's 33rd birthday on July 5, let's take a look at what some other MTV alumni are up to. »
