Animated comedy Hotel Transylvania celebrates our love of monsters.
In the family film, Adam Sandler (That’s My Boy) voices Dracula, who has built the Hotel Transylvania as a place where all monsters, especially his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez, Monte Carlo), can be away from the terrible humans and their pitch forks, garlic and wooden spears. But Mavis wants to get out and see more of the world.
Frankenstein (Kevin James, Zookeeper), Wayne the Wolfman (Steve Buscemi, TV’s Boardwalk Empire), Murray the Mummy (CeeLo Green, Sparkle) and others arrive for her 118th birthday party, as well as an uninvited guest, human hiker Jonathan (Andy Samberg, What’s Your Number?). Trying to convince his daughter that all humans are bad, Dracula tries to hide Jonathan, disguising him as a member of the Stein family, »

WWE Hall of Fame inductee and Redneck Island host "Stone Cold" Steve Austin returned for all-new episodes of his hit reality competition series on Cmt this past Saturday, and we had the pleasure of sitting down with him for a quick chat. During our conversation, we also talked about Steve's role in the first-ever Adam Sandler sequel Grown Ups 2.
Exclusive: Stone Cold Steve Austin: grown Ups 2
"Man, let me tell you something. I had so much fun. I have to laugh out loud. First of all, when I read the script...It's the first script I've ever laughed out loud about. I'm not that guy. When you are sitting there with a script, by yourself, »
It won't be long before we can check in to "Hotel Transylvania" again.
After the animated monster movie did well in theaters following its September 28 release, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Sony has decided to greenlight a sequel for the flick. "Hotel Transylvania 2" is going to hit theaters on September 25, 2015, almost two years to the day after "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2," the studio's other forthcoming animated sequel, is due out.
Though it's good news that the film is coming out, it doesn't seem likely that director Genndy Tartakovsky will return for it. He's currently set to helm Sony's "Popeye" movie, which is slated to hit theaters on September 26, 2014. It doesn't seem likely that he'll be able to juggle both, though we bet that "Hotel Transylvania 2" will do just fine without him at the helm.

Among the autumn ‘toon releases, Hotel Transylvania – which features the voice work of Adam Sandler and several of his actor mates – became a surprise smash, earning more than $253 million worldwide. So you can see why Sony might be looking to get back into the monster tourism business. The studio is now developing a sequel to the movie, and has already scratched September 25, 2015 into its day planner for the Us release. That’s before, of course, it has locked down a writer or even a director.Genndy Tartakovsky, whose bouncy, often loony animation style was the definite highlight of the first movie, has already moved on to his next project, a new take on Popeye that will hit cinemas in 2014. Which, unless Sony can persuade him, means he’s out of the running to direct. But we’d expect Sandler, Kevin James, Andy Samberg, Steve Buscemi, CeeLo Green, David Spade and »
Sony Pictures Animation is moving forward on a sequel to their fall hit Hotel Transylvania, which has already earned more than $250 million at the box office worldwide. The studio has set a September 25, 2015 release date for the animated follow-up.
The studio is currently searching for a new director, since Hotel Transylvania filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky will not be available. We reported in June that Genndy Tartakovsky is making Popeye for the studio, which is set for release on September 26, 2014.
It isn't known if Hotel Transylvania cast members Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, and David Spade will reprise their roles. The original story is set in an ancient resort, built by Dracula (Adam Sandler), for monsters and creatures to relax in. The plot thickens when an adventurous young man (Andy Samberg) becomes the first human to discover the hotel.
Sony Pictures Animation is planning a return trip to Hotel Transylvania . The Hollywood Reporter brings word that an animated sequel has been scheduled for September 25, 2015. The original film, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, featured the voice talents of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade and Jon Lovitz, all of whom are likely (but not yet confirmed) to return. It was released on September 28th of this year and has already pulled in more than $250 million at the worldwide box office. Tartakovsky will not return for the sequel as he's currently committed to bringing Popeye to the screen instead. That film will hit theaters on September 26, 2014. The September date puts the Hotel Transylvania »

Get ready for galloping Grown Ups. Buried in a trade story Thursday about Adam Sandler moving his next comedy from Sony to rival studio Paramount, it was mentioned that the comedian might be planning a Western with his pals. Now Deadline is confirming that The Ridiculous 6 – a riff on The Magnificent Seven, I assume – will be Sandler's next picture, which he’ll co-write (with Tim Herlihy), produce and star in. We have to expect that his familiar cohorts, from Kevin James to Chris Rock and David Spade, will saddle up for 6, which Deadline says already is eyeballing a Spring Break 2014 release. Sandler’s early collaborations with Herlihy produced such oddball comedies as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Little...

Adam Sandler (Hotel Transylvania) will make his own Blazing Saddles. He'll write, produce and star in the comedy western Ridiculous 6. The title sounds a lot like it could be a spoof of the western classic The Magnificent Seven, but Sandler's Happy Madison production company isn't releasing any details. Of course, with the "6" it looks like Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider can count on some work - who wants to bet Schneider plays a Mexican, since he seems to take on a different ethnicity in every Sandler movie (Native American in Bedtime Stories, Asian minister in Here Comes Chuck and Larry, Chinese Waiter in Eight Crazy Nights, Nazo the Italian Delivery Man in Mr. Deeds, etc.)
Sandler will cowrite the film with his long time collaborator and former "SNL" writer Tim Herlihy who has either written or produced most of Sandler's movies. Paramount Pictures will put the movie into »

The time when people were looking forward to the next Adam Sandler film might have been gone for a long time, but his films still make a huge amount of money and therefore we still get a long range of sub-par comedies starring him and his friends. Grown Ups 2 is already in the pipeline and now Sandler has signed on to another project, a comedy western called Ridiculous 6.
This sounds like it might be a send up of The Magnificent Seven and while we don’t know anything about casting and who will direct it, my guess is that it’ll probably be the usual suspects like David Spade, Kevin James and Rob Schneider that’ll round out the cast. I wish that this film could be legitimately funny, but I sadly don’t think it will be.

Hotel Transylvania is still playing in theaters nationwide, and with Halloween approaching, director Genndy Tartakovsky has a special treat for the fans. Regal Cinemas is debuting the filmmaker's new animated short Goodnight, Mr. Foot before all Hotel Transylvania screenings starting Friday, October 26. Take a look at the first three photos from the short, then read all the official details in the press release.
Hotel Transylvania - the record-setting 3D computer-animated monster comedy from Sony Pictures Animation that ranked as the biggest September opening in movie history and the best opening ever for the studio - is releasing a new animated short as a special Halloween treat.
Beginning October 26, all digital showings of Hotel Transylvania in Regal Entertainment Group Cinemas around the country will be preceded with a new traditionally animated short directed by the film's director, 13-time Emmy nominee (and three-time Emmy winner) Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars »
The last time Christina Applegate hosted this show, I was in junior high and discovering Chris Farley for the first time, as Matt Foley bellowed about living in a van down by the river, and David Spade and the girl who played Kelly Bundy (and, more importantly, SueEllen Crandall) struggled to maintain straight faces. Christina mentioned that sketch briefly in her monologue, before delivering a solid enough hosting gig that traded more on her song-and-dance background (Tony-nominated for Sweet Charity, what!) than one might have expected. Certainly that aspect of her career got more attention that her starring role on Up All Night, which meant anyone who was holding out for a cameo by Applegate's co-star Maya Rudolph went to bed disappointed.Palest Reflection of the Original I guess it's not too harsh to say that the actual Vice-Presidential debate was more entertaining than SNL's take on it in »

Breaking records in the Us last month, topping the box office with the biggest September opening of all time, Hotel Transylvania is released in the UK today, and Adam Sandler has been playing host on ‘Monster TV’ ahead of its arrival, a You’ve Been Framed!-esque show to introduce us to his Dracula character.
Sandler, Selena Gomez, and Andy Samberg lead the impressive voice cast, with support coming from the likes of Steve Buscemi, Kevin James, David Spade, Jon Lovitz, Cee-Lo Green, Fran Descher, and Molly Shannon.
“Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. Sony Pictures Animation have given us this rather brilliant featurette which gives us a closer look of their new movie Hotel Transylvania. In the featurette, we get to see where the overall look of the movie came from and where that inspiration came from. It talks us through the visual style that was gathered from the trips to real-life Transylvania that were undertaken to make the movie as authentic as possible. The featurette is fascinating and shows us just how much detail goes into a making a movie like Hotel Transylvania. It goes on to talk about the trees, the characters, the food and loads more that will give you details in how the world came together. Enjoy it by watching below.

After an angry mob of humans kills his wife, Dracula (Sandler) sets up a place for the world’s monsters to come and enjoy peace and safety – in the castle walls of Hotel Transylvania. It also becomes a sanctuary set up for his daughter (Gomez) whose desire to see the outside world is invigorated all-the-more once a human (Samberg) finds his way into the hotel and shows them all a different side to life.
Director Genndy Tartakovsky has a very recognisable style – pure energy and frantic movement à la the cartoon mayhem of something like Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry – but for a film like Hotel Transylvania it becomes too disorientating. From the man who has directed episodes of The Powerpuff Girls, »

The ‘Taste of St. Louis’ festival took place over the weekend at Soldier’s Field in in downtown St. Louis. Families were basking in the fantastic weather and enjoying food from booths set up by various local reataurants. If you wonder where monsters go on the weekends, they were Not at the Hotel Transylvania. They were there at ‘Taste of St. Louis’ and things took an ugly turn when Frankenstein, Dracula, and Dracula’s daughter Mavis showed up and started eating children!
As you can see by these photos taken at the bloodbath, everyone was horrified and screaming in terror!
Actually, it wasn’t even Frankenstein but Johnny Stein, the character from the excellent new animated kids film Hotel Transylvania (read the Wamg review Here) alongside Drac and Mavis and I didn’t seeing any kids afraid of these monsters because they’re all sorta cute and cuddly. A fun time was had by all! »
