James Van Der Beek and Kerr Smith are looking back at filming Dawson’s Creek and recalled some death-defying experiences they had on jet skis at the time.
This week, the two actors told People magazine at 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, that things would sometimes get a bit wild behind the scenes of the hit teen drama when they were filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.
“A couple of the guys on the crew had boats and you know we had the guest stars come in and the writers come in every episode and we would take them out on the water on the weekends,” Smith, who played Jack McPhee, recalled. “We’d stop and eat crab in the morning yet. And we’d fill up the boats with whatever we needed. We would barbecue out on the island. We all had jet skis.”

It’s always a good time to revisit the “Final Destination” movies, one of the goriest, most (re)watchable horror franchises of all time.
The cast of characters trying to dodge Death in each film changes (for the most part), but the enigmatic and menacing coroner William Bludworth (“Candyman” star Tony Todd) is in every installment except the fourth movie.
Here’s where you can stream all five movies, where people who survived catastrophic disasters are killed off in inventively gruesome ways.
Tony Todd in “Final Destination” (New Line Cinema)
“Final Destination” (2000)
In the first film, student Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) has a terrifying vision that the plane his French class is taking to Paris will explode, killing everyone. He freaks out and leaves the plane, as do several other students and one teacher. The flight does, in fact, go up in flames … and then people begin dying in the...

It’s been 25 years “Dawson’s Creek” premiered. In honour of the huge milestone, Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek, took to Instagram to reflect on the show that made him a star.
“25 years ago today… my life changed. Not gradually, not day-by-day… instantly,” Van Der Beek wrote alongside a throwback pic of himself. “It was the culmination of 5 years of auditioning, hundreds of hours on stage, thousands of hours traveling, preparing, dreaming, hoping, hearing ‘no,’ and making up reasons to keep going. But the shift was overnight.”

CoNic shippers are rejoicing!
It was a lot to love about The Resident Season 4 Episode 2, but one of the biggest shockers was Conrad and Nic's baby news!
Join TV Fanatics Carissa Pavlica, Meaghan Frey, and Rachel Foertsch as they discuss the hour.
CoNic is pregnant! Do you think it's too soon or perfect timing? Are you excited? Worried?
Carissa: I'm not sure. I Hope this isn't a "miscarriage throws a wrench into their relationship" trope because it's overused and offensive. If they write in the pregnancy, then let's have a baby CoNic. That's where I stand, no matter how it plays out.
Meaghan: Like Carissa, I am Praying they do not go down the miscarriage route. CoNic have endured so many bumps in the road already, and that would feel like such a slap in the face when they literally just got their happy ending. Give them at least a...

Below, TV Fanatics Becca Newton, Meaghan Frey, and Jasmine Peterson debate Mr. Honey's secret soft side, the discovery of a new murderous tape, and their thoughts of Riverdale Season 4 as a whole.
Jughead created a short story about the group kidnapping and accidentally killing Mr. Honey. Did you like the story and how it progressed?

Plus, it led to one of Riverdale’s better character moments—still rushed and underexplored, but it was very good by Riverdale standards.
Meaghan: I loved everything about watching Jughead develop the story. It was twisted, but isn't Riverdale always a little bit twisted?

Season four of Riverdale has been a hard-fought battle between our favorite moody teens and the powers that be. Whether they're taking on a squad of malicious private school preppies or butting heads with Riverdale High's Principal Honey, the core four have had their work cut out for them. And the May 6 episode is gearing up to be another major showdown with a twist. But the forthcoming chapter has two added layers of value: since Riverdale halted production due to coronavirus concerns, the episode is now the finale (cutting the season short by three airings) and it's directed by Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper.
In an interview with Popsugar, Amick spoke about her network directorial debut and how she ended up behind the CW camera. "Directing is something that I wanted to do most of my career," she said. "I started directing music videos [including 2016's "Kings & Queens" by her daughter, Mina, and 2017's "Spoken" by her son, Sylvester], which...

This is not your typical Riverdale finale. First of all, it was directed by star Madchen Amick in her directorial debut. Second of all, it wasn't meant to be a Riverdale finale in the first place. Production was forced to shut down due to the pandemic with two and a half episodes left to film, so instead of a reveal-packed hour meant to solve some mysteries and set up some new ones for the next season, tonight's finale is a different kind of story. It follows nearly all of the Riverdale High students we know and love facing off against Principal Honey (Kerr Smith) when he tries to cancel prom, which for them is just the last straw in terms of things he's canceled. But at the same time, Jughead has to...

When Mädchen Amick finally got her chance to step behind the camera to helm an episode of “Riverdale,” she expected her challenges to be shooting a high volume of short scenes that ate away at the production days and having to juggle wearing multiple hats when acting in scenes she was also directing. What she could not have anticipated was that she was going to have to finish editing the episode remotely after the coronavirus pandemic shut down the industry, nor that her episode would suddenly be turned into the fourth season finale of the CW drama.

Little Fires Everywhere has no shortage of plot twists. Between infidelity, adolescent obstacles, and heated custody battles, there's a lot going on. Perhaps the most surprising revelation, however, involves a cameo that never even came to fruition: in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Liz Tigelaar revealed the limited series almost featured a Dawson's Creek reunion. "I Don't Want to Wait" softly plays in the background.
"It was going to be too distracting for Jack and Pacey to be reunited."
As many viewers will already know, Joshua Jackson, who portrays patriarch Bill Richardson on Little Fires, famously played Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek. We've now just discovered that Tigelaar, who actually got her start as an assistant on the early-aughts teen drama, was also close to casting fellow alum Kerr Smith, who portrayed Jack McPhee, on Little Fires. “Riverdale” is nothing if not a wicked little town so quite fittingly, in Season 4, the cast tackled “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” for its musical episode. And once again, Kevin Keller, played by Casey Cott, took center stage, this time in full Hedwig drag, a process Cott called “incredible.”
“It was very humbling to do drag for the first time, and drag is a pop culture sensation right now with so many incredible performers. Obviously, RuPaul is unbelievable,” Cott told Variety on the “Variety After-Show,” although he added that he couldn’t “tie the shoes” of any of the competitors seen on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
The CW series’ third musical episode (they have tackled “Carrie” and “Heathers” in the past) certainly did not disappoint. When Kevin tries to do a “Hedwig” number for the school variety show, Principal Honey (Kerr Smith) threatens to cancel the event, declaring it inappropriate.

This Riverdale review contains spoilers.
Riverdale Season 4 Episode 17
“We are relentlessly slammed with crisis after crisis.”
A few years back, Twitter exploded with the (almost certainly apocryphal) story of a high school performance of Rent which took some serious creative liberties. Here, instead of dealing with AIDS, the characters in Jonathan Larson’s 1990s boho rewrite of La Boheme were coping with diabetes…and the show now had Roger and Mimi forgoing Azt breaks to have their beepers reminding them to take insulin.
I bring this up not to make light of any disease – indeed, I wouldn’t even attempt gallows humor involving any ailment given our terrifying current situation – but mainly to illustrate how even the slightest change to a beloved source material can ultimately dishonor it.. This was a concern that popped into my mind when I heard that Riverdale would be making the decidedly adult-themed Hedwig and the Angry Inch...

Created by veteran writer/artist Dan Parent in 2010, Kevin Keller was the first Lgbtq+ character in Archie Comics history. Kevin was an immediate sensation, and a further reminder of how welcoming of a place that Riverdale is. When the CW gave the comics a brooding makeover with Riverdale seven years later, Kevin made the jump to television as a core part of the series’ supporting cast . In the show, Kev has dealt with everything from getting involved with an organ-harvesting cult to having a one-time boyfriend die as a part of a murderous real-life role-playing game.
Yeah, Riverdale is wild.
Portraying the clean-cut high schooler with a penchant for hook-up apps is Casey Cott, a 27-year-old actor whose involvement on Riverdale was his first major role. Although Kevin has been sidelined for most of this season thanks to the recently resolved storyline about Jughead’s death, the character is back...

Hedwig and the Angry Inch lyricist Stephen Trask was itching to collaborate when a friend gave him some pivotal advice: “Reach out to someone whose work you admire.”
An avid fan of teen TV shows Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Trask dropped a line to series developer and Cco of Archie comics Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, inquiring if he might contribute music to the Archie reimagining. What resulted was perhaps one of the most ambitious and strange musical episodes of a TV show to date — after Buffy the Vampire Slayer...

From the people that brought you Carrie and Heathers, comes Riverdale's next musical episode: Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Yes, you read that right. After the previous musical debacles, Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) revives Riverdale High's variety show. But when Mr. Honey (Kerr Smith) forbids him from performing a musical number from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Riverdale kids rally against the principal and each perform a number from the musical. Each performance represents the characters' inner struggles. Look for a forbidden showmance to blossom amidst all the drama. "Musical episodes have become a yearly tradition on Riverdale, but this year, we wanted to try something different," Roberto...

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 2
"After everything I've lived through, I don't think going back to text books and cafeteria politics is really my scene"
With this line, Mad Dog sums up the problem with tonight's Riverdale.
Following seasons packed with serial killers, cults, and murderous Rpgs, it's hard to care about the stories of typical teenage life that this episode places front and center. How can we possibly be concerned with things like football practice when we already have seen Archie nearly murdered by a bear while on the run from his girlfriend's drug kingpin father? I'm sorry, but as a viewer I'm just not capable of the cognitive dissonance required in order to buy what this episode is selling.

Riverdale executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced at Sunday's Comic-Con 2019 panel that the season four premiere will feature a special tribute to Luke Perry. Perry's longtime friend and former costar Shannen Doherty will guest star in a special role in the episode, which will air Wednesday, October 9 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on The CW. Entitled "Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam," the season premiere will reflect Luke Perry's enduring legacy and the indelible imprint his character, Fred Andrews, had on Riverdale.
The casting of Doherty continues her long association with Perry, which started in 1990 on Beverly Hills, 90210, and continued for nearly 30 years. Perry and Aguirre-Sacasa had long planned for Doherty to appear on Riverdale. Her presence on the series "is something that Luke wanted to happen since season one," said Aguirre-Sacasa. Riverdale Season 4 Episode 1 is titled "Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam" and serves as a tribute to Luke Perry and Fred Andrews.
After Perry died suddenly of a stroke in March, Riverdale decided to use the Riverdale Season 4 premiere as a reflection of Perry's and the impact his character Fred had on Riverdale.
While details are minimal, Perry's friends and former Beverly Hills 90210 castmate Shannen Doherty will be a part of the episode.
It's unclear whether she'll be playing a character or serving in some other capacity, but it's going to make an already moving episode even more so.

Luke Perry is gone, but the Riverdale actor will be remembered with a special tribute for the show’s Season 4 debut with a blast-from-the-past guest star, Comic-Con learned today.

New Line is reviving its “Final Destination” franchise, which has been dormant since 2011, and has tapped “Saw” screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to write the sixth installment.
The five films grossed nearly $700 million worldwide between 2000 and 2011. Unlike most horror franchises, the antagonist was Death as an unavoidable fate manifesting itself in a myriad of ways. In the first “Final Destination,” a high school student played by Devon Sawa has a premonition the plane he’s about to board will explode, leading to several passengers being left behind before the plane actually explodes. The survivors are then killed in a series of bizarre accidents, such as Kerr Smith’s character being crushed by a neon sign.
New Line’s most successful recent movies have been in the relatively low-cost horror genre. Those include the adaptation of Stephen King’s “It,” which hit $700 million in worldwide box office, and in the “Conjuring” universe,...

The Avatars
Agent Kyle Brody (Kerr Smith) spent the better part of a season trying to prove these guys were bad, bad, bad news and responsible for the death of his parents. Once he found out that wasn’t true, he was still not here for them remaking the world to be a place without good and evil. He wasn’t able to convince the Charmed Ones in time and they did help the Avatars go through with their plan — but they regretted it later and turned the clock back. It’s hard to say if they were truly “bad” in the end, but they definitely rank toward the top in terms of a “big” threat.

He killed Prue on the Source’s orders. Like, he Killed. Prue. So, yeah, he hits high on the list here.
