In a post on her personal blog earlier this month, Melissca Schuman of the early 2000s girl group Dream claims that Carter raped her when she was 18 years old and he was 22.
In an emotional and graphic essay, Schuman says she was invited over to Carter's house during a day off from the movie they were co-starring in. She claims that after arriving at his apartment with a friend, they listened to the singer's new music before he allegedly brought her into the bathroom, where she claims they started kissing.
Schuman, who says she was a virgin at the time, claims Carter started unbuttoning her pants, disregarding her objections before allegedly performing oral sex on her. She claims he then demanded she perform oral sex on him, writing, "My thought was the only way to get out was to get him to finish what he had started."

On Sunday, Crews, 49, shared a screenshot of an email he allegedly received from Simmons about the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor’s claims that he was sexually assaulted by agent Adam Venit.
In the message, Simmons allegedly urged Crews to “give the agent a pass ask that he be reinstated.”
“Message Russell Simmons sent to me regarding my sexual assault case against Adam Venit of @Wme,” Crews wrote alongside the image before adding: “Dear @UncleRUSH — No One Gets A Pass.
Model Keri Claussen Khalighi claims that in 1991, Simmons and Ratner took her out for dinner in New York, and then they returned to Simmons' apartment to watch a music video the pair were working on. There, she alleges that Simmons made unwanted advances on her, and claims that when she asked Ratner for help, he "just sat there and watched."
“I fought it wildly,” Khalighi tells the newspaper about Simmons' alleged attempt to have intercourse with her.
She claims to the L.A. Times that Simmons eventually coerced her to perform oral sex, and also alleges that he briefly penetrated her without her consent after she went to take a shower.
Simmons vehemently denied the allegations in a statement on his website.

She told the Times that Simmons and Ratner took her to dinner before suggesting they go back to Simmons’ apartment to watch a music video they’d been working on; once there, Khalighi alleges, Simmons made sexual advances toward her and tore off her clothes.

“If you ask me, now, do I feel good? Do I feel like I have justice? No,” Munn said. “I’m thankful that we’re in this moment where our voices actually matter. But I don’t feel like there’s actually an awakening of consciousness in Hollywood. There’s an understanding that there will be backlash

Terri Goddard, a former assistant at New Line, said that Ratner was notorious around the office for ogling the assistants, invading their space, and making them uncomfortable. His behavior was sufficiently persistent and unwelcome that she and several other employees complained to the human resources department.
“It’s humiliating to be objectified when you’re trying to do your work,” she said. “People were just appalled.”
Goddard said that Ratner’s behavior stopped after she and the other assistants complained to New Line’s Hr department, and that it appeared the company had talked to him about the allegations. A second employee, who also complained to Hr, said that Ratner called her a few days later to confront her about why she had reported him.
Prosecutors declined to press charges in the case, citing insufficient evidence.
The alleged victim has not been identified. According to police records, the 29-year-old woman came into the department to file a report at 4:45 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 3, 2001. She alleged that two men held her against her will and that both touched her unlawfully, according to police.
She contended that the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. that morning at a home in the 1200 block of Benedict Canyon Drive. Ratner’s home, known as Hilhaven Lodge, is on the same block. At the time of the incident, Ratner was coming off the biggest hit of his career with “Rush Hour 2.”
