Helford said he has been a big fan of Shelton ever since his now 13-year-old daughter asked him to watch the 2001 teen comedy Sugar & Spice, which starred Shelton. "I thought this Marley Shelton is really funny and she's really pretty, which you don't find very often," Helford said. He immediately pursued Shelton for a TV project, but the actress was not interested at the time as she was focused on her feature career. »
