Momentum Pictures has released the third trailer for Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers, along with a new poster, which brings back Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) and his outlandish friend Pat (Jay Baruchel), with Baruchel making his directorial debut here. Entertainment Weekly debuted this trailer and the new poster for Goon 2, following the first two trailers that debuted in November 2016 and in February 2017, respectively. At that time, though, only the Canadian release had been announced, with the sequel hitting theaters on March 17 in Canada. »

Duncan Bowles Jul 7, 2017

Exclusive: Jay Baruchel confirms to us that Goon 2 will be arriving in the UK this September...

Over the years, we’ve often championed the beautifully violent and big hearted Goon, which starred Seann William Scott, Alison Pill, Liev Schreiber and Jay Baruchel himself, to name a few. While the sequel, Last Of The Enforcers has already been released in Canada, we were still waiting for it to make its fist-flinging way to this side of the Atlantic, but confirmation of the UK release date has come from Mr Baruchel during a new interview we've done with him about his appointment to and acquisition of Chapterhouse Comics in Canada.

‘Southland Tales’ Could Be Getting ‘Expanded’ Re-Release, Teases Richard Kelly

30 March 2017 9:03 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Good news for “Southland Tales” fans: the 2007 fantasy thriller could be getting an expanded re-release. In an interview with Vulture, director Richard Kelly discussed the possibility of his surreal feature getting some form of re-release, and an “expanded” one at that.

Southland Tales” is set in post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in the then near future of 2008. The country goes into chaotic mode after an explosion on July 4, and small gangs take over the cities. In La, a group of rebels launch a scientific experiment to duplicate people’s identity. And that’s just the beginning of Kelly’s unique — and maligned — creative vision. When the film was released, it was widely bashed by critics and audiences alike, and still holds a dismal 36% Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

A few years ago, an eclectic team of American and Canadian filmmakers teamed up for Goon. The Canadian comedy told the story of Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott), a bouncer turned minor league hockey enforcer, and the bruised and bloodied ice warriors that fought with and against him.

Canadian hockey fan Jay Baruchel co-wrote the script and played Doug’s friend Pat, while other Canucks like Alison Pill, Eugene Levy and Marc-André Grondin rounded out the cast. Former NHL tough guy Georges Laraque even had a cameo. But one of the most unexpected cast members may have been American Liev Schreiber (Spotlight, TV’s Ray Donovan) as enforcer Ross “The Boss” Rhea. »
