Claire Danes may be the woman to beat for Best TV Drama Actress at the Golden Globes. She's nominated for her role as bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison on Showtime's critically acclaimed thriller "Homeland," which recently ended its first season to record ratings for the premium cable network. It would be the third Globe victory for Danes, who is currently two-for-two, winning this category in 1994 for "My So-Called Life" and TV Movie/Miniseries Actress last year for "Temple Grandin." Unlike the Emmys, where new programs are often at a disadvantage against familiar favorites, the Golden Globes embrace the latest hits. Ingenues Keri Russell (1998, "Felicity"), Jennifer Garner (2001, "Alias"), and Anna Paquin (2008, "True Blood") all won TV Drama Actress for their show's first seasons, as did respected veterans Geena Davis (2005, "Commander-in-Chief") and Glenn Close (2007, "Damag »
Confession time: TV Fanatic was late to the Happy Endings game. We didn't even start covering the sitcom until a few weeks ago.
But we couldn't be more on board at this point, as evidenced by the following midseason report card, courtesy of super fan/critic, Leigh Raines. Compare it to our assessment of its ABC brethren, Modern Family, and evaluate the hilarious series now...
Favorite Character: Max. Adam Pally, enough said. Next question.
Least Favorite Character: Alex. She’s not a bad character At All. I just think she’s underdeveloped. I hope to see more from her.
Favorite Episode: “The Code War." The work wife and Brad’s multiple names for Vanessa were great, but Max and Dave took the cake. Plus, I think/hope everyone learned a really important lesson: Never date your best friend’s ex... unless you want to look like Keri Russell when she »

Huma Abedin, wife of sexting scandalized former Congressman Anthony Weiner, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday, their first child.
Jordan Zane Weiner weighed 7 pounds, and of course, his arrival caused all kinds of catchy headlines, such as the NY Post's "A Little Weiner," and "Baby Boy for Huma and Louse."
The couple's first baby caps off a trying year for the political husband and wife, after Weiner's lewd Twitter photos surfaced, along with »
Producer J.J. Abrams has established a great tradition within the "Mission: Impossible" franchise: in the last two "M:i" installments, Abrams has called in fan-favorite actors from his television past for brief but awesome roles. First Keri Russell popped into "Mission: Impossible III" in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it death scene, and today's newest movie — "Ghost Protocol" — introduces "Lost" veteran Josh Holloway to the franchise. Exactly what purpose the former James "Sawyer" Ford plays in the new "Mission" remains to be seen, but no matter how big or small his role, we're psyched to have him on board.
With Holloway following Russell's lead, we started wondering which other Abrams vets we'd like to see in future "Mission: Impossible" movies. Our wish list is past the jump!

One of the stranger entries on the Sundance 2012 line-up in the Premieres category announced yesterday was a film titled Goats, indeed involving goats, and a Goat Man of sorts, played by David Duchovny. This ensemble comedy is actually about a 15-year-old kid, played by Graham Phillips who you might recognize from Evan Almighty or Ben 10 or "The Good Wife", who leaves his Tuscon home to attend Gates Academy, an East Coast prep school. The cast includes Vera Farmiga, Ty Burrell, Keri Russell, Minnie Driver and Justin Kirk. We've got four first look photos via Collider to go along with the exciting Sundance news. Here's the description from Sundance: Ellis (Phillips) leaves his unconventional desert home to attend the disciplined and structured Gates Academy. There, he re-connects with his estranged father and for the first time questions the family dynamics. But IMDb says, this means leaving behind Wendy, his flaky, »

What do Jennifer Garner ("Alias"), Keri Russell ("Felicity"), Claire Danes ("My So-Called Life") and America Ferrera ("Ugly Betty") all have in common -- they were all hip, young actresses when they scored victory at the Golden Globes during their inaugural television seasons. This season, the fresh face on the block is Zooey Deschanel from the top-rated Fox comedy "New Girl." While Deschanel is no stranger to television (having starred in the 2007 miniseries "Tin Man") this is her first regular TV gig. And if she's successful at the Golden Globes, it would be her first major awards recognition. On "New Girl," Deschanel plays Jess, the nerdy school teacher who breaks up with her boyfriend and moves in with three guys. The show is the perfect comedic mix of laugh-out-loud moments and squirm-inducing awkwardness. Matt Roush (TV Guide) praised Deschenal's performance, writing that she&# »

For those of you who didn't spend the week off from Happy Endings with multiple viewings of Elisha Cuthbert's The Girl Next Door (thanks, E!), I hope "The Code War" helped make it up to you. Was it just me or was Brad's dialogue on fire this week?
Maybe it was his whole monologue with the different nicknames he had for Vanessa, but Brad had me cracking up more than usual. Too bad his work wife didn't find it as funny as I did. Oops, I meant work daughter.
The only thing that saved Brad during that embarrassing mix up was the presence of Steve the Hr guy. People say that confidence is a sexy attribute, but there was nothing sexy about those tighty whitey underwear and his abuse of power as the head of Hr. Skeeve! I would Not wanna work for him!

#24. Goats - Christopher Neil While cinephiles await "Coppola" output this year from Roman (who is finally going to second his Cq debut) it is Francis Ford's nephew Christopher Neil who may get to showcase his coming-of-age comedy first. After holoding onto the book rights for almost a decade, this is already in the can and has an ensemble of Sundance vets (Vera Farmiga, Ty Burrell, David Duchovny, Keri Russell , Minnie Driver, Justin Kirk and Dakota Johnson) and features what could be the fest's breakout star in the young Graham Phillips. Look for Goats to perhaps receive a Premieres showing. Gist: Based on Mark Poirier's novel, Fifteen-year-old Ellis is getting ready to leave his luxurious home in the foothills of Tucson for his freshman year at Gates Academy, an East Coast prep school. This means leaving behind Wendy, his flaky, new age mother and the only real father he has ever known, »

Jessica Simpson had her mom Tina by her side as she arrived at JFK this afternoon. Jessica and Tina spent the last few days with Ashlee in NYC where they worked on their new teen clothing collection. Jessica also has her new venture, BeautyMint, in the works and the website is set to launch next week. Jessica's time in the Big Apple wasn't all about work though since the Simpson ladies also went shopping at Bergdorf Goodman and dined out with Ashlee's son Bronx. Jessica's noticeable bump is still the subject of speculation about whether or not she and fiancé Eric Johnson are expecting, but the star has yet to comment on the subject. If Jessica is pregnant, she would join the many current Hollywood moms-to-be, including Jennifer Garner, Beyoncé Knowles, Keri Russell, and others. View Slideshow › »

Jennifer's just one of many Hollywood moms-to-be including Beyoncé Knowles, Keri Russell, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Ben and Jennifer were also out together yesterday, when they grabbed breakfast with their youngest daughter, Seraphina. Ben's busy schedule filming Argo seems to have lightened up a bit, but he's still sporting long hair and a scruffy beard for his big-screen character. His working streak will continue even when he wraps his latest project since Ben already has a new movie in the works with pal Matt Damon. View Slideshow › »
