Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell didn't experience love at first sight. The couple, who also star on The Americans together, met 10 years before working together, but Rhys might have some regrets about how he first try to get Russell's attention. "We actually met a very long long time ago," he confessed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. "I very drunkenly asked her for her number when she was a young, single, slip of a thing, so I sort of knew then when I was 26." While sipping beers on the late-night show, Rhys and Russell continued to tell their love saga. The Welsh actor admitted the entire exchange took place in a parking lot, which he jokingly described as "very »

FX Networks Upfront: Stars Hit the Lanes for Bowling, Banter and Beer

7 April 2017 4:31 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

FX Networks’ upfront gathering in New York on Thursday night was short on ad sales pitches and long on pitchers — of Guinness, Sam Adams, Corona et al — as stars turned out to bowl and banter with media buyers.

The company’s typically off-kilter event was held at Lucky Strike Manhattan. It followed a screening at the Sva Theater of the premiere of “Fargo’s” third season, which bows April 19.

Ewan McGregor, who toplines this season of “Fargo,” showed some flair with his bowling technique. The casts of “The Americans,” “You’re the Worst” and “Archer” were among those who were out in force in bowling shoes. Chris Geere of “You’re the Worst” gleefully ran over to take a selfie with McGregor, a fellow U.K-er. Darren Criss was all smiles as he made the rounds and talked of his preparations to play the killer in “American Crime Story: Versace,” which »

‘Americans,’ ‘Fargo,’ ‘House of Cards’ Among Series in Pre-Emmy Voting Pileup

4 April 2017 2:28 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When it comes to the film awards season, the march to Oscar is often littered with a bottleneck of prestige movie releases at the end of the year. Contenders with high hopes clamor for the attention of Academy voters in October, November and December, just before ballots go out, while few risk earlier releases, lest they be forgotten when the year-end awards movie glut hits.

Well, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander: Television networks appear to be increasingly applying similar logic to series aiming for Emmy recognition by the TV Academy.

Take FX’s “The Americans,” for example. Widely considered “one of the best shows you’re not watching,” it’s an excellent drama that consistently came up short with Emmy voters — until last year, when FX gave it a premiere date that brought it closer to the balloting window and, presumably, helped keep it top of mind for voters.

WB Announces Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition On Blu-Ray

29 March 2017 10:09 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With the Wonder Woman live action movie set to arrive in theaters in just over two months, it’s understandable that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment will want to put out as much merchandise bearing the likeness of the Amazon Princess as possible. One item in particular that’s worthy of attention is that of the forthcoming Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition.

Truth be told, it’s technically not a new offering, but rather a repackaging of the amazing animated film originally released back in 2009. Unfortunately, no R-rated cut will be included as was previously reported. Despite any second guessing you may have, do know that one exists out there somewhere, as the filmmakers have admitted they had to make some alterations in order to get the PG-13 rating because, at the time, WB didn’t afford as much leeway with mature content as they do now.

13 Times Keri Russell Oozed Cool, Laid-Back City Girl

23 March 2017 10:50 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

It's been a long time since Keri Russell's Felicity days, but the actress is still traipsing around New York City like a breath of fresh air. These days, though, Keri primarily hangs in Brooklyn with her family: her boyfriend and The Americans costar, Matthew Rhys; their baby boy, Sam; and Keri's daughter Willa and son River from her previous marriage to Shane Deary. Besides being a total fashion inspiration and bringing her sartorial excellence to the red carpet, Keri also happens to be a down-to-earth borough babe - she's often spotted riding her bike around town like any other normal, cool city girl and has been photographed doing the school drop-off, schlepping paint samples while pregnant, and picking up beer on a hot Summer day. We're paying homage to Keri's low-profile Brooklyn lifestyle and rounding up all the times she made us proud to be city girls, too. »
