Scarlett Johansson never thinks about her marriage. The 28-year-old actress admits she loved her union with Ryan Reynolds - who she wed in September 2008, and split from just over two years later - and has now realised a successful relationship doesn't necessarily have to mean being married. She said: 'I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It's hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn't mean you have to be married. I never think about marriage. Is that weird? The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me.' 2012: Odd spots

28 December 2012 4:07 PM, PST | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Was 2012 the year of the misjudged movie cameo?

Ryan Reynolds in Ted

As any lazy writer (hello) will tell you, if a joke's worth making, it's worth making twice. Seth MacFarlane already had Ryan Reynolds play gay in Family Guy, and he cameos as a sexy, silent, "Van Wilder lookalike" in Ted. Ha ha! Again.

Aziz Ansari in Shut Up And Play The Hits

The comedian didn't even mean to be in the LCD Soundsystem farewell film; he was talked into crowdsurfing by a mate at the gig. Aziz says it was "fun". Because it's not a good night out until you've been groped, lost your phone and wallet and kicked at least three people in the head.

Two weeks before shooting and still no approved Deadpool look... We arranged for Ryan Reynolds to come to Adi for a makeup test to develop the basic template for the not-yet fully formed Deadpool. Keep in mind for the screen version he was pulled from the medical process early, so in the film, Wade is actually pre-Deadpool. At this point, unknown if the story goes to the next step... Studio Adi - Alec Gillis (Left) and Tom Woodruff Jr. (Right) Special effects company, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (Adi), was founded in 1988 by Stan Winston alumni Tom Woodruff, Jr. and Alec Gillis. Geek Girl Navigating the World – Have Fun Stormin’ the Castle!

26 December 2012 11:08 AM, PST | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

I am one of those Geeks who, when they see the name of a store that sells spices and spice is in the name automatically thinks “The spice must flow.”  Sadly, I also know that more than half of the people around me on a regular basis would have about the same chance of understanding the reference as Steve Rogers.  That’s not a thing that I dwell on too much.  We can’t all be Geeks and Geek culture isn’t for everyone.  Sometimes, it requires a bit more dedication than the average person would be willing to put in.

There are times that being a Geek means you follow your favorite actors from project to project and hope like heck that this latest one actually catches on, because you’re desperate to see something they’re in last for more than a single season.  Being a Geek often requires that you be hopeful, »

What does Christopher Lambert think of the new Highlander reboot? Can there be only one???

23 December 2012 11:56 PM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Let’s face it…First of all, 1986′s “Highlander” was a pretty damn good movie.  It was dark, gritty, and the cinematography along with the music and even the acting made for a pretty good 80′s flick (This is probably one of the few times I will give acting props to Christopher Lambert).  Now aside from the Horrid sequels and in my opinion, a sub-par TV series, a reboot has been in the works for the last year or so and has recently acquired actor Ryan Reynolds and director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.  Now with that combo, and I am in no way a Fan of Mr. Reynolds, he is a better supporting actor than a film-carrying star (He proved this with “Green Lantern”), and the shooting style of Mr. Fresnadillo proved for an interesting mix and would hopefully be a fresh take on the “Highlander” story. Unfortunately, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo left the project recently, »

Christopher Lambert Talks ‘Highlander’ Reboot

23 December 2012 9:16 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Christopher Lambert may have an extensive list of credits to his name, but to a certain fanbase, he will forever be remembered as Connor MacLeod, the character he portrayed in the 1986 cult classic Highlander (and several of its sequels). However, in the age of remakes and reboots, there can’t be only one.

We’ve heard for a while that Ryan Reynolds is on board to headline the new take on the franchise. That project has recently hit a snag with the loss of director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later). While it’s too early to assume that the project is dead in the water, it does – for now, at least – appear to be in development hell.

Recently, Lambert was asked about his thoughts on that project and whether ...

Dreamworks’ ‘Turbo’ Trailer Is Super Slow

21 December 2012 11:30 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

And I don’t mean slow in a bad way. Turbo is just one of Ryan Reynolds’ vocal performances in an animation released next year along with The Croods. Turbo focuses on a snail that loves to race. Only problem being, that he is of course, a snail. This first trailer is everything a good teaser should be. It first introduces us to a Formula 1 race with Reynolds giving us a voice-over. If the footage were in live-action I most certainly would have taken it seriously. We then cut to Turbo the snail as he begins his own race. Which takes a very long time indeed. It made me laugh, Reynolds’ performance sounds perfect, and best of all, the animation looks gorgeous. This could be a bit of another hit for Dreamworks.

Turbo is released 19th July 2013 in the Us and 18th October in the UK. It stars the vocal talents of Ryan Reynolds, »

Witness the Kevin Bacon Portrait Made of Bacon

21 December 2012 8:00 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Well this was certainly inevitable… Deliciously Inevitable, that is.

Kevin Bacon, actor, musician, and subject of annoying party games in basements all over the world, has been immortalized in a portrait made entirely out of rich, succulent bacon.

This brilliant and on-the-nose piece was concocted by mosaic artist Jason Mecier (courtesy of LikeCool), who has also previously churned out portraits of Jerry Seinfeld made out of cereal, and one of Condeleezza Rice made out of rice.

The "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" icon, who was last seen as an evil Nazi mutant in "X-Men: First Class," will tackle another comic book adaptation next year with the Ryan Reynolds/Jeff Bridges vehicle "R.I.P.D." Hopefully we'll also get to see him in another hypothetical Mecier artwork: The poster of "Footloose" made entirely out of shoes.

Watch The New Trailer For DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo

21 December 2012 5:28 AM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Gentleman, start you engines. Along with a great voice cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Dogg,, and Samuel L. Jackson, check out the first trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo.

The scenes of the Indy Motor Speedway look incredible!

DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo is the story of a snail who dreams of being the greatest racer in the world, just like his hero, 5-time Indianapolis 500 champ, Guy Gagné. Turbo’s obsession with speed and all things fast has made him an outsider in the slow snail community, and a constant embarrassment to his cautious older brother, Chet.

Turbo desperately wishes he could escape the slow-paced life he’s living. He gets that chance after a freak accident when he suddenly finds himself vested with the power of incredible speed. »
