NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 16 Review: The Last Stand

8 March 2017 4:52 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Finally, Pride may be getting a personal life again.

Ever since he got divorced from now ex-wife Linda early in NCIS: New Orleans Season 2, Pride has been, as Percy aptly put it, married to his work. Hell, he lives upstairs from the NCIS office.

But now, there's possibly a ray of hope for Pride on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 16.

That ray is in the form of Rita Devereaux, an old flame of Pride's from about 25 years ago. Their marriages didn't work out, and of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into Pride's.

Of course, she walked in because she wanted his help. More on the case later.

But I think there was a more than a little of her that wanted to see Pride again. And it turned out that Pride knew she was back in town, but had given her space, »

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 15 Review: End of the Line

21 February 2017 10:15 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The spotlight shone brightly on Loretta revealing some things that she'd rather be kept hidden.

We got to find out quite a bit about NCIS: New Orleans' mother hen on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 15, which is something I applaud.

This was all smoothly accomplished through a copycat murder that brought up ghosts for Loretta.

It was good to see what unhinges Loretta, who is generally so steady and so strong.

We were given a more layered portrait of Loretta, who, it turns out, was the victim of an abusive marriage.

It makes sense that Loretta is being reflective. Her son Danny has enlisted in the Navy while surrogate son Sebastian is leaving the lab, at least part time.

Sebastian: You're like the mother I never had.

Loretta: You have a mother. I've met her.

Sebastian: Exactly.

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 14 Review: Pandora's Box, Part II

15 February 2017 6:14 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

There;s nothing more fun than a well-executed crossover.

Using the parent show and a spinoff makes that task easier as was readily apparent on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 14.

On NCIS Season 14 Episode 15, the original team solves the murder of Abby's friend while leaving the theft of a hypothetical terror playbook unresolved.

That leaves the door open for Gibbs to send McGee and Torres to New Orleans to help out. Very organic,

You think of Pride and the gang as kinda fast and loose when it comes to protocol.

But they haven't met someone such as Nick Torres, who is still trying to come to terms with the phrase "team player."

Shortly after landing in N'Awlins, he got arrested for murder. Even though Pride vouched for Torres, he wasn't happy.

Pride: You make quite a first impression, Nick Torres. Less than two hours in my city and you get arrested as a suspected murderer. »

Did the team manage to find an elusive team of underground hackers?

That was a key question on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 13.

The reason they were going after the hackers was because they apparently stole thousands of classified-government files.

Meanwhile on this hit drama series, Sebastian joined the team as an NCIS Special Agent.

Was he a good addition to the team, or did he prove to be a liability?

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 13 Review: Return of the King

7 February 2017 9:57 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Elvis is back in the building.

New Orleans' favorite underground hacker returned in NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 13.

First introduced in NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 2, Elvis Bertrand was the perfect guest star to help solve the mystery of why a hacker would gun down four people in order to steal data from a federal server farm.

First, I like Tom Arnold's Elvis. He's a bit of a rogue but his heart is in the right place.

He just uses his considerable cyber skills at tweak the foibles of those in power.

The only downside of Elvis's visit is there's no Patton this week. Overlapping skill sets, don't you know.

That's happening too much this season. Patton gets sent off to another conference so someone else can do something cyber-ish.

I know some people are down on Arnold because of his antics with Roseanne Barr a couple of decades ago. »

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 12 Review: Hell on High Water

24 January 2017 10:56 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The newest incarnation of NCIS: New Orleans is hardly a well-oiled machine.

Maybe that lack of lubrication can account for how noisy it was on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 12.

Now that half of the season is gone, Gregorio is finally, officially a team member.

For better or worse.

Based on the comments made on this site, most viewers seem to have the latter opinion.

I'm going to go with the former.

Yes, Gregorio is an acquired taste.

The producers set out to create the anti-Brody and they succeeded, maybe too well.

She began as that caricature – the pushy, know-it-all federal agent. But she's been softened up, once more of her back story was known.

An abandoned wife who fled N'Awlins in shame, but who finally stopped running.

A tight-laced bureaucrat who learned to learn the looser pace of the Big Easy.

She can even smile and laugh on occasion. »

Who Gets Into The Good Place? Was Will & Grace Coda But a Dream? How Did Watson Escape? And More Qs!

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Chicago Fire, Lethal Weapon, The Good Place and Mom!

1 | On Emerald City, who styled Dorothy’s hair as she quickly changed into her tornado-fighting gown? Unseen attendants? And shouldn’t she have changed back into street clothes/practical boots when resuming her arduous trek?

2 | Wouldn’t it be funny if MacGyver, while stranded with Jack in the Kazakhstan forest, revealed that he didn’t know how to start a simple campfire?

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 11 Review: Let It Ride

17 January 2017 9:55 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Finally, some storylines get tied up.

Time to celebrate the end of the cartel in New Orleans on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 11.

It only took the better part of two seasons to happen.

This episode definitely delineated the differences in approach of the FBI and Pride's NCIS.

Isler is ready to wrap up the cartel investigation after the Justice Department has frozen the assets that Garcia has been using, and let Garcia roam free despite all he's done.

But that's not personal enough for Pride, who confronts Garcia at Eliza's funeral.

I promised [Eliza] I would protect her from you. Now I promising you, one way or another, you're going to pay for this.

NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 10 Review: Follow the Money

3 January 2017 10:25 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Like the mighty Mississippi itself, New Orleans seems like a meandering place, where things don't change too quickly.

But that lack of progress isn't a good thing in a TV series. That's why it's good that there were a number of developments on NCIS: New Orleans Season 3 Episode 10.

The series picked right up again with another Cuidad Natal cartel episode, focusing more closely on its New Orleans head, Javier Garcia, finally introduced in NCIS: New Orleans Season 3, Epsiode 8.

Garcia got more interesting this episode. Instead of being just a money-laundering businessman for the cartel, he showed a brutal side, sacrificing several underlings and having his fiancee Eliza gunned down.

Bombastic Isler, who doesn't understand the meaning of subtle, pretty much tipped the hand of law enforcement to Garcia, who just replied nonchalantly in response.

I understand New Orleans can be a really dangerous place.
