Blayne Weaver and Natalie Morales Are Breaking All the Rules in Exclusive Poster Debut for ’6 Month Rule’

22 May 2012 11:30 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Rules are made to be broken. At least, so learns Blayne Weaver‘s Tyler in the multi-hyphenate’s latest production, 6 Month Rule. Weaver stars in the new film (which he also wrote and directed) about an unattached heartbreaker who lives by a complex set of rules when it comes to his dating life – the purpose of all them is to keep Tyler unattached (and thus, un-hurt). The rules work for Tyler, but they’re about to be bent (or even broken) when he meets Natalie Morales‘s stunning Sophie, a free spirit that doesn’t give a damn about those rules. If you think you’ve heard this story before, you probably haven’t, as Weaver continues to exhibit a real knack for crafting characters that are believable and well-rounded (even if the audience wants to shake them into some sense) and swirling them up in situations that cleverly subvert rom-com tropes. I Hate My Teenage Daughter: Cancelled; No Season Two

11 May 2012 6:55 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

There just wasn't enough love for this Fox sitcom. The network has cancelled I Hate My Teenage Daughter after a handful of episodes.

The sitcom revolves around a pair of moms who realize that their daughters have become the kind of girls who terrorized them in high school. The cast includes Aisha Dee, Chad L. Coleman, Eric Sheffer Stevens, Jaime Pressly, Katie Finneran, Kevin Rahm, and Kristi Lauren.

I Hate My Teenage Daughter debuted back in November to a respectable 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.80 million total viewers. That was a positive performance but no doubt had a lot to do with having Fox's very successful X Factor as a lead-in.

The ratings for the second episode fell by 25% and the thirds dropped by another 14% to a 1.8 in the demo with 5.06 million. Those numbers were »

Fox Officially Cancels Two More Shows

10 May 2012 12:29 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

After resisting for some time, Fox has ripped off the band-aid and canceled "Breaking In" and "I Hate My Teenage Daughter."

"Breaking In," a show about an eclectic team of geniuses and thieves who work at a high tech security firm, was initially canceled last May. But "Breaking In" was brought back in August for a second season in hopes that the addition of Megan Mullally would up ratings, but they remained low.

"I Hate My Teenage Daughter," starring Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran, centered on two mothers who worried their daughters are turning into "mean girls." In April, Fox announced that it had been taken off the schedule, with reruns of "Raising Hope" airing in its 8:30 p.m. Et timeslot on Tuesdays. But now, it's gone for good.

The comedies join Fox's "Alcatraz" and "The Finder," whose cancellations were announced today as well. »

The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure

2 May 2012 9:49 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Prometheus? Pah. The Dark Knight Rises? So what? This blockbuster comes to you courtesy of a marketing visionary

Since this summer is brimming with an unusually large brace of colossal blockbusters, it's only natural that some are going to get left behind. Hopefully, The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure won't be one of them.

Why would it be? After all, the official synopsis is easily the equal of, say, Prometheus, given that it revolves around three friends trying to retrieve the five most magical balloons in all of Lovelyloveville before returning to their cottage in time for a surprise birthday party. What's more, the poster clearly states that the film is from "the marketing visionary who brought you Teletubbies and Thomas the Tank Engine". If there's one thing that kids are guaranteed to go crazy for, it's a marketing visionary. Does The Dark Knight Rises poster celebrate a marketing visionary? »

In a few short weeks, the broadcast networks will storm Madison Avenue with a whole new crop of shows that will either have the power to blow the roof off Nielsen — or give cable another opportunity to crow about their greatness. 'Raising Hope' season finale recap: You can't always get what you want (and sometimes you do!)

17 April 2012 7:05 PM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

“Lucy’s alive. Deal with it,” Virginia told Jimmy at the top of tonight’s Raising Hope finale. And boy did they.

After last week’s episode revealed that Hope’s serial killer mom, Lucy, was miraculously alive after being electrocuted as part of her death sentence, this week found the family fighting the suddenly-living psycho for custody of the little blonde bundle formerly known as Princess Beyonce. And as you might guess, by the end of the highly entertaining and downright fun season ender that aired tonight, Hope was back in the arms of her rightful guardians. But not before a lot of twists, »

Raising Hope‘s Chance family is about to get Inside Probed.

And although the offbeat Fox comedy is known for its wicked sense of humor, the preceding sentence is not as dirty as it sounds, we swear! Rather, tonight’s “mockumentary” episode (airing at 9:30/8:30c) finds the clan becoming the subjects of a “sensationalistic kind of send-up of courtroom” programs, this one called Inside Probe, previews Martha Plimpton, who plays Virginia, the (very young!) grandmother of the baby in the series’ title.

Thoughts on... I Love You, Man (2009)

15 March 2012 3:17 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

I Love You, Man, 2009.

Directed by John Hamburg.

Starring Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Greg Levine, Jaime Pressly, Jon Favreau, J.K. Simmons and Andy Samberg.

Synopsis:

Peter Klaven (Rudd) is due to get married, and he's come to the realisation that since being in a relationship with his other half, Zooey (Jones), he hasn't had any friends - he's just shared hers. So, determined to find a new B F F, Peter goes on a series of 'man-dates' before he meets Sydney (Segel), a happy-go-lucky type who soon puts a strain on the couple.

Put Paul Rudd and Jason Segel together and you would usually have me sold. So why did it take me such a long time to get round to watching the movie? Well, to be honest, when it first came out I wasn't initially attracted by the trailer despite the two stars. The comedy didn't seem to be my style, »
