Spiders 3D, 2013

Directed by Tibor Takács

Starring Christa Campbell, Patrick Muldoon, William Hope, Shelly Varod, Jon Mack and Sydney Sweeney

Synopsis:

After a Soviet space station crashes into a New York City subway tunnel, a species of venomous spiders is discovered, and soon they mutate to gigantic proportions and wreak havoc on the city.

There is a moment we all go through when popping a giant monster movie into our DVD or Blu-Ray players. It's a moment that is essentially one thought: 'will this be a made for Syfy waste of time, or will they actually try to make a good film?' 31 Days of Horror: ‘Spiders 3D’ Review

I love a good (or so bad its good) monster movie – as you can probably tell by the number of them I’ve reviewed here at Nerdly. So when a new one comes along I’m always excited to see what “delights” they will bring. Will they do something original? Or be completely off the wall? Recently the monster movie has seen a resurgence of the “nature gone wild” format – in particular the killer shark movie. But sharks are not only mans greatest enemy, well not if low-budget horror and sci-fi are to be believed, we also have to fear spiders… Giant spiders!

From the black and white terror of Tarantula in the Fifties to the hilarious comedy horror of Eight Legged Freaks, giant spiders (and spiders »

A closer look at what might be Val Kilmer's weirdest film

Quietly released in 2009, suspense thriller The Steam Experiment may be Val Kilmer's strangest film yet. Ryan takes a closer look...

In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Val Kilmer's played Jim Morrison, Doc Holliday, Simon Templar and Batman. He was Iceman in Top Gun. He was Moses in The Prince Of Egypt, Elvis in True Romance, and the voice of Kitt in the 2008 Knightrider TV movie.

Val Kilmer's well known for these roles and many, many more - but one that somehow flew under our radar until now was that of mad global warming doomsday theorist James Pettis in the 2009 film, The Steam Experiment.

Dark Delicacies bringing killer signings!!!

10 February 2013 2:09 PM, PST | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

By far, my favorite place to shop at in La is Del and Sue Howison’s awesome horror-themed shop, Dark Delicacies. I’ve been going there regularly for about five years now and it’s always fun. What makes Dark Del such a cool shop is that aside from their very impressive stock of books, movies, posters, toys, etc..Del brings some pretty awesome signings to the store multiple times a week, giving horror fans a chance to meet and get their favorite items signed by the people whom they love.

Icons of Fright head honcho, Rob G did a shop visit to Dark Del a while back, check it out:

The upcoming slate of signings at Dark Delicacies is turning out to be, like always, pretty impressive:
