The Top Five Garry Marshall Directed Films of His Career

Gary Marshall was a talented man that did a lot during his career and started off as a joke writer as well as a writer for The Tonight Show. His movies were some of the most classic examples of comedy and are still considered to be some of the best of a generation even though they’re now getting remakes that aren’t meant to besmirch his work but still seem kind of an unnecessary addendum to history. Still, it must speak volumes if someone wanted to take what he’d done and try to emulate it in some way since the movies

Eugenio Derbez & Anna Faris in Comedy Remake 'Overboard' Trailer

"I have an idea that is poetic in its justice." Pantelion Films has released the official trailer for a remake of an 80's comedy titled Overboard, from first-time movie directors Bob Fisher & Rob Greenberg. The plot is about a spoiled, wealthy yacht owner who is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee. It's a remake of the 1987 December comedy directed by Garry Marshall and starring Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell. This new version of Overboard stars Eugenio Derbez and Anna Faris, plus Eva Longoria, John Hannah, Swoosie Kurtz, Josh Segarra, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Emily Maddison, and Mel Rodriguez. This looks a bit too wacky for my tastes, especially when she brings him home and makes him do all the work and daddy duties. Yeah, I get it, just not my kind of comedy. Dive in & have fun. Here's the first trailer for Bob Fisher & Rob Greenberg's Overboard,

First trailer for the ‘Overboard’ remake

Here’s the first trailer for directors Bob Fisher and Rob Greenberg’s upcoming gender-swapped remake of the 1987 Kurt Russell/Goldie Hawn comedy Overboard. Garry Marshall’s original film starred Goldie Hawn as a rich heiress suffering from amnesia, with Kurt Russell appearing as a carpenter who then convinces her that they are married. The remake features Eugenio Derbez as a spoiled, wealthy playboy who is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his mistreated employee, played by Anna Faris.

In a splashy new twist, Overboard focuses on “Leonardo” (Eugenio Derbez), a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico’s richest family and “Kate” (Anna Faris), a working class single mom of three hired to clean Leonardo’s luxury yacht. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and,

The 20 Best Holiday Films of All Time Ranked, from ‘Bad Santa’ to ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
As the party in power continues to wrongly correct “Happy Holidays” wishers with “Merry Christmas,” we’d like to offer you a diverse round-up of our favorite seasonal fare, plucked from different parts of the calendar and with a wealth of genres that speak to the crossover power of seasonally appropriate joy. Regretfully, Hollywood continues to crank out Christmas movie after Christmas movie, ignoring many other wonderful traditions and skewing our pool of options in the process.

We debated admitting entries to this list that had either a single festive scene (“Call My by Your Name”) or happen to take place during the present-buying season (“Die Hard”), but ultimately decided to go with ones that explicitly stuck to the winter holidays (Garry Marshall’s greeting card-company approved late work — “Valentine’s Day,” “New Year’s Eve,” and “Mother’s Day” — still did not make the cut). So our roll call
