Ang Lee’s Life of Pi movie, with Suraj Sharma Ang Lee’s 3D movie Life of Pi has been moved from Dec. 21 to Nov. 21, 20th Century Fox has announced. Life of Pi, which generated enthusiastic buzz following its screening at ComicCon a few weeks ago, is already considered a top contender next awards season. (Note: Life of Pi was originally scheduled to open on Dec. 14.) By moving Life of Pi to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Fox is avoiding going neck and neck with the following Dec. 21 openings: Kathryn Bigelow’s Osama bin Laden thriller Zero Dark Thirty, with Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, and Joel Edgerton; Christopher McQuarrie’s crime drama One Shot, with Tom Cruise and Rosamund Pike; and another Judd Apatow comedy, This is 40, with Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jason Segel, Melissa McCarthy. We've talked about Elgin James' colorful past on numerous occasions but we're now finally on the brink of seeing what he can offer with his debut film "Little Birds." Born out of the Sundance Labs, the film premiered to a warm reception at Park City last year but -- possibly due to a recent incarceration -- it won't see a theatrical release until this summer.
We've got our hands on a heap of images from the film which showcase the talented cast including Juno Temple and Kay Panabaker -- who star as two 15-year-olds who test the limits of their friendship when one follows the other to Los Angeles -- along with Kyle Gallner, Kate Bosworth and Leslie Mann also co-starring. It kind of sounds like a run-of-the-mill tale but with rising star Temple front and center, we're hoping it'll make for worthy viewing either way.
Post-release, James already has a follow-up lined up, »

Judd Apatow has made no secret of it for some time: he and his family love Zac Efron. It's a move that semi-legitimized the young actor who seemingly has been trying to bust out of the teen hearthrob ghetto with only mixed results thus far (though "The Paperboy" is right around the corner and a few passion projects are simmering). Efron worked with Apatow's wife Leslie Mann on "17 Again," and apparently the whole gang hang out from time to time. So perhaps it was no major shock when Apatow troupe member and friend Seth Rogen was announced as Efron's co-star in an R-Rated comedy for Universal last year. Definitely an edgier move than Efron fans are used to at this point.
Once said to be in the vein of Todd Phillips' "Old School," details have arrived, including a familiar face to sit behind the director's chair. THR reports Nicholas Stoller »

Laika studios has released a new poster for their new family horror stop-motion 3D film ParaNorman, which looks like an awesome movie! I'm looking forward to taking my kids to see this one, because it's one that I actually want to see myself. My kids have a little dark streak in them, and they seem to enjoy being scared... until it's time to go to bed.
The story centers on an outcast named Norman who can talk to ghosts. The town that Norman lives in comes under an old curse and he embarks on an adventure to save it from ghosts, zombies, witches and grown-ups. The film features the voices of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Tucker Albrizzi, Alex Borstein, Jodelle Ferland, and Elaine Stritch.
Here's the full synopsis:

Take a look at the latest poster release for ParaNorman, the upcoming animated horror/comedy from the creators of Coraline. While the poster below lists a September release date, that is when the movie will begin showing internationally. The Us release date is set for August 17th.
Synopsis: The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company Laika, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated “Coraline.” “ParaNorman” is, following “Coraline,” the company’s second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D. In “ParaNorman,” a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In the middle of February, I was able to visit Laika Studios in Hillsboro, Oregon to get an early look at their upcoming 3D stop-motion movie ParaNorman. As a big stop-motion fan, it was incredibly cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at how it all comes together, and to see where they made their last film, Coraline. While I assumed the process of making a stop-motion movie doesn't change, when I visited Laika I learned that new technology is helping to make ParaNorman one of the most technically advanced stop-motion movies ever made, and some of what they're using is straight out of an episode of Star Trek. And the best part: the technology will soon be in everyone's homes! Hit the jump for more. Before going any further, if you haven't seen the trailer for director Sam Fell and Chris Butler's ParaNorman, I'd watch that first. The voices you'll hear are Casey Affleck, »

The upcoming animated feature ParaNorman includes multiple zombies and ghosts, and a number characters from the film will be released as action figures this summer. Even if you aren’t planning on picking up all of them, we thought readers may be interested in the four zombie figures that are being released.

From what we have seen so far from Laika Studio’s upcoming horror-comedy Paranorman, it looks be a lovable film for both adults and kids. Using the same techniques as Wallace & Gromit, The Nightmare Before Christmas and most recently The Pirates: An Adventure With Scientists, this latest stop-motion feature tells the story of ‘outsider’ Norman. His uncanny ability to communicate with the dead – which had previously made his life a misery at the hands of bullies – comes in handy when his hometown is invaded by zombies.
Below is a brilliant new poster for the film – check it out!
Paranorman is, directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, and has a top cast providing the voices, including Leslie Mann, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Casey Affleck, John Goodman, Jeff Garlin and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. It arrives in UK cinemas 14th September.

Billed as a 'sort of sequel' to Knocked Up, This Is 40 sees Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprise their roles of married couple Pete and Debbie, this time coming to grips with growing older. Writer and director Judd Apatow kinda lost me with Funny People, which seems to share this movies theme of changing your life for the better, but this trailer had me laughing in all the right places. Add to that the fact that he has assembled some fine comedic talent, including Rudd, Jason Segel, and Melissa McCarthy, he might be able to win me back with this one. Released worldwide on the 21st of September 2012, This Is 40 also stars Megan Fox, Chris O'Dowd and John Lithgow.

An honest description of this latest comedy from the brilliant Judd Apatow, comes at the top of this brand new poster for This Is 40. Possibly the best comedic elements of Knocked Up, came from the lovable bickering couple Pete and Debbie, so memorably played by Paul Rudd and Apatow’s real-life spouse Leslie Mann.
Joining the duo for the as stated ‘sort-of sequel to Knocked Up’, will be Megan Fox, Jason Segal, Lena Dunham, Melissa McCarthy, Albert Brooks and John Lithgow. Lets also not forgot Mann and Apatow’s real children Maude and Iris, who are now a little older and reprise their roles from the original film starring Seth Rogan and Katherne Heigl. This Is 40 hits UK cinemas 21st December.

Poster for Judd Apatow's This is 40, starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann I like the expression on Leslie Mann's face as Paul Rudd reads the iPad on the bowl in this first poster for the Universal Pictures release which opens in theatres on December 21st. Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) helms, scripts and produces This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see first-hand how they are dealing with their current state of life. The cast also includes Megan Fox, John Lithgow, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, Melissa McCarthy, Robert Smigel, Charlene Yi and Albert Brooks. Comedy's rated R for sexual content, crude humor, pervasive language and some drug material. Check out more photos from the gallery below the poster »

Behind her stunning look as she stepped on the 2012 Met Ball Gala red carpet on Monday, May 7, Emma Stone actually had a fashion disaster that night. The "Easy A" actress suffered a major wardrobe malfunction as she accidentally ripped her gorgeous Lanvin couture dress before she showed up at the prestigious event's after-party.
The Gwen Stacy of "The Amazing Spider-Man" was caught on camera looking very shocked after she discovered a hole on the back of her red frock. The blond beauty was joined by Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz, who looked panic when seeing the rip on his expensive creation.
To overcome the unexpected mishap, Emma decided to cover the tear just below the zip fastening with a patent maroon long coat. She then continued enjoying the after-party though her boyfriend Andrew Garfield was nowhere to be seen.
Before the gala, which took place at the the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, »

On the heels of the film’s first trailer being released, a new poster has popped up for This Is 40, writer-director Judd Apatow’s “sort-of sequel to Knocked Up.” After supporting roles in the first film, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann step into the spotlight this time around as Apatow explores the comically embattled couple’s aging relationship, and their attempts to escape the domestic hell illustrated on this poster. It features Mann looking on in exhausted disgust as an oblivious Rudd sits on the toilet not ten feet away, snuffing out any shred of mystique that was left in their relationship. A well-constructed visual gag that cannily expresses the film’s relatable premise. Hit the jump to check it out. This Is 40 also stars Albert Brooks, Megan Fox, Chris O’Dowd, Lena Dunham, Ryan Lee, Charlene Yi, and Wyatt Russell, with appearances by Jason Segel (reprising his »

Sometimes certain films don't really need a poster to help with promotion and it's just merely an obligation. That's usually the case with Judd Apatow comedies. The poster is just an extra way to get people aware of the film when it's really the cast and the trailer that will get butts in the theaters. But alas, we still have a one sheet for This is 40, the new coming-of-older-age comedy hitting this Christmas. We already got the first trailer featuring Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd reprising their characters from Knocked Up (Jason Segel showed up too), and now this poster embraces being a "sort-of sequel" to the 2007 comedy hit. Look! Here's the first poster for Judd Apatow's This is 40 from ScreenCrush: This is 40 comes from writer director Judd Apatow and acts as a sort of unofficial sequel to Knocked Up, following the characters Pete (Paul Rudd »

When Judd Apatow's "This Is 40" was first announced, it was described as not a sequel to "Knocked Up" by Universal, even though the film is clearly a look at the lives of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) a few years after the events of that film. Now the new poster (like the recent trailer) plays with that tag, describing the film as the "sort-of sequel to 'Knocked Up'. " Nice wink at that original claim, Uni.
The poster gives us a vibe not that much different from the one evinced in the trailer. Pete's on the crapper with his iPad and Debbie is brushing her teeth thinking, "Wtf, can't we preserve some mystery to our relationship?" Seems like that's going to be the general theme to the picture, which is frankly fine by us. We will admit, we will be curious to see how they »

As someone who has been married for almost a decade, I can attest to having taken a dump in the same bathroom as my wife. It is just one of those things that happens when you are married for a while. Shit just doesn't phase you anymore. I connected to the Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann characters in Knocked Up having had a child at the time and experienced some of the same conversations they had. So, when the trailer for This Is 40 was released last week, I grinned knowing it would tackle the »
