Turns out Mike Tyson and Neil deGrasse Tyson are Brothers

27 May 2017 6:00 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

So I have no idea why I missed this but I’m 100% committed to sharing as many of these video as possible.  If you haven’t see the Adult Swim show Mike Tyson’s mysteries you are in for a weird and fantastic treat.  Here’s the basic premise of this random but hilarious show:  “Mike Tyson, his adopted daughter, a friendly ghost, and an alcoholic pigeon solve mysteries.”  Yup, that’s it.  That’s the entire show and Mike Tyson is voiced by none other than Mike Tyson.  The pigeon?  Norm MacDonald.   No one else is voiced by anyone famous but it doesn’t matter.

David Letterman Compares Amy Schumer to Richard Pryor: ''She's a Real Breakthrough''

22 May 2017 3:35 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

In David Letterman's world, there are few comedians who stand out in the crowd. The former late-night show host was asked by GQ magazine who he thought was funny today, and he listed off several famous faces. But it was one comparison that Letterman drew that caused a few heads to turn. "The Oh, Hello boys—Nick Kroll and John Mulaney—they, to me, are the funniest thing I've seen in years," Letterman began by answering. "I think Norm Macdonald is without peer. Amy Schumer…I don't want to say she's like Richard Pryor, because that doesn't make any sense, but I think she's a real breakthrough." The 70-year-old continued, "I remember »

16 May 2017 1:45 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Fox has released the first trailer for the new Seth MacFarlane series, The Orville. The Star Trek parody is a comedy-drama series created by and starring MacFarlane. The show is set 400 years in the future and follows the adventures of the U.S.S. Orville and its crew members.

The first live-action show to come from MacFarlane, it will also be his first starring role in a live-action series. The show was picked up by Fox in May of 2016 and has a 13-episode order.

MacFarlane plays the recently divorced, Captain Ed Mercer, who leads the exploratory ship, the U.S.S. Orville. Adrienne Palicki will co-star as MacFarlane’s ex-wife, and newly appointed First Mate (much to the dismay of MacFarlane’s character), Kelly Grayson. Scott Grimes will play Mercer’s best friend, Gordon Malloy. The alien creature, Bortus, played by Peter Macon, is part of an all-male species, and »

Tracy Morgan’s Netflix Comedy Special “Stayin’ Alive” is a Must See

16 May 2017 4:00 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Oddly enough one of the Netflix comedy specials that somehow got lost in the shuffle is Tracy Morgan’s “Stayin’ Alive.”  With all the hype that Dave Chappelle, Louis C.K,., and Amy Schumer got for their specials I suppose it was easy to forget about the likes of Norm Macdonald who by the way killed it in his special.  And then you have Tracy Morgan who’s aptly titled special somehow went under the radar. That the special wasn’t more hyped is kind of a mystery to me but from all indications Morgan is not the man you see who came back

Celebrities Pay Tribute to Prolific Actor Powers Boothe

15 May 2017 11:08 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Hollywood is still reeling from the sudden death of Emmy-winning actor Powers Boothe, who died in his sleep Sunday morning. He was 68.

Beau Bridges first broke the sad news on Twitter over the weekend, and Boothe’s celebrity peers are still using social media to remember the “Deadwood,” “24,” and “Sin City” star. Boothe’s “Nashville” cast seemed to take the news hardest as a whole, seeing as he portrayed main character Rayna Jaymes’ father for the first two seasons of the show. Connie Britton, Sam Palladio, and Clare Bowen each honored their former co-star with Twitter tributes.

Britton said she was “so grateful to work with him.”

Of Course I’ll Be Watching Norm Macdonald’s Netflix Comedy Special

While it may not draw as many eyeballs as a Dave Chappelle or Louis C.K. stand up special, I’m just as psyched about Norm Macdonald’s comedy special on Netflix.   Entitled “Norm Macdonald: Hitler’s Dog, Gossip, and Trickery” Norm takes a look at modern day society and breaks it down in only a way that he knows how.  By using his completely dry, random, and in my opinion genius sense of humor. In my opinion there are two camps when it comes to Norm Macdonald.  There’s the camp that couldn’t stand him on Weekend Update and there are those that thought

Roseanne Revival In The Works

28 April 2017 2:24 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Deadline is reporting that the sitcom classic, Roseanne, is heading towards a revival. Set as an eight episode limited series, the original producers on the show are on board along with the core of the original cast. The show centered around the lower middle class Conner family as they fought to pay bills, fought with friends and family, and fought with each other as well. A number of shows have seen short term come backs, such as The X-Files, Will and Grace, and 24. John Goodman spoke about the possibility of the revival on the CBS show The Talk.

“Oh, hell yes … if we could get everyone together,” he told co-host Julie Chen. “The Big R [Barr] and I did a pilot about five years ago that didn’t go anywhere … but we were very happy to work together.”

Sara Gilbert also spoke on the possibility of a revival. While supportive, she »

The most popular blue-collar sitcom family from the ’90s is looking to get back together. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed a Roseanne revival is currently in the works, though a source says there’s no deal and the project is being shopped around.

Norm Macdonald Is Really Mad at ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ For Some Reason

27 April 2017 3:43 PM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Stand-up comedian Norm Macdonald posted to his Twitter Wednesday about “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which he called a “sub-par piece of science-fi trash.” Others have taken to Twitter to echo Macdonald’s criticisms, which say that the show — and in turn the source material– is unrealistic. But what is Macdonald actually mad about? He seems annoyed by a few things concerning the show. I've just read an incredible article where "The Handmaid's Tale", a sub-par piece of science-fi trash, is defended by its author. — Norm Macdonald (@normmacdonald) April 26, 2017 The author, who rightly should be apologizing for her execrable prose, not only defends. »

Rob Lowe as KFC’s Colonel Sanders Is Just His ‘Grinder’ Character Trolling Us, Right?

Rob Lowe dressed up like Colonel Sanders today, and that just makes us miss “The Grinder” even more.

The Emmy-nominated actor is the latest star to appear as the KFC founder in a series of ads, this time donning a space suit with a trompe l’oiel design to mimic the Sanders’ signature white suit and string tie. It’s a bizarre but not entirely un-funny ad that embraces the over-the-top aspect of the announcement that Colonel Harland Sanders (Lowe) want to blast KFC’s newest Zinger sandwich into space.

We’ve endured April’s interminable showers, which means it’s time to reap the flowery benefits of May. Next month’s Netflix bounty includes the third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the trailer for which was also released today. In keeping with that protagonist’s overwhelming optimism, May will also bring us season two of Sense8, which had a suitably bright-eyed Christmas special. Subscribers will also be able to drop in on the romantic misadventures of Master Of None when that dramedy’s second season premieres later in the month. You can also look forward to comedy specials from Maria Bamford, Sarah Silverman, Norm Macdonald, Tracy Morgan, and newly-minted White House Correspondents’ Dinner host Hasan Minhaj.
