Demi Hits More Trouble on 'Charlie's Angels' Set

9 December 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Tensions on the set of the new Charlie's Angels movie have reached boiling point - with Demi Moore' s co-stars banning her from socializing with them. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, who all appeared in the 2000 movie together, are reprising their roles for Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, but have reportedly not taken to Moore's presence. The feisty trio have resorted to banning the Striptease star from using their luxury facilities, which include a private dining area with a special chef, their own exercise room, massage tables and a comfortable lounge. According to American tabloid the Star, the screen beauties also couldn't help but notice that Demi's dressing room is every bit as fancy as theirs - and that she's getting the same perks. »

Lucy Liu: Action Woman

7 October 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Charlie's Angels star Lucy Liu loves being able to flex her muscles in action films because it gives her the chance to show off martial arts skills she learned as a kid. The actress was desperate to jump into fight scenes when she was starting out in Hollywood but she was never allowed to get involved until Mel Gibson championed her for a fight scene in Payback. And now there's no stopping the former Ally McBeal babe. She says, "I started doing stick fighting as a hobby when I was a kid. I enjoyed it, but like an aerobics class or a yoga class I didn't go every day. Then I was unemployed at the beginning of my career, so I could go four or five times a week. I became quite good. I did it really to stay in shape, but as I started progressing in my career I did this episode of Hercules and I took my sticks with me and showed them some of the tricks I could do. I got the job. Then I came up with a few moves with Mel in Payback. It looked good. I like being accepted by the audience as the action woman." »

7 October 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sexy actress Demi Moore's perks in the new Charlie's Angels flick have already ruffled the feathers of her co-stars. The G.I. Jane stunner managed to clinch a role in Charlie's Angels 2: Halo alongside Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, the stars of the new movie's predecessor. But the trio of actresses are reportedly appalled that Moore, who plays a villain in the film, has her own special hair and make-up people in her entourage. According to American tabloid the Star, the screen beauties also couldn't help but notice that Demi's dressing room is every bit as fancy as theirs - and that she's getting the same perks. »

Lucy Insists Murray No-Show Is Not Her Fault

23 September 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Charlie's Angels star Lucy Liu insists she's not responsible for Bill Murray's decision to pull out of the film's sequel Halo. The couple reportedly failed to get along on the set of the 2000 action movie, and Murray has now said no to a sequel. Liu says, "I think Bill Murray is amazingly talented and funny and he added to all our characters and would bring amazingly funny lines to it and would give us some direction for where he thought a scene should go. It was such a shame when I heard he wasn't coming back but I hope to work with him again in the future." »

9 August 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The former highest paid woman in Hollywood Demi Moore is set to return to the spotlight with a high-kicking role in the new Charlie's Angels movie. According to Britain's Daily Sport newspaper, Bruce Willis' ex-wife will play a one-time Angel gone bad in Charlie's Angels 2: Halo, giving heroines Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu a run for their money as they try stop her selling off top secret US government data. Demi, who proved her tough girl credentials in 1997's GI Jane, shot to fame with 80's bratpack film St Elmo's Fire, and had huge hits with Disclosure, Striptease and Ghost. Her star has faded since the late 1990s, as she left Hollywood to bring up her three daughters in a more stable environment, but the Halo role could bring Demi back to the public's attention with a bang. Tennis babe Anna Kournikova had an extra special present on her 21st birthday last Friday--she was named Sexiest Woman in the World, on both sides of the Atlantic. Just two weeks after British readers of FHM magazine named the Russian their number one girl, she has been named sexiest woman by the US edition, too. It was also a good poll for Britney Spears, who moved up from number three to number two on the list, and Halle Berry, who rose from seven to three. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise must have been a little upset. Tarantino The Author

23 April 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Oscar-winning movie-maker Quentin Tarantino is planning a new career - as a novelist. The Pulp Fiction director has sold the world publishing rights for his first book, Kill Bill, about a bride who goes on a killing spree after being hit by a bullet on her wedding reception. And fans won't have to wait long for a movie version of the novel - Tarantino's already making one, starring Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu and Darryl Hannah and it's due for release next year. But the director - who picked up an Academy Award for his screenplay for Pulp Fiction - insists the novel is different from his previous writing efforts. Quentin says, "I'm moving away from screenplay format, keeping what I do like of the form and throwing away what I don't. I write tons of prose. It's all about the page, it's the writer in me." »

Diaz Reluctant To Make Charlie's Sequel

17 April 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sexy actress Cameron Diaz had to be seriously convinced to appear in the sequel to action movie Charlie's Angels. Diaz was reluctant to retread old ground and give up some promised time off - but, despite finally signing up when she was handed a record breaking $20 million paycheck, she claims it was friendship and the script which tipped the balance. The 29-year-old, paying tribute to co-stars Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore, says, "I knew that I wanted to work with the girls again but I wasn't sure that I would want to do it in Charlie's Angels, because I felt that it was something I had already done - I don't like to revisit things much." However, one look at the new script convinced her to reprise her role as leggy blonde Natalie. She explains, "I read the script. I saw it was totally fun and it reminded me of how much fun we had and how great it was. It was a hard decision to make because I'm taking this year off and I told myself I wouldn't do anything until the end of the year." The girls will start training for the physically taxing movie in June, with shooting beginning in September. »

I've been talking to Warren Beatty for a long time about this role, and I totally expect to make another movie with him." Cameron Diaz, Selma Blair and Christina Applegate teamed up to transform a barren schoolyard into a butterfly park for fashion magazine Marie Claire. The trio, co-stars in new road movie The Sweetest Thing, took on the challenge of sprucing up Los Angeles' Kester Elementary School after hearing how kids were desperate to turn their wasteland into something really worthwhile. And the actresses split the kids up into three teams - Team Selma, Team Cameron and Team Christina - to get the job done. Their efforts make up part of a eight-page spread in the new Marie Claire. Diaz, who last appeared in the magazine when she spent three days in the desert with her Charlie's Angels co-stars Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, says, "I love being in Marie Claire because you get to do something, rather than sit down and talk about the same things over and over again. I come from a long line of sturdy, hearty women who've been bent over in the garden. It's all in the technique." »
