My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee was recently thrown out of a New York City nightspot after security broke up a bar brawl between the actor and another reveller.
Lee was partying at downtown Manhattan venue Max Fish when he became embroiled in a heated shoving match with an unnamed patron.
A source tells the New York Post, "The bouncer threw both (guys) out. (He said), 'If you ever want to come back here, walk away now.'"
A spokesperson for Lee did not return request for comment as WENN went to press.

Screen Daily is the first to bring any kind of news related to Sony's upcoming The Smurfs Movie film which seems to have been discussed for many years but never got off the ground. Word is Beverly Hills Chihuahua helmer, Raja Gosnell, will be taking the reigns on the film which is set for a December 17, 2010 release in 2D and 3D. The story is based on the legendary blue characters created by Pierre Culliford, more famously known as Peyo. "The Smurfs" originated in 1958 as a Belgian comic strip and NBC launched "The Smurfs" in 1981, spawning 256 episodes and multiple Emmy awards. I can only assume we are looking at something that will be approached exactly like Fox's Alvin and the Chipmunks, which grossed over $217 million in 2007 and will see a sequel released this holiday. That film stars Jason Lee as he banters back-and-forth with Alvin, Simon and Theodore, three chipmunks fully rendered in CG.

When Alvin And The Chipmunks was released last year, many people--myself included--expected it to flop. $200 million later and we have ourselves a sequel--err squeakquel. Jason Lee and David Cross are featured in prominent roles but the first one was so reviled by critics that I doubt this one can be much better. Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, and Amy Poehler will be voicing The Chippettes the female counterparts to our beloved rodents. I say we all get super messed up and go see this. That, or we should snack on some broken glass.

Last year's champ, Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock"), will probably face off again opposite perennial nominees Steve Carell ("The Office") and Charlie Sheen ("Two and a Half Men"), who've never won, and three-time champ Tony Shalhoub ("Monk"). That means there will be room for two more nominees. If an Emmy god exists, one of the picks will be Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory"). The other? Maybe David Duchovny ("Californication"), who was robbed of a bid last year. Lee Pace got nominated in 2008 but probably won't be back considering that the canceled "Pushing Daisies" has wilted.
** Nominee last year * Top 10 semifinalist in 2008 Lead Actor In A Comedy Series

Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, blah, blah, blah. Yet there’s a dark little place in my heart that secretly loves Jersey Girl. There, I said it. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I am intrigued (and a little tickled) by the prospect of the new Kevin Smith film, A Couple of Dicks.
I hesitate to prematurely pass judgment on the film based merely on its pedigree, but given Smith’s track record, and the cast of Dicks, February of 2010 has more to look forward to than Martin Luther King, groundhogs, and chocolate hearts.
ComingSoon has revealed the latest photos from A Couple of Dicks, which currently filming in Brooklyn. These new production pictures feature the film’s stars, Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, as well as one of the newest additions to the cast, Michelle Trachtenberg (Harriet the Spy, Eurotrip). Also featured in the movie are Jason Lee,

I get all excited when I see that something is filming in my neighborhood. Yes, I live in Manhattan, where not a day goes by without a film shoot, but there's still a joy in seeing the place where you ride your bike on the big screen. So the new thriller Columbus Circle, with its story about an upscale Manhattan apartment building and title referring to the location of my Whole Foods, sounds like exactly the kind of set I will complain about for months when it blocks traffic, and then be happy to see on the screen. Except that it's filming in Los Angeles. And that's no fun at all. So now it's up to the cast-- Selma Blair, Amy Smart, Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi and Kevin Pollak-- to make the whole thing worth watching. THR writes that Blair will play a reclusive heiress wrapped up in a

Apparently we're celebrating trailer day today. Unfortunately Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel isn't quite as good as Couples Retreat or The Informant. In fact its quite a bit worse, in that it made me want to jump out the window. I'm only one story up so I'd likely only hurt myself. So not kill yourself bad, but at least broken ankle bad. The story, if you can call it that, is based around the chipmunks going to school and meeting the chipettes. I'm sure there's more but children ain't going to this for plot-based reasons, so I'll sum it up for kids - It's Talking Chipmunks! Again! Sold. Box office gold. In 'paycheck mode' are humans Jason Lee and David Cross, chipmunk voicing humans Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney and chipettes Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehler. Great cast sure, and in nearly anything else I'd be on board. I

- Low budget filmmaker George Gallo has gathered some former players in Giovanni Ribisi (from the just completed Middle Men) and Selma Blair (My Mom's New Boyfriend) and added Amy Smart and Jason Lee to the fold in an indie thriller that was co-written with Kevin Pollak (the actor also has a role in the film - he wrote himself a concierge part). Slowly but surely my childhood continues to die with the sequel of the surprise 2007 Twentieth Century Fox hit, Alvin and the Chipmunks with their ‘Squeakquel’. This time around, Alvin, Simon and Theodore are not alone in their tiny world with the arrival of the Chipettes who are voiced by Christina Applegate, Anna Faris and Amy Poehler.
In the sequel, David Seville (Jason Lee) sends Alvin, Simon, and Theodore off to school, saying “it’s good for them.” Little did he know, the Chipmunks feel like “Chipmunks Out of Water” because of all the (human) kids around. Meanwhile, Ian Hawke (David Cross (after the loss of the Chipmunks dealt him a serious blow) is freed from jail and searches the world for animals who can sing and dance. He happens upon the Chipettes and cannot wait to make them famous and get revenge on the Chipmunks.

20th Century Fox has released a trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. (I refuse to refer to this movie as “The Squeakquel” as Fox insists in the awful title.) It’s just about as awful as it sounds. There’s high-pitched singing, CGI rodents, and the Chipettes. What, no eating feces this time?
The original Alvin and the Chipmunks made $217 million in the U.S., which means another one was inevitable. Jason Lee returns to sell another piece of his dignity as their owner, Dave Seville. While the rodents are all still voiced by celebrities for some reason (can you even tell?) The chipmunks are: Justin Long (Alvin), Matthew Gray Gubler (Simon), and Jesse McCartney (Theodore). The Chipettes are: Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, and Amy Poehler.
This is all great news if you have kids or time to waste. Watch the “trailer” below:

Though the film has already seen Darren Aronofsky bail as director, along with star Brad Pitt, Fighter – which tells the story of championship boxer "Irish" Mickey Ward – seems to be finding its footing. David O. Russell has replaced Aronofsky as director, while Christian Bale will now join Mark Wahlberg in place of Brad Pitt – and now Variety tells us that Amy Adams is in talks to join the cast as a gritty bartender from Massachusetts who dates Mickey Ward, as played by Wahlberg. Bale will play Ward's hardened older half-brother who helps train the young boxer. Nice to see Adams take on a role that's a little tougher and edgier than her previous fare.
