Prepare to hear "Whoa!" uttered in stereo sound by the Sin City masses!
Former "Blossom" hunk Joey Lawrence will soon head to Las Vegas to strut his fit physique with the Chippendales boys for a three-week hosting stint in June.
"It's something crazy - I've never done anything like this in my life," Joey told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday's Access Hollywood Live. "I'm 36 and I don't know, man, being in good shape is part of what I do. I used to play sports a lot and can't do that because I work a lot ...

A lot of celebrities had words to say about the passing of Donna Summer, but leave it to Sir Elton John to squeeze in a dig at (presumably) Madonna in his. "I'm so sad. This woman was the queen of disco and so much more. Her records sound as good today as they ever did. That she has never been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a total disgrace, especially when I see the second-rate talent that has been inducted. She is a great friend to me and to the Elton John AIDS Foundation and I will miss her greatly."
It's common wisdom that Gene Roddenberry pushed to have actors of color like Nichelle Nichols on Star Trek to create his perfect future world, but was it actually NBC recruiting people of color like Nichols and George Takei to help launch their switch to color television? »

Woaaaaaaah Joey, put your pants back on!
Because his acting career is going so swimmingly, Joey Lawrence has decided it's high-time to kick things up a notch by dropping his pants for the ladies. The Melissa & Joey actor is joining Las Vegas’ male erotic dancing troupe Chippendales for three weeks in June, where he will perform as a singer, dancer and host. Oh my! What would Blossom say!?
Joey will be joining the illustrious ranks of TV’s creepiest Bachelor ever, Jake Pavelka, and 98 Degrees’ internationally renowned superstar, Jeff Timmons, who have also shed trou for Chippendales. So ladies, get your Rav4 all gassed up, pull on your Pajama Jeans, strap on that fanny pack and grab your recently single aunt – it’s time to hit Sin City for a little fun!
So what was the father of two’s impetus for dancing around in a banana hammock? Lawrence told the Associated Press that after screening [link=nm »

Actor Joey Lawrence is set to strip down as one of the newest members of The Chippendales dance troupe in Las Vegas.
The Blossom star will don the group's legendary bow-tie for a three-week special engagement at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, beginning on 7 June.
The actor's representative confirmed the news to TMZ.com, insisting the toned 36 year old has signed up to do the "whole nine yards".
Lawrence follows in the footsteps of stars like Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson and 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons, who have previously bared almost all for cash at the saucy, adults-only revue. »

Whoa! Former "Blossom" star Joey Lawrence is losing his shirt -- literally. The 36-year-old just signed a deal to join Chippendales in Las Vegas for a special engagement at the Rio June 7-24, reports TMZ.
Apparently the "Joey & Melissa" actor will don the signature bow tie (and little else) to sing, dance -- the "whole nine yards."
Other celebrities that have taken it all off -- or most of it -- with the famous all-male stripper crew include 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons and former "Bachelor" Jake Pavelka.
How do you think Lawrence will measure up? »

Way back in the summer of 2004, on the heels of the great success of I Love the 80s and (later) I Love the 70s, VH1 tested the bounds and justifications of the nostalgia market by releasing the initial ten-part I Love the 90s. Instead of simply reflecting upon the most memorable and oft-canonized popular culture products and national news events of the 1970s and 1980s (two decades whose iconography had become ever more apparent, stylized, and parodied during its reappropriation in late 90s/early 00s pop culture), VH1 instead attempted (perhaps unsuccessfully) to create a trend rather than merely follow the typical, perhaps “natural” cycle of nostalgia. Because I Love the 90s aired only a few years after the actual 90s ended, VH1 situated the early 21st century – a time that ostensibly marked a major temporal shift but (save for 9/11) had yet to be self-defined – as a time that uniquely necessitated an immediate reflection on how to »

Do not be alarmed. You have not been transported through a wormhole back to 1999... but it might feel like it. April 2012 is looking an awful lot like the 1990s. Whether you're at the movies, watching TV, or picking out your clothes, there's a definite resurgence of '90s nostalgia. For those of us who still remember the '90s like it was yesterday, it's a little weird that it's also, well, today.
First of all, there's the fact that James Van Der Beek is back on television. "Don't Trust The B---- in Apartment 23" premieres this Wednesday, April 11. In the ABC comedy, Van Der Beek plays a fictional version of himself -- a version that wears "Dawson's Creek" flannel and blasts Paula Cole's "I Don't Want To Wait" in order to seduce women.
On a related note, all three leads from "Felicity" (Keri Russell, Scott Foley, and Scott Speedman »

Whoa! Blossom and Joey Russo are back, but they're not hanging out with Six this time around. Mayim Bialik and Joey Lawrence, who played the beloved '90s characters on "Blossom," are appearing in an Old Navy ad to promote the company's spring line, "Old Navy Bee Bots."
In the commercial, Bialik pops up in one of her famous floral hats, while Joey appears as a "Bee Bot," and utters his catchphrase, "Whoa!"
"Blossom" aired on NBC from 1991-1995, with Bialik starring as the titular teenager living with her two brothers (Lawrence and Michael Stoyanov) and father (Ted Wass).
Though the show is long over, both Bialik and Lawrence have continued with their TV careers: Bialik is now a series regular on CBS hit "The Big Bang Theory" and Lawrence stars on ABC Family's "Melissa & Joey," opposite fellow famous '90s face Melissa Joan Hart.

Whoa!
Mayim Bialik and Joey Lawrence are both on successful TV series -- "The Big Bang Theory" and "Melissa & Joey," respectively -- but they're not too cool for their roots. The former stars of the best '90s series ever, "Blossom," have reunited for Old Navy in a new TV spot.
Basically, the idea is that Blossom has been hired as Old Navy's "chief floral officer" for their new line of spring duds... and she's accompanied by her brother Joey. We miss his flowing hair, but he gains points for "Whoa"-ing like no time has passed at all.
Between his signature catchphrase and her perfectly '90s hat, we've almost been convinced to buy the dresses. Though we'd rather purchase the robot bees, to be honest.

Kudos to Old Navy for associating spring flowers with Mayim Bialik, who, before starring on The Big Bang Theory, was best known as TV’s Blossom (who had a penchant for hats with buds). In a new commercial, Bialik is the “Chief Floral Officer” and her Blossom costar Joey Lawrence, whose ABC Family comedy Melissa & Joey returns in May, is — apparently spraying for bees? Whatever, it allows him to wear a tank top and say, “Whoa,” so we’re good. Watch it below.
Regrettably, there is no Jenna von Oy cameo. (She’s expecting her first child in June, and »

It’s probably both surprising and old news to long-time readers (because I write snooty reviews, and talk about ABC Family a fair amount), but I’m simply a huge fan of ABC Family. I can’t really say why, and it isn’t exactly that I’m the world’s biggest Pretty Little Liars fan (though I was Aria once), but there’s something about the network and the show’s it delivers that, fan of any particular title or no, makes me happy they exist.
Even shows like Melissa & Joey, which seem to shut me right out on paper, have won me over as not only some of the coolest shows on TV (given sufficient demographic caveats), but moreover as strong arguments that television isn’t just about rotting your brain (though who would think I would be on the wrong side of that argument?).
