Comedian and actor Artie Lange was arrested last Sunday in the parking garage of his Hoboken, N.J., condo complex for alleged possession of cocaine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Hudson Reporter.

Lange was reportedly in possession of several bags of drugs. He was released after being booked on three charges.

Lange took to Twitter on Friday to acknowledge the arrest, and to let his supporters know that he was “doing great” and would be back on stage this weekend.

HBO Renews Pete Holmes Comedy ‘Crashing’ for Second Season

Pete Holmes is going to be “Crashing” with HBO for another season.

The comedy series about a struggling standup comedian trying to make it in New York has been renewed for Season 2. Exec produced by Holmes and Judd Apatow, “Crashing” bowed Feb. 19 to strong reviews.

“Pete and Judd have proven to be the ultimate ambassadors for the standup comedy world,” said HBO programming exec VP Amy Gravitt. “I’m delighted by the response to the show and am thrilled to welcome them back for a second season.”

HBO has eight episodes of “Crashing” on deck for Season 1. There’s no word yet on the episode order for Season 2. The series has been a natural showcase for guest shots by prominent comedians and New York notables. Those that appear in Season 1 include Dave Attell, Hannibal Buress, Artie Lange, T.J. Miller, Jim Norton, Rachael Ray, and Sarah Silverman.

Lauren Lapkus and George Basil are series regulars alongside Holmes.

HBO is staying in the Pete Holmes business.

The pay cabler has renewed the stand-up comedian's series Crashing for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Exec produced by Holmes and Judd Apatow, the semi-autobiographical half-hour centers on Pete, a struggling stand-up comedian whose world falls apart when he learns his wife is cheating on him. Pete subsequently dives deeper into the world of stand-up comedy as he couch surfs with various friends and comedians including Artie Lange and T.J. Miller, among others, playing fictional versions of themselves.

David Phillips, ‘The Basketball Diaries’ Cinematographer, Dies at 60

Cinematographer David Phillips, who served as the Dp on Leonardo DiCaprio’s 1995 film “The Basketball Diaries,” died Feb. 4 of natural causes in New York City, his family announced. He was 60.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University, Phillips spent his early years working on music videos including New Kids on the Block’s “Step by Step” and Cyndi Lauper’s “I Drove All Night.” He also shot several music documentaries, such as “Midnight Oil: Black Rain Falls” and “Cyndi Lauper: 12 Deadly Cyns… and Then Some.”

Phillips is additionally credited with filming Mark Wahlberg’s popular 1993 workout video “Form… Focus… Fitness, the Marky Mark Workout.”

His first major film was also DiCaprio’s first lead role: “The Basketball Diaries.” The adaptation of Jim Carroll’s autobiographical memoir, directed by Scott Kalvert, also starred a young Wahlberg.
