Tim Guinee, who as of late has recurred on The Good Wife, has booked a role on Showtime’s Homeland, TVLine has confirmed.

Details on Guinee’s character, as well as his episode count, thus far are filed as “top secret,” though we’ll remind you that the show was looking to cast Brody’s chief of staff, so perhaps they don’t want to broadcast that the war vet’s run for Congress is a success.

Southland Renewed for Fifth Season of Cop Drama by TNT

4 May 2012 5:31 PM, PDT | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Fans of TNT's Southland can breathe a sigh of relief today as TNT has officially ordered up a fifth season of the cop drama starring Ben McKenzie and Regina King.

In total, TNT will produce an additional 10 episodes of Southland for its fifth season, the first of which will air in February 2013. The decision came in part not only from the show's core fans, but new, younger fans that began watching this past season. The only downside to the renewal news is TNT awarding Southland with 10 episodes versus 13 that the producers were aiming for.

Southland began its rocky existence on NBC when it debuted mid-season in 2009 with seven episodes in place of E.R. Critics loved the drama starring Michael Cudlitz and Ben McKenzie as L.A. cops, and the ratings were good enough for NBC to order a second season.

Southland: Season Five Renewal for TNT Series

When NBC cancelled Southland a few years ago, who would have ever thought that the series would survive to see a fifth season? Today, TNT renewed the cop show for season five with a 10 episode order. The new episodes are expected to start airing in February 2013.

Southland has been performing well for TNT and shown growth in the 18-49 and 25-54 age groups. The fourth season finished airing on March 20th and registered a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.69 million total viewers.

The series stars Michael Cudlitz, Shawn Hatosy, Regina King, and Ben McKenzie. It's unknown if Lucy Liu, who joined the Southland cast in season four, will return for season five. She currently has a pilot called Elementary at CBS.

Yes! TNT Renews "Southland" For 5th Season!

And it's about damn time too! Southland will live to fight another day... another 10 days, as TNT has ordered 10 episodes for a 5th season of the police drama - a show I only started watching this season, and was instantly hooked! Season 5 is slated to begin in February 2013, so a few months to wait, although time flies! Great news of course for its cast, which includes Regina King as Detective Lydia Adams, and Dorian Missick as her partner, Detective Ruben Robinson. Although the list of series' regulars, recurring, and guests, is long; as is its crew list, which includes Cheo Hodari Coker - a series writer, and co-producer - whom I wrote about this morning (penning an adaptation of Walter Mosley's Man In The Basement with Anthony Mackie attached to star. Southland Renewed for Season 5 by TNT

Almost two months after completing its most recent run, TNT has officially renewed critically acclaimed cop drama Southland for a fifth season. Set to begin next February, season five will consist of 10 episodes that follow Sammy (Shawn Hatosy), Sherman (Ben McKenzie), Cooper (Michael Cudlitz), and Lydia (Regina King) through the streets of Los Angeles as they investigate (and solve) crime.

There had been talk of expanding the episode order for Southland from 10 to 13, but for now, at least, the number of installments is staying put. The show, famously dropped by NBC before landing at TNT in 2010, went up in the ratings during its most recent season, a rather impressive feat considering how crowded its Tuesday timeslot was for much of its run.

Going into season five, Lydia won't be as involved in the grueling side of being a detective, thanks to her pregnancy, while »
