Bender on a Bender at the ComicConcert 2010

28 July 2010 12:44 PM, PDT

This year I had the pleasure of emceeing the second annual Comic-Concert at Dreamstreet in San Diego. For those who are unfamiliar, the Comic Concert is a geek rock festival, and this year featured Kirby Krackle, Random Gibberish, and The Megas.

While Kirby Krackle was finishing up their set and Random Gibberish was preparing to take the stage, we happened to catch Futurama's Bender in a rare moment of (what looked like) introspection. Or maybe he was just really sauced. Either way, he left quite a mess in the bathroom.

Outkast at the Marvel vs. Capcom Party

28 July 2010 12:37 PM, PDT

Comic-Con 2010 was interesting. While the Con itself was packed, the parties were...not so packed. That's not to say the parties didn't kick ass. The Marvel vs. Capcom party had Big Boi from Outkast doing a set, another one called TweetDeck was on an aircraft carrier (I'm on a Boat) and featured such notables as William Shatner, but the sheer volume of parties this year meant that none of them were full or even near capacity.

Now in the case of the Marvel vs. Capcom party, I certainly wasn't complaining. I've been an Outkast fan since Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik so it was a real treat to be practically on stage at a private concert while listening to new stuff as well as some of my favorites like "Git Up, Git Out, Funky Ride, and Player's Ball.

Here's some video of the night. Sorry for the crappy sound quality, but that's what happens »

Turn your iPhone 4 into a football! Aka iFoam

12 July 2010 1:44 PM, PDT

This looks promising. It's a shell for your iPhone that appears to turn it into something you can toss around the house less fear of it breaking.

In addition to making neck pain slightly more enjoyable, you can complete the once again trendy 80's look with today's version of this:

Made of a similar material as crocs, this thing could actually be pretty cool - If they make one that looks like the brick phones of yore. Or a two piece one shaped like a football (Hey can I use your phone? Catch!). Or an iPad frisbee case »

Snoopy's Reunion!

7 July 2010 10:33 AM, PDT

I guess I've been doing voice-over for longer than I myself realize!

Here's a blast from the past factoid; way back in the day I provided the voice for everyone's favorite thumb-sucker/blanket-clutcher: Linus Van Pelt.

Looking back at how iconic "Peanuts" has become and remained, I'm both humbled and grateful to have been a part of something so historical and universally loved. Although I've made the transition from discernible speech to "wah-wah wah-wah Wah," watching old Peanuts cartoons always brings me back to feeling like a kid.

This gives me an idea for a more current, Linus/Peanuts inspired project (that doesn't involve sitting in a pumpkin patch all night). Stay tuned, more news on that later.

Extreme Awesome Alert!

7 July 2010 10:09 AM, PDT

My good friend Matt Sernaker from Comics Online just showed me this game:

This has to be the greatest thing I've ever seen. I'm currently pwning as MegaMan. They really need to make one of these for SM2.

The game can be found here at PlayedOnline.com. »

Wisecracking Spider-Man Doll

3 July 2010 2:25 PM, PDT

When Spectacular Spider-Man got canceled, they repackaged the toy to say "Amazing" instead of "Spectacular" and replaced my voice. I never heard it. Until today. Wow...just...wow

Here's the Spectacular version:

And here's the Amazing version:

After taking a listen to both toys, one thing is apparent: the Chameleon must be behind this. Or possibly Mysterio. »

Reception problems with your iPhone 4? Blend-Tec to the rescue!

26 June 2010 1:01 PM, PDT

This vid must make you feel great if you spent a day in line after a botched pre-order.

I want to buy two Blend-Tec blenders to see if one will blend the other. Whoever is doing the marketing over at Blend-Tec is brilliant. »
