Vinnie Jones and Matthew Vaughn are reunited with Kingsman 2...

It’s been a while, but producer/director Matthew Vaughn and footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones are back working together. Vaughn is currently shooting his sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, with the new movie going by the name of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Vaughn and Jones previously worked together on Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (that the former produced, and the latter made his acting debut in). Jones’ addition to Kingsman 2 is in a thus-far undisclosed role, and he joins a cast full of riches. Already confirmed are Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sophie Cookson, Jeff Bridges and Elton John.

Here are Jones’ Tweets confirming his addition to the Kingsman call sheet…

Movie Review – The Antwerp Dolls (2016)

19 June 2016 1:30 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Antwerp Dolls, 2016.

Directed by Jake L. Reid.

Starring Jason Wing, Courtney Winston, Sean Cronin, Sebastian Foucan and Bruce Payne.

Synopsis:

A ruthless businessman’s payoff to the Belgian mafia is intercepted by his revenge-seeking former protegees, launching a deadly war of violence and double-dealing…

Another peculiar sub-genre of recent years appears to have been the Cockney gangster movie, and The Antwerp Dolls is another aborted love child of the stylish, profane swagger of Guy Ritchie and uber-violent crime stylistics of Quentin Tarantino. Low budget, low brow and barely with any redeeming features, the directorial debut of Jake L. Reid should be forgotten with far quieter grace than how loudly it proclaims itself throughout the relatively thin running time, which by the way feels twice the length. All the way through, you really get the feeling this is cinema made for the kind of mindless thugs causing carnage across France »

Movie Review – Gridlocked (2016)

9 June 2016 12:30 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Gridlocked, 2016.

Directed by Allan Ungar.

Starring Dominic Purcell, Cody Hackman, Stephen Lang, Vinnie Jones, Trish Stratus, Danny Glover, Saul Rubinek and Richard Gunn.

Synopsis:

Former Swat leader David Hendrix and hard-partying movie star Brody Walker must cut their ride-along short when a police training facility is attacked by a team of mercenaries.

They say not to judge a book by its cover, and that’s a good piece of advice. But here’s another one: learn to look for the red flags. When staring down a movie like Gridlocked on your Netflix queue, your local Redbox, or wherever else you may come across it, it’s an important skill to be able to read the signs that identify this as something not to be given a second look. Is the cover a generic, unremarkable photoshop job? Is the cast populated by c-action regulars, with perhaps one once-recognizable industry veteran thrown »

What's it like directing a Steven Seagal movie?

We chat to Michael Winnick, the director of Steven Seagal's latest, Code Of Honour, about make a Steven Seagal film...

Michael Winnick is someone with an interesting perspective. He’s just written and directed a VOD action film called Code Of Honour. It’s got Steven Seagal in it playing a vigilante on a brutal killing spree. As such, he’s made a movie under very different circumstances to most of the filmmakers we get to interview here at Den of Geek

I know Steven Seagal is not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really hope that even if he isn’t yours you’ll give this interview a chance (that you’ve opened the article and are reading the introduction bit is a good sign). I think Michael Winnick has some interesting insights into the challenges of making a film.

New Pic For The Magnificent Seven Remake Finds Chris Pratt Locked And Loaded

1 June 2016 7:20 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Chris Pratt’s wisecracking gunslinger Josh Farraday is locked and loaded in today’s all-new still for The Magnificent SevenAntoine Fuqua’s star-studded remake that is poised to trot into theaters come September.

Hailing from Empire, the image sets the stage for some form of stand-off between Farraday and an off-screen frenemy. Whether that unseen trouble-starter is another member of Fuqua’s ragtag crew of bandits, or simply a conniving citizen of Rose Creek, is up for question at this stage, but there’s no question that Fuqua and his team are nailing the dusty, sun-kissed aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary conflicts, the filmmaker is aiming to shake things up with his rendition of The Magnificent Seven, and not simply in the name of diversity quotas; rather, Fuqua tells Empire that “terrorism is alive. It takes a society to fight them now. It’s not like a group of »

Gridlocked: Check Out The Red Band Teaser For Indie Action Flick

27 May 2016 10:00 AM, PDT | Twitch | See recent Twitch news »

We were big fans of Allan Ungar's Gridlocked - a deliberate throwback to the pulpy Dtv action films of the 90s starring Dominic Purcell, Stephen Lang, Trish Stratus, Danny Glover, Vinnie Jones and Saul Rubinek - back when it premiered at Fantastic Fest and with the picture due for release on June 14th there's a red band teaser out there that showcases why, exactly, we had such a good time with it. Hint: It has to do with guns, explosions, and people getting punched in the face. It may not be high art but Gridlocked has no pretensions of being anything other than what it is and if what you're looking for is some beefy old school action then you've come to the right place....

Watch the trailer for horror Blood Trap starring Vinnie Jones, Gianni Capaldi and Costas Mandylor

21 May 2016 7:20 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A poster and trailer have arrived online for the upcoming horror Blood Trap which stars Vinnie Jones, Gianni Capaldi and Costas Mandylor; check them out here…

A film that starts at its end. It only could be a Blood Trap ending. In Blood Trap’s Universe nobody’s good, nobody is bad. It’s just people trapped like fish in a barrel; a bloody nightmare of a barrel. Passengers in a wonderful world with a one way ticket to a Fairy-Punk-Tale called Blood Trap. A darkly funny, disarmingly sensitive horror-comedy.

Through a brilliant mixture of violence, lunacy, and a touch of melancholy, the film follows the story of Five ex-cons – amongst there number a certain Vinnie Jones as Big Jones – and one disillusioned retired screw – Costas Mandylor plays Roman – blast their way into a mansion house to kidnap a rich young woman, Nika – starring the International Martini Girl, Elena Mirela. »

Once those dusty first images emerged, blinking into the sunlight, just yesterday, we knew it was only a matter of time before Sony and MGM premiered the first trailer for The Magnificent Seven remake.

And sure enough, today brings forth our first peek at Antoine Fuqua’s (The Equalizer) western in motion, showcasing stand-offs, tense camaraderie and a collection of dastardly gunslingers all fighting for the same cause. He can’t do it alone, however, and in his plight he assembles half a dozen vigilantes – a so-called “bunch of strays” – to ward off the oncoming threat of Bogue and his men on horseback.
