Season 8 will not be the final season, according to ABC boss Paul Lee who commented on a Tuesday morning press call: “Not the final seasons of either,” when asked about “Castle” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” He added, “I would like to see them run for many, many seasons to come…they have incredibly passionate audiences.”
For Season 8 of “Castle,” Katic’s co-star Nathan Fillion is also set to return, finalizing his contract before his female lead back in April. Both actors’ — “our two beloved heroines and heroes,” raved Lee — contracts were up at the end of Season 7. The ink has also dried on contracts for Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas, who have both been on the show since the beginning.

Richard Castle will be back next season. Nathan Fillion recently signed a new contract and now ABC has renewed the Castle TV show for an eighth season. (It's currently unclear if Fillion's co-star Stana Katic will renew her contract as well.)
On Castle, the relationship of author Richard Castle (Fillion) and Detective Kate Beckett (Katic) is anything but smooth. The rest of the cast includes Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Tamala Jones, Molly Quinn, Penny Johnson Jerald, and Susan Sullivan.
The seventh season of Castle has been down by about 15% season-to-season (currently averaging a 1.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.47 million viewers) but it's still the network's fourth most-watched scripted series.
What do you think? Are you glad that the Castle TV show has been renewed? Should this be the final year? Would you watch without Katic? »

Yes, we love Caskett. Caskett is the reason we watch Castle. But it’s certainly not the only ‘ship we enjoy. When the writers have made us crazy by keeping Caskett apart and we’d thought, “Screw this, I’m out!” who kept us coming back?
That’s right: the bromance of Ryan and Esposito. They are just as funny, just as smart, and just as devoted (both to each other and Rick and Kate) as Caskett, but they never, ever break up or pretend not to hear the other when hovering near death. They always come through, even when that other couple leave us hanging, angry and/or frustrated.
And why not? Ryan and Esposito are both stand-up guys, dedicated to their jobs, »
