Anya Kochoff Romano, the screenwriter of “Mother’s Day” and “Monster-in-Law,” will make her directorial debut on the ensemble comedy “Camp Pow Wow,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Kochoff Romano will direct from her own script for Phoenix Rising Pictures, formed by Howard Burd, one of the producers of “Mother’s Day.” Bund will produce with Russell Hollander.

“Camp Pow Wow” centers on five backstabbing and vengeful office workers forced to endure each other’s company at a sleep-away camp for adults for the week.

Bund helped put together the financing for “Mother’s Day” and for “Criminal Activities,” starring John Travolta.

“Mother’s Day” was directed by Garry Marshall in his last directional gig before his death. The ensemble cast included Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, Timothy Olyphant, Britt Robertson, Héctor Elizondo, and Jack Whitehall. Do Kate Hudson's Electro-Shock Eye Patches Actually Work? We Tried Them!

28 August 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

A little electro-shock therapy goes a long way—at least for Kate Hudson, that is. The 37-year-old actress is one of those celebrities who never seem to age. What's her skin-saving secret, you ask? Botox? Unicorn blood? It can't just be an alkaline-based diet mixed with a strict routine of body-toning workouts, right?  Well, Kate did share that she uses electro under-eye patches to combat wrinkles on Snapchat. In fact, the mom of two wore crescent moon-shaped pads while driving in traffic one day—with wires tucked behind her ears, tracing down to a power source.  While the star is a one mean multi-tasker, we had to find out if those electricity pads properly function or »

'Deepwater Horizon' looks like the real deal

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective. Get off the phone, Mark Wahlberg! Get off the phone! Even if your wife is Kate Hudson, there are clearly some problems on this oil rig that need your attention! That's what I was thinking during most of this Deepwater Horizon trailer.  This is all a true story, and director Peter Berg and his crew have done an incredible job in terms of set design. They recreated the entire oil rig. The main deck, the heli-deck, the tanks, the drill shack, and the bridge, it's all there. Even the screens are real. That's incredible attention to detail. The audience can always sense when something is genuine. And I think that's what we're seeing here. I'm uneasy about movies like these because the 2010 tragedy on which its based is so »

The Trailer For Kyle Chandler's Oscar Hopeful Will Make You Cry Every Single Tear

24 August 2016 9:50 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The trailer is here for this year's Sundance breakout Manchester by the Sea, and it just may earn Kyle Chandler and Casey Affleck seats at the Oscars in 2017. Affleck plays a man who must decide if he can handle caring for his nephews after the death of his brother (Chandler). It's like the 2004 movie Raising Helen, only without Kate Hudson and with a lot more tears. We don't get to see a lot of Chandler, but hopefully he'll play a larger part in the movie than he does in the trailer. The movie, also starring Michelle Williams, will play at the Toronto Film Festival and will open in theaters on Nov. 18! »
