Comedy King Jerry Lewis Has Died at 91

Comedy king Jerry Lewis, whose manic style amused generations of moviegoers on both sides of the Atlantic, yet whose popularity often confounded critics, has died, his agent confirmed to People. He was 91.

Las Vegas Review Journal columnist John Katsilometes confirmed the news on Twitter on Sunday, writing that Lewis’ rep told him in a statement that he died at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday morning in his home in Las Vegas.

Penn Jillette also reacted to the news on Twitter, revealing that the comedian had died.

‘The Three Stooges’ Set for Indian TV Revival (Exclusive)

Larry, Moe and Curly are face-slapping and eye-poking their way to India.

U.S.-based C3 Entertainment’s iconic Vaudeville comedy franchise, “The Three Stooges,” is set to be adapted for Indian television. With a working title of “Three Stooges Bole Toh Hungama Ho Gaya,” the Hindi-language series is being developed by Mumbai-based Galani Entertainments.

A broadcaster has yet to be identified for the show, whose title translates into English as “When You Say ‘The Three Stooges’ You Mean a Laugh Riot.”

Galani Entertainments is linked to Vijay Galani Moviez/Film Folks, whose credits include Salman Khan vehicles “Veer” and “Suryavanshi” and “Ajnabee,” starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. New talent will be cast in the roles of Larry, Moe and Curly.

Tribeca’s stand-alone television festival will run from September 22-24 in New York City.

Tribeca Enterprises, the parent company of the Tribeca Film Festival, has announced that it is launching a standalone festival for TV in autumn.

Tribeca is expanding its existing April TV programme into the Tribeca TV Festival for episodic storytelling. 

The three-day festival will present curated shows and conversations representative of the cultural zeitgeist, featuring both cast and crew. 

Television programming has been a part of the Tribeca Film Festival since it screened the series finale of Friends in 2004 at the Tribeca Drive-In. 

In 2016, Tribeca launched an official section of the festival dedicated to TV programming, which has featured world premieres of new series and seasons of anticipated shows and special events, including the world premieres of Emmy-nominated programmes The Night Of and, this year, The Handmaid’s Tale.

Will & Grace is tapping a Tony Award winner for its highly anticipated return.

Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt is set to guest-star on an upcoming episode of the NBC revival. 

Stars Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes broke the news Thursday on social media, sharing a photo of the core ensemble surrounding the breakout Broadway star.

Debra Messing and Megan Mullally revealed in an Instagram video that the hit comedy was back on set for its first taping on Wednesday night.

“It’s opening night!” Messing, 48, said in the video. “We’re about to shoot it!”

Other cast members were also in the video, including Mullally, 58, who was right beside her sporting a big smile before Messing turned the camera to costars Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack, as well as other castmates.
