Kids' Shows You Wish Were Still On

25 May 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Nobody wants to admit it, but the TV shows you watch as a kid help shape your personality as an adult. Sure, there are lots of other factors, like your friends, family, and siblings, but for kids who were allowed television time -- or sneak-watched while at a friend's house -- TV shows were a vital part of shaping your worldview. From "The Powerpuff Girls" kicking butt in Townsville to the magic of the "Wizards of Waverly Place," kids shows that are no longer on the air were downright fascinating. Well, most of them.

That isn't to say kids' shows today aren't just as awesome as the classics. There's always "Adventure Time's" brilliance or the galactic plot lines of "Star Wars Rebels," but nothing compares to watching Miley Cyrus pretend to be two different people with only a wig to tell "them" apart. Of course, child stars grow up, »

Melissa Joan Hart Gets an Emotional Reading in First Look at New Season of Hollywood Medium

9 May 2016 11:43 AM, PDT | ChannelGuideMag | See recent ChannelGuideMag news »

At its debut in January of this year, the E! series Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry became the network’s most-watched unscripted series launch in three years, excluding spinoffs, in terms of total viewers. We would assume that E! is foreseeing, so to speak, similar success when the show returns for Season 2 on Aug. 16. In Season 2 of Hollywood Medium, the 20-year-old clairvoyant sees even more celebrities than he did in Season 1 — when he read for the likes of Amber Rose, Jaime Pressly, Boy George, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Margaret Cho. This time, without any prior knowledge of who he … Continue reading →

God’s Not Dead 2 – one for the faithful

1 May 2016 12:00 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Melissa Joan Hart stars in a courtroom drama to warm the Christian heart

This message movie sequel is essentially a feature-length advertisement for Jesus. Melissa Joan Hart stars as Grace (get it?), a teacher who happens to make a passing reference to Jesus during a class discussion. She is hauled over the coals by mealy-mouthed non-believers in a courtroom drama which owes more to pantomime than legal procedure. Shot in holy high-definition, with lots of histrionic crane shots that swoop down like angels from on high and a score that batters the audience into observance, this is a film that will work best when preaching to the converted.

God's Not Dead 2 review – hammy and righteous courtroom drama

28 April 2016 2:30 PM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

A Christian college teacher skewered by an anxious school board gets her chance for vindication – or martyrdom – in front of a jury

The almighty may not be dead, but Nietzsche is rolling in his grave. Angry, smug self-pity is becoming the keynote of the God’s Not Dead Christian movie franchise. This new drama is about how Christians are threatened and oppressed in … well, where do you think? Iraq? Syria? Places where millennia of Christian traditions are genuinely being trashed and their believers in real danger? Erm, no – this film is set in the Us, where Christians are crushed under the jackboot of sneering liberals and pantomime-villain atheists. A schoolteacher (Melissa Joan Hart) is discussing the non-violence of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, and answers a student’s question about their teaching’s resemblance to that of Jesus – doing so moreover with exemplary caution and scholarship. She is threatened with »

God’s Not Dead 2 review: “Plot that panders to its core audience.”

27 April 2016 11:39 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

God’s Not Dead 2 review: Sequel to a surprise hit that is confidently Christian, even if it isn’t very good. God’s Not Dead 2 review

Does a non-believer have any place reviewing an unapologetically Christian movie? It’s a good question, with the result being that God’s Not Dead 2 is critic-proof. Like the big budget blockbusters protected by franchise links, you already know if you’re going to see this. However, I have no bias against films that employ faith or religious aspects. Ben-Hur and The Passion Of The Christ being fantastic pieces of work. What should be an issue, to all moviegoers, is when a film is this unintentionally funny and mawkish. A sequel to the surprise hit, but following a different cast in the lead roles, God’s Not Dead 2 takes a timely subject matter (for the Us at least), and squanders it on a plot »

Pat Boone Accuses 'SNL' of Anti-Christian Bias After 'God's Not Dead 2' Parody

Pat Boone is calling out NBC and Saturday Night Live for allegedly being anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, cowardly, “diabolical” and even demonic for a skit over the weekend that parodied God’s Not Dead 2, the actor-singer’s latest movie. In God’s Not Dead 2, Melissa Joan Hart plays a public school teacher who is persecuted for answering a student’s question about Jesus. In the SNL skit, a trailer for a movie called God is a Boob Man features a woman being forced by a Jewish Aclu lawyer to declare that “God is gay.” “God has a sense of humor. Why
