Remember Nate Richert from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch? He famously played Melissa Joan Hart's onscreen sweetheart - the lovable, dependable Harvey Kinkle - in the '90s series. Besides being the boy-next-door cutie, he also spent quality time (when he wasn't unwittingly under a spell!) with Sabrina's beloved cat, Salem, and who doesn't love a guy with a soft spot for furry felines. Fast-forward to over a decade since the series has ended, and Richert is still in show business - but has taken on a whole new role. He is still capable of melting hearts, but this time as a musician. »

Emma Stone radiates on-screen chemistry in the movies; so it’s hard to expect anything less on Broadway, where she’s currently playing Sally Bowles, the decadent, yet vulnerable singer in the hit musical Cabaret. No surprise, she largely delivers. Sally is a complex role that has been essayed by some of the most renown actresses over its many revivals, including the incomparable Liza Minnelli. Jill Haworth played Sally when Cabaret debuted on Broadway in 1966, kicking off more than 1,100 performances that saw Anita Gillette and Melissa Hart also play the part. But Minnelli defined the role in the 1972 movie version directed by Bob Fosse. She was joined by Michael York and Joel Grey, who reprised his role from Broadway. [...] »
Back in the wild world of the '90s, before Wikipedia and Yahoo! Answers were tending to the questions of growing minds, kids turned to television to get advice. And one of the greatest TV sages was Nickelodeon's Clarissa Darling. The fast-talking, free-spirited, self-dressing tween dispensed sassy knowledge to viewers on Clarissa Explains It All, taking on every subject from dating to how to deal with annoying little brothers. Played by Melissa Joan Hart, Clarissa has developed a nostalgic following as '90s kids grow up and fondly think back to the simpler times of landlines and neighbors who entered through the window. »

Look, Peter Pan is not a great piece of musical theater. You know it. I know it. Vegetable Lasagna here knows it. It is a very light children's story which can pleasantly divert a family's attention for a couple of hours. It is a harmless piece of material. These are the types of musicals I, typically, do not respond to. So, I went into NBC's second venture into the live musical telecast, after the massive ratings success of "The Sound of Music Live!", wanting a good time and hoping they will have learned from some of their mistakes with last year's production. I mostly got what I expected. It was a decent production of a mediocre musical. However, there was one monkey wrench thrown in I really did not expect, but more on that later. The biggest problem with "The Sound of Music Live!" was, of course, Carrie Underwood in the lead role of Maria. »

Don’t be surprised if elements of “Peter Pan” show up in the commercial breaks during NBC’s live Thursday telecast of the famous 1904 play.
Walmart, which ran ads during NBC’s live broadcast of “The Sound of Music” last year that used songs from the play to make a marketing point, will again serve as lead sponsor of the live event, and will use commercials that echo the action that just took place in the play just before the production cuts to advertising. All five of the spots will also feature Tinkerbell (or, at least, the version of the character being used in the NBC production).
Walmart will have the heaviest presence in what is a sold-out program, said Dan Lovinger, executive vice president of entertainment ad sales at NBCUniversal. “I think that the industry, and certainly America, is really falling in love with concepts like this,” he said. »

There's always been a strange dichotomy to horror as a genre. There's the real, hard-edged, genuinely scary stuff, but also the cheesy and hilarious, where we delight in the misfortune of the characters we watch instead of fearing for them. But where things get really interesting is when those lines get blurred, intentionally or not. That's when you get scary things coming from places you wouldn't expect, or the unintentional comedy that comes from something trying really hard to be scary. With October being the designated month for all things spooky, and Halloween just hours away, now's the perfect time »
