Simpsons Movie 2 Will Happen Under One Condition Says Producer

27 July 2016 10:03 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last week, Fox brought a whopping 13 shows to San Diego Comic-Con, one of which was the network's longest-running show, The Simpsons. It is going into its 28th season this fall. Several of the show's producers and voice cast members greeted fans in San Diego to discuss this upcoming season, but they also addressed the possibility of a sequel to 2007's The Simpsons Movie. As it turns out, according to showrunner Al Jean, a movie still very well may happen.

Fox released a highlights video on YouTube just a few days after the panel, which features a fan asking whether or not another Simpsons Movie will happen. Way back in 2009, series creator Matt Groening didn't sound too optimistic about the possibility of The Simpsons Movie 2, bemoaning the fact that it took four years to make, instead of the two years they were planning. When asked about a new movie at this year's Sdcc panel, »

This live-action ‘Futurama’ fan film is Scary Real

19 July 2016 4:57 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Did you ever wonder what the characters of Matt Groening's Futurama would look like in the real world? Thanks to a new fan film, you won't have to. You might also never sleep again. Maybe it's just me but the trailer for this fan film (called Fan-o-Rama) is Freaking Me Out. Honestly though, this group from Cinema Relics really went the extra mile. The sets specifically are giving me a Pee-wee's Playhouse vibe, but it's those prosthetics/masks that are really getting me. See for yourself. A little more background info from their site: In the year 2014 one man, Dan Lanigan, in addition to other men, and some women, set out on a quest to become the first person in his family to create a live-action Futurama fan film. He is now regarded by most of his immediate kin as the foremost authority on the subject. This is his story. »

Ask Homer: ‘The Simpsons’ go live

17 February 2016 10:28 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Motion capture technology has been used for years to create some astounding characters and now arguably its apex has finally arrived. On May 15th actor Dan Castellaneta will don a special suit in order to answer questions live as Homer Simpson.

Viewers have three minutes in which to tweet the man in the blue pants, in a segment to follow a regular episode of The Simpsons. While everything is to be submitted in advance via the hashtag #HomerLive, it’s still a risky venture for the team, who have already realized America’s premier dysfunctional family in CGI and puppet form for special instalments. Plus with the time difference between East and West coasts Castellaneta will be performing two Q & As.

The set up mirrors Season 12’s Homr, where Homer disgraced himself playing a cartoon character, forgetting he was still wired to the screen and going to the bathroom.

The Simpsons: 10 Funniest Episodes Ever Made

27 January 2016 6:53 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

20th Century Fox

In its heyday, no show delivered the laughs like The Simpsons. In its early years, Matt Groening’s iconic television phenomenon delivered some of the best and most memorable jokes in the sitcom history. Week after week, audiences would tune into The Simpsons for the laughs – so well observed and unexpected and truly clever was the writing, it changed television comedy forever.

When it comes to ranking the “best” episodes of The Simpsons, then, most lists tend to hone in all those episodes that deliver both excellent jokes and lots of heart in equal measure – episodes like And Maggie Makes Three and Lisa’s Substitute, which managed to offer up a deft blend of hilarity and genuine sentiment at the same time.

But what if you set out to pick the funniest episodes of the show, based entirely on their ability to crack you up and nothing else? »

A Series Of Unfortunate Events: Neil Patrick Harris for Count Olaf?

18 January 2016 1:18 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Count Olaf could be played by Neil Patrick Harris in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of A Series Of Unfortunate Events

Netflix’s adaptation of A Series Of Unfortunate Events has quite possibly found its Count Olaf. How I Met Your Mother, Gone Girl and 2015 Oscars star Neil Patrick Harris is reportedly in talks to portray the immoral adoptive father – presumably in a variety of disguises – in the upcoming series.

If he takes the part, he’ll be stepping into the shoes of Jim Carrey, who did a fine job portraying Lemony Snicket’s orphan-harassing creation in the 2004 movie version. It’s worth mentioning that Harris has comedic villainous form of his own, having starred in Joss Whedon’s web series Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

This casting rumour has originated from The Hollywood Reporter, who have certainly hit the nail right on the head with their speculation »

Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, is developing a new animated series for Netflix. Confirming the news, The Hollywood Reporter has hinted at a possible two-season run with 20 episodes in total for the as-yet-unnamed show. Groening created a cultural phenomenon with The Simpsons before turning his hand to the science fiction genre for follow-up Futurama. Despite a dip in quality in recent years The Simpsons has proven enduringly popular, still going strong with over 550 episodes and holding the title of longest running prime time U.S. television show. With erratic scheduling and a lengthy hiatus, Futurama's run proved less stable despite maintaining a loyal fan base and inventive writing up until its end in 2013.   After redefining the American family for a generation of...
