Outrage Watch: Katy Perry scores a K.O. over Ok

11 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Welcome to the March 30, 2015 edition of Outrage Watch, HitFix's (almost) daily rundown of all the things folks are peeved about in entertainment. Today's top story: Katy Perry scores a win over the tabloid press. Ok! magazine has retracted a story claiming that the pop superstar was pregnant and planning a wedding with ex-boyfriend John Mayer, presumably after threats of legal action by the singer. Perry subsequently retweeted the magazine's entire retraction before following up with the tweet: Remember these magazines are fiction designed for entertainment. No One speaks for me. Instead let the previous tweets speak for themselves. — Katy Perry (@katyperry) March 30, 2015 Assuming she typed this from atop an animatronic tiger. Want more? There's plenty of indignation to go around. See below for a full roundup of today's kerfuffles. Jamie Foxx iHeart Joke Uproar: Is This the End of Adult Humor? (watch!)

14 hours ago | TheImproper.com | See recent TheImproper.com news »

Jamie Foxx drew a strong rebuke on social media over his joke about Bruce Jenner’s pending sex change during his opening monologue at the iHeart Radio Awards last night (Mar. 29), in another sign that adult humor may be endangered. Foxx’s remark was blasted for being “transphobic,” which means someone who is antagonistic toward transsexuality and transsexual or transgender people. Whether the definition fits Foxx is a stretch. But the outcry on social media is disturbing nonetheless. ...Read More »

What You Missed at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards

18 hours ago | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Missed the iHeartRadio Music Awards? Pat yourself on the back! For a show that's about as haphazard as YouTube's Music Awards were in their inaugural year, it has somehow made it into its second year. At last night's ceremony, hosted by Jamie Foxx, Taylor Swift walked away the big winner (no surprise there), picking up awards for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for "Shake It Off," and Best Lyrics. Another big winner? Justin Timberlake, who received the Innovator Award (a.k.a. the award that networks bribe legacy artists with when they're in desperate need of high-profile faces not named Taylor Swift to cut to during performances and things). But, like any awards show, the night was all about the performances, unfiltered moments, and, of course, Taylor Swift dancing in the audience. Let's run through the highlights first. Jamie Foxx Makes Disrespectful Bruce Jenner Jokes at iHeartRadio Music Awards

The 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards got off to a rough start. Host Jamie Foxx kicked off the festivities with a couple jokes at Bruce Jenner's expense, jokes that are now being called transphobic all over Twitter. While Bruce has yet to confirm reports he's undergoing gender reassignment surgery, that didn't stop the "Annie" star from taking aim at Jenner's potential transition during Sunday night's show. "We have some groundbreaking performances here too tonight. We got Bruce Jenner, will be here doing some musical performances. He’s doing a his and her duet all by himself," Foxx cracked. "Look, I’m just busting your balls while I still can," he then added. It's clear the joke was cleared with event organizers, as a photo of Bruce was seen on the screens behind Foxx during his monologue. The host pulled double duty, kicking off the live show with a medley performance of his hits “Chains” and “Jealous.” Welcomed by a video montage of A-listers chanting his name — Taylor Swift, Heidi Klum and, of course, SpongeBob SquarePants’ Patrick Star — Jonas took the stage, in front of the star-studded audience, including Chris Pratt, Jamie Foxx and Angelina Jolie, who was joined by two of her kids, Shiloh and Zahara.

“A lot of girls in the house are still struggling after One Direction became two directions,” Jonas greeted the crowd, alluding to this week’s news of the boy band losing member Zayn Malik. Poking fun at himself, he quipped, “What’s next, the Jonas Brother?”

Stars: Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, Christoph Waltz, Jonathan Banks, Lindsay Sloane | Written by Sean Anders, John Morris | Directed by Sean Anders

If ever there was a film that was not ripe for a sequel, it was Horrible Bosses. That film had a finite story, with the trio of idiots: Bateman, Sudeikis and Day, finally getting their comeuppance of their titular bosses. But of course this is Hollywood, where a film that – even when a story doesn’t warrant a sequel – if it makes enough money studio heads will go back to the well enough times to drain it dry… Hence we have Horrible Bosses 2.

This time round directing duties lie with Sean Anders, who penned the script with his frequent writing cohort Jim Morris, both of whom were behind one of the The best teen movies of the past ten years, »
