The “Scandal” finale set up the presidential election for Season 6 in ways Gladiators could have never expected. After Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) nabbed the presidential nominations last week, their vice presidential running mates were revealed in Thursday night’s season ender.

Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) ended up being selected to run with Mellie, though he doesn’t seem privy to the idea — but he’s going along with it because Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) came up with the idea in order to save him. However, it seems that Rowan (Joe Morton) has a master plan to get Jake, Olivia and himself into the White House by way of Mellie’s ticket. I spy Agent Carter on the unemployment line.

ABC has cancelled the Hayley Atwell-fronted Marvel series after two acclaimed-yet-little-seen seasons, TVLine has learned.

In TVLine’s annual “Keep or Cut” poll, 83 percent of respondents wanted to see the drama renewed. The show’s low ratings, however, likely made a third season cost-prohibitive for ABC. The Season 2 finale in March pulled in just 2.35 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating, hitting and tying series lows.

5 TV Shows to Watch If You Miss College Life

12 May 2016 12:00 PM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Ah, sweet college -- the perfect fusion of freedom and dependence, childhood and adulthood, midterms and hangovers. For many students, it takes escaping high school and heading off to college to find out who they really are and who they really want to be. It's okay to miss it sometimes, or even most of the time.

Fortunately, television will always be here to help you relive your glory days. These college-set series cover the good, the bad, and the hilariously pathetic parts of higher learning. For every randomly selected roommate who became an instant best friend, there was a mind-numbingly boring professor with a two-hour lecture on the origin of language. For every idyllic fall day on campus, there was a boxed macaroni-and-cheese mishap. And for every deep, personal revelation, there was a moment of being too hungover to get out of bed, let along get to class.
