International San Andreas Trailer Packs In More Disaster Carnage

6 April 2015 12:48 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Furious 7 hit theaters across the world this past weekend, thoroughly dousing cinemagoers in more grandiose action-porn than any of the previous installments dared to produce. Around the franchise’s fifth outing, Fast Five, the racing element gave way to make room for bigger, global adventures for Dom’s crew. Part of that expansion saw the inclusion of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as government agent Hobbs. Oddly enough, his onscreen counterpart spends much of Furious 7′s screen time laid up in the hospital, leaving most of us desperate for his powerhouse action hero antics. But fear not, because Johnson’s back in the saddle for San Andreas.

Much like Roland Emmerich’s 2012 prophesied the planet’s descent in total destruction at the hands of mother nature, director Brad Peyton hones in on one particular disaster – the San Andreas earthquake. As is common knowledge, Los Angeles rests on the infamous titular fault line, »

San Andreas Trailer Sees California Crumble From The Inside Out

10 March 2015 9:45 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s epic poster is an all-new trailer for Dwayne Johnson actioner San Andreas, which sees the entire state of California besieged by a mammoth earthquake dubbed “The Big One.”

Showcasing a sense of scale and destruction that even Michael Bay would be proud of, the trailer pulls no punches in tearing the west coast apart from the inside out. And though the film ramps up the chaos for the sake of entertainment (unlike, say, Roland Emmerich’s 2012), San Andreas has connections with scientific theory about tectonics, particularly the titular fault line. Given that the last major quake — weighing in at a staggering 7.8 on the Richter scale — occurred over a century ago, the scientific consensus is that another huge shift is inevitable.

But terrifying statistics aside, with Brad Peyton in the director’s chair, the upcoming flick marks the filmmaker’s second collaboration with Johnson »

Dwayne Johnson Tackles The Big One In New Poster For Disaster Pic San Andreas

9 March 2015 12:04 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

For the longest time, Independence Day and 2012 director Roland Emmerich has been considered as the king of cinematic destruction in Hollywood, knocking down monument after monument on-screen with his own bombastic style. However, there’s one summer blockbuster set to give the filmmaker a run for his money: Brad Peyton’s San Andreas.

Reuniting with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the disaster pic will see the actor take point as Ray Gaines on a one-man rescue mission to recover his daughter Blake (played by True Detective‘s Alexandra Daddario). From the debut trailer released a couple of months back, the sense of scale is unquestionable, with California rocked by a monumental earthquake appropriately dubbed “The Big One.”

Now, with the film’s May release date fast approaching, Johnson has unveiled a brand new poster for San Andreas, which sees his special ops firefighter drop down into the crumbling chaos. »
