Despite the fact that Baywatch has been near-universally panned by critics and find it tough going at the box office during its opening weekend, it seems that Paramount Pictures is already looking towards a potential sequel for the big screen reboot of the hugely-popular 90s TV series.
“We have an amazing story already,” producer Beau Flynn tells Variety. “We’re bringing back [screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift] who wrote on the first one, and I know Dwayne Johnson would be in, I know Zac Efron and all the girls would be. We just have this really cool idea to put them in this whole new world. We would take it overseas.”

Dwayne Johnson seems to be immune to failure, even when critics generally agree that one of his movies is terrible. The movie in question? Baywatch. Despite the critical lashing, it looks like we may be seeing Baywatch 2 washing up in theaters, according to one of the producers, Beau Flynn.
While speaking with Variety, Beau Flynn revealed that the writing team Damian Shannon and Mark Swift are already working on the story for Baywatch 2. He also revealed that the principal cast members, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron will return, should Paramount decided to actually move ahead with the sequel. Here's what Beau Flynn had to say about it.
"We have an amazing story already. We're bringing back Shannon and Swift who wrote on the first one, and I know Dwayne would be in, I know Zac and all the girls would be. We just have this really cool »
The new film Baywatch opened this week, starring the hilarious duo of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Based on the series of the same name starring David Hasselhoff, the movie version has taken a very self-aware, tongue in cheek approach, not unlike the 21 Jump Street films. But is Baywatch a "one and done" film adaptation like Starsky and Hutch, or will it continue to follow the model set by the 21 Jump Street films? Do I even need to ask in Hollywood's current climate?

Baywatch: Producer Beau Flynn says that a potential sequel to Baywatch would bring back stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron: "We just have this really cool idea to put them in this whole new world. We would take it overseas.” Flynn says the intention is also to bring back writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, as well as "all the girls" in the cast. Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach both confirmed their interest in reprising their roles. Baywatch is now playing in theaters nationwide. Reed Tucker at the New York Post said “it washes up on the beach like a dead whale.” Katie Walsh at the Tribune News Service accused it of being “directed incompetently” and our own Matt Donato labelled it “bloated to a point where no push-ups or dietary restrictions can help.” Currently sitting pretty at 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, it looks as though Seth Gordon’s Baywatch is a cinematic shit sandwich (though sadly, it’s likely to be an extremely profitable shit sandwich).
So, naturally, they’re already planning up a second helping for us. Variety reports that producer Beau Flynn is currently sizing up a sequel that would reunite the cast on more questionably funny beachside adventures.
“We have an amazing story already,” says Flynn. “We’re bringing back Shannon and Swift who wrote on the first one, and I know Dwayne would be in, I know Zac and all the girls would be. »

“Baywatch” is swimming into multiplexes this Memorial Day weekend, but is dragging along with it a dismal 19% score on Rotten Tomatoes (here’s our review). But who needs critics, when you have Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and a whole lot of beautiful co-stars showing off lots of skin? Producer Beau Flynn is certainly hoping that’s all audiences want to see, as he revealed plans are already cooking for a sequel that will, naturally, expand the scope of the franchise.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson doesn't like to openly support or slam any one politician, but he does have some thoughts on how a world leader should act.
Johnson then shares the qualities he thinks are important in a Commander-in-chief. "Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. [If I didn't agree with someone] on something, I wouldn't shut them out. I would actually include them," he explains. "The first thing we'd do is we'd come and sit down and we'd talk about it."
Bringing the conversation back to Trump, he adds, "It's hard to categorize right now how I think he's doing »
Global megastar Dwayne Johnson headlines New Line Cinema's action adventure Rampage, for director/producer Brad Peyton. Beau Flynn, John Rickard and Hiram Garcia are also producing the film, currently on location in Atlanta, for an April 20, 2018 release. Rampage marks the third collaboration between Johnson, Peyton and Flynn, following the blockbuster San Andreas. Following the latest set photo featuring George the Ape and Dwayne Johnson, New Line released the first synopsis for Rampage, which reveals new details about Dwayne Johnson's character Davis Okoye.
"Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it's soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, »
Aquaman isn’t the only 2018 tentpole easing into production – Rampage, the video game adaptation of Midway’s arcade classic, has officially set up shop at New Line, and we now know Dwayne Johnson’s character to be a primatologist named Davis Okoye.
News comes hand-in-hand with the first set picture featuring The Rock standing alongside the “extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla” known as George – or, rather, Jason Liles, the 6’9 motion-capture expert who will be bringing the infected simian to life on set. Indeed, George is one of three animals to be grossly mutated as a result of a genetic experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong – a lizard and wolf are also in line to become hulking rage monsters, for those keeping track – and recent revelations have identified Malin Akerman and Jake Lacy’s twisted siblings as the human adversaries of Rampage.
Together, they’re the lifeblood of The Griffin Technologies Group, and »

Dwayne Johnson takes to Instagram to share plot details for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic 1980s arcade game Rampage. Johnson is on a role right now with the enormous success of Fate of the Furious, which just surpassed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office and the upcoming big screen adaptation of Bay Watch later this month. Johnson is showing no signs of slowing down; fresh off of the production of Jumanji 2 he has jumped headfirst into Rampage, which is set to open April 20th, 2018.
Some information regarding the plot of Rampage has been talked about in some form or another, but this is the first official news coming straight from Johnson's Instagram feed. Johnson went on to detail some of the broader plot points on Saturday afternoon with the obligatory workout photo (Dude, we get it. You're buff). With Johnson's trademark humor and enthusiasm intact, he »
Roughly a year and a half after Dwayne Johnson signed on to star in Disney's Jungle Cruise, the studio has finally given the green light to the project. Production is now slated to begin in the spring of 2018, with the studio beginning its search for a director to take over the project. Dwayne Johnson will also produce through his Seven Bucks Productions company, alongside Dany Garcia. The actor-producer took to his Instagram page earlier today to confirm the news, with the following statement.
"This is a big one we've been working on. Very excited to roll up the sleeves and work on building out this huge property with our Disney partners. This #JungleCruise script was hand delivered to me personally (on the set of Ballers) by my good bud and Walt Disney's President of Production, Sean Bailey. Read the script twice that weekend and Loved It! Thank God, the script »
