It seems Miley Cyrus just had too much on her plate.

The 24-year-old singer took to Instagram to explain her absence at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, confessing that she "created an unrealistic schedule" for herself as she prepared to drop her new single, "Younger Now." Cyrus was set to accept the award show's highest honor, the Ultimate Choice Award.

Miley Cyrus will be kicking off the fall season with some new tunes.

On Tuesday, the 24-year-old singer announced that her new album, Younger Now, will drop on Sept. 29. Cyrus shared the big news on social media with a video of a studded leather jacket with "Younger Now" appearing in rope, and tagged her designer friend, Jeremy Scott, in the post. Coincidentally, Scott's runway show at New York Fashion Week will take place on Sept. 8, just a few weeks prior to Cyrus' album release.

People can confirm the celebrity musicians who will serve as season 13 advisors. Miley Cyrus will be joined by her father Billy Ray Cyrus, while Joe Jonas will assist Adam Levine, and Rascal Flatts will team up with Blake Shelton on the hit NBC reality series.

Joining new judge Jennifer Hudson, who served as the winning coach on last season’s The Voice UK, is Kelly Rowland, who is currently a coach on the Australian version.

Frank Tanki Named Cmt Gm as President Brian Philips Steps Down

Updated 11:10 A.M. Brian Philips is stepping down from his role as president of Cmt. Frank Tanki has been promoted to general manager of the cable channel.

Philips announced on Thursday that he is leaving the Viacom-owned network. In a memo to the Cmt staff obtained by Variety, Philips said he has been thinking of leaving for a while now, “but agreed to stay to help navigate through the recent exciting ‘brand renewal.'”
