When it comes to appearing on Empire, there seems to be one common thread: Lee Daniels. The director, who helped creator Fox’s hit new series with writer/actor Danny Strong, comes from a critically acclaimed film background. Both Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon) and Gabourey Sidibe (Becky Williams) earned Oscar recognition thanks to Daniels work behind the camera.
Daniels has worked with an impressive pool of actors, which includes everyone from Dame Helen Mirren to Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. While we’d never expect to see Mirren on the show -- though it would be delightful if she made a voice cameo like she did on Glee -- we do love the idea of Combs getting back into acting, Nicole Kidman returning to her camp days, or even Zac Efron revisiting the musical world that first made him a star.

Jennifer Lopez thinks ''singers or dancers'' make the best lovers. The 'On the Floor' hitmaker was previously married to waiter Ojani Noa, dancer Cris Judd and singer Marc Anthony, and was engaged to actor Ben Affleck and dated dancer Casper Smart and rapper P. Diddy, and she has now suggested not all the men in her life have been impressive in the bedroom. Asked who makes the best lovers, she replied: ''I would say singers or dancers.'' And the 45-year-old beauty - who has seven-year-old twins Max and Emme with Marc - also admitted she has been left feeling inadequate after being cheated on the past. Speaking in the new issue of Loaded magazine, she said: ''I've been in relationships where there has been infidelity and you're left to feel like you did something wrong, like there's something wrong with you, you're not enough, all of those feelings that we struggle with. »
It's officially: Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé have officially joined fashion week forces. The 33-year-old E! star and the "Flawless" singer were seated front row together at New York Fashion Week today, where the two superstars attended Kanye West's Adidas runway show. But those weren't the only famous faces who came out to support 'Ye's latest collaboration! Joining her famous mama in the front row was 20-month-old North West, who was seated on the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star's lap at the opening of the show, as well as Bey's wife Jay Z (daughter Blue Ivy was not in attendance), Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and »
"Empire" creator Lee Daniels says the inspiration for the show's main character didn't come from a famous hip-hop mogul ... it came in part from the Kennedy matriarch. Lee was heading out of Equinox when he shot down rumors P. Diddy or Jay Z may have been the germ of the idea for the show. There were multiple inspirations ... a little here, a little there, but it seems the Kennedy influence loomed large. Hint: it's not JFK. »

An emphasis on style over substance is a comfortable fit for “Fresh Dressed,” a snazzy docu portrait of hip-hop’s influence on the fashion world. Focused specifically on the ’80s origins, ’90s boom and ’00s collapse of a particular strain of flamboyant, graffiti-colored, oversized sartorial statement making, the directorial debut of journalist Sacha Jenkins doesn’t provide much in the way of fresh insight into the topic it’s covering. But the breezily likable pic benefits from an underexposed topic and solid execution. Picked up by Samuel Goldwyn Films and StyleHaul post-Sundance bow, this CNN Films presentation will likely find limited buyers in theaters before connecting with a broader customer base via smallscreen exposure.
Jenkins opens with an amusing vintage TV clip featuring a young man and woman happily showing off their fat laces, Kangol hats and fresh B-boy looks. He makes it clear from the get-go that dressing “fresh” (looking like a million bucks, »

An original, cutting-edge comedy program with a NYC-specific brand of weirdness, "The Chris Gethard Show" has been picked up by Fusion for 10 half-hour long episodes. The network has also acquired the rights to 20 episodes previously shown on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. In conjunction with Fusion, the show is also being produced by Funny or Die. If you've never heard of "The Chris Gethard Show," you should head over to its YouTube channel and become acquainted immediately. Accurately described on its website as "the most bizarre and oftentimes saddest talk show in New York City," the hilarious and mostly improvised show is hosted by comedian Chris Gethard. Beginning its run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in 2009, the show quickly gained popularity, along with some publicity after a successful campaign to get Sean 'P Diddy' Combs to appear as a guest on the show -- in 2011, the show moved »

From Janet's wardrobe malfunction to Prince's risque pantomime, the Super Bowl halftime show has featured moments that are sometimes more memorable than the game itself. On a massive worldwide stage, audiences have seen everything from a Destiny's Child reunion to a show-stopping performance from the King of Pop.
Here's a look at some of the Super Bowl's best halftime moments:
7. Bruno Mars Brings the Funk
The halftime show is using more about spectacle than musicianship, and while Bruno Mars certainly had plenty of flash, he and his terrific dancing band also brought some serious chops to their halftime performance at Super Bowl Xlviii in 2014. The feel-good performance got the crowd (and audience at home) on their feet and a cameo from the Red Hot Chili Peppers only sweetened the deal (even if their guitars were unplugged).
6. Diana Ross Takes Flight

Kesha woke up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy, but she sure didn't look like him by the time afternoon rolled around! The 27-year-old "Timber' singer Instagrammed a super sexy shot of herself modeling some lingerie-esque attire Thursday. Wearing only a pair of black lace underwear and a see-through top, the masked and braless (!) songstress showed off her slim figure and healthy curves as she posed against a wall. Kesha certainly looks comfortable in her own skin these days, but that hasn't always been the case. In January 2014, she checked into rehab for her eating disorder. After completing two months of treatment, she wrote about the experience for Elle UK, admitting, "I've »

Ok, so it’s fair to say I’m not a sports guy. I hated playing sports in high school, I don’t watch sports on TV (well apart from the odd Superbowl on Channel 4 back when I was a teenager) and I certainly would never choose to watch sports over a movie. But what about sports movies? I’m a sucker for them! Of course it helped that I had a parent who loved the feel-good underdog stories that many a sports flick was essentially built around. Thanks to my mum I grew up watching sports movies such as Major League, Lucas, Field of Dreams, Hoosiers, The Mighty Ducks and many more…

The only thing more interesting than musicians is when they work together. Collaborations between two or more musicians/groups can be awesome (i.e. Killer Mike & El-p, David Bowie & Trent Reznor) or not so awesome (P. Diddy & Jimmy Page, David Bowie & Mick Jagger). With the news of Mr. Yeezy doing a song with Paul McCartney; people were either stoked, mortified or didn’t even know who Paul McCartney is (my contemporaries depress me sometimes). Their collaboration “Only One” is a smooth neo-spiritual song that caught a lot of people by surprise, despite my general disdain towards the two I felt […] »
