Stephen Collins opened up to Katie Couric this week about his history of abuse, saying, "I am a flawed person," in an interview that will appear both on Yahoo and on ABC's 20/20 Friday, Dec. 19. The teaser for the interview features Stephen discussing his time on 7th Heaven as well as his faith. The interview comes after Stephen released a statement earlier this week regarding his admitted sexual abuse of teenage girls. Stephen's interviews are related to the audio tape, released in October, of him confessing to having sexual contact with multiple children. “7th Heaven” star Stephen Collins has admitted to molesting three underage girls decades ago.
“Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret,” Collins told People magazine in a statement. “I have been working to atone for it ever since. As difficult as this is, I want people to know the truth.”
The molestation allegations against the actor surfaced in October when TMZ published an audio recording of Collins talking about inappropriate contact with three underage girls between 1973 and 1994. The fallout was swift for the actor known for playing the wholesome minister and patriarch of “7th Heaven.”
Collins was quickly fired from a role in the comedy “Ted 2,” and he lost a guest shot on ABC’s “Scandal.” Reruns of “7th Heaven” were also pulled from Up TV’s lineup.
The Los Angeles Police Department had previously investigated an incident involving Collins in 2012 but closed it soon afterward. »

Stephen Collins may now best known be as a wolf in sheep's clothing, playing Reverend Camden on the Christian family show 7th Heaven while abusing children. Even though it appears that he admitted to molesting and exposing himself to kids on three separate occasions in a leaked therapy session with his estranged wife Faye Grant, TMZ now reports that the neither the Lapd nor the NYPD will prosecute him because they are hampered by statute of limitations. Neither police department has made any official statements and they are still investigating the matter. Grant also alleges that Collins molested another child while shooting 7th Heaven from 1996 to 2007, but the victim has not stepped forward as of yet. »

Collins, who recently appeared in NBC’s “Revolution,” was allegedly caught on tape admitting to an an incident in which he exposed himself to a 10 year-old girl.
TMZ first broke the story on Tuesday.
Collins starred in the “7th Heaven” series in the late 90s opposite Jessica Biel and has appeared on ABC’s “Scandal” and “The Fosters.”
“There is a formal complaint on file and the incident is being investigated by the Manhattan Special Victims Squad,” a law enforcement official told FOX411.
A spokeswoman for the actor could not be reached for comment.
