5 Reasons Why Family Guy Should Be Cancelled

27 November 2013 5:49 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Much like the Adam Carolla-voiced Grim Reaper character, Family Guy has been dicing with death down the years.

In 2000, at the end of its second season, the Fox network announced the adult animation had been cancelled, but subsequently handed it a last minute reprieve and ordered an additional 13 new episodes.

That was, until 2005, when positive DVD sales and syndicated ratings caught the network’s attention and persuaded them to renew it, handing yet another chance to Peter Griffin and co.

For the most part, the decision to breathe life back into Family Guy appears to have been a good decision on the face of it – nominated for thirteen Emmy Awards, »

Hardy came on last week to “Rocketman,” produced by Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish of Rocket Pictures and Lawrence Bender for AI Films and Michael Gracey directing. Good Universe is handling international sales at Afm.

Afm will open Wednesday amid several robust indicators — a six-year high of over 8,000 participants, 100 new buying companies and a record number of companies from the booming Chinese market.

“It’s safe to say that we are going to be able to say that the Chinese presence at Afm is increasing for the next decade,” Afm managing director Jonathan Wolf told Variety. “The big question is whether the Chinese market will evolve to be like the U.S. market and dominated by global titles or become »

Jimmy Kimmel had his hands full on Thursday night. As Kanye West was hate-calling him and throwing a temper tantrum at him on Twitter, Kimmel simultaneously had two other balls in the air. One of them was a deep-fried risotto ball. While Kimmel was taping Thursday’s night’s show with food-centric guest Anthony Bourdain, waiters were already serving wine and lots of other red-sauced dishes at seated tables outdoors behind the studio for Kimmel’s Italian Feast of San Gennaro opening night, the Prima Notte gala. Say My Name!

Vince over at Film Drunk just wrote a post about how many times The name "Steve" is said in this weekend's new film Jobs, a film I had the pleasure of skipping (it was either that or Kick-Ass 2) and based on all I've heard I made the right decision. Vince counted 73 total times the name was said, which immediately made me think of Titanic and how many times the name Jack and Rose are said in that film. Lo and behold, Vince posted a supercut of how many times those two names are said in Titanic and also included this quote from Albert Brooks on the Adam Carolla podcast that I'd never read before: "There are things I can't stand in movies, that can be so easily fixed. I don't like peoples' names... I'm gonna talk to you for an hour, and I'm never gonna say 'Adam.' You »

Spike ordered 10 halfhour episodes of “Contractor,” and will begin to roll them out next spring.

Word of the series pickup follows news that Carolla’s crowdfunding effort for feature film comedy “Road Hard” surpassed the million dollar mark after about a month on Fund Anything.
